I simply noted the fallacy of the point made in the comment I responded to.
greatestMemberanon1m0us: For the fourth time, you can “independently verify” everything I advised you by simply reading the famous U.S. News & World Report 2012 College Rankings.
greatestMemberThere’s a previous thread from last week discussing their closure.
No great loss. Home made and eaten food is the best.
greatestMemberHe is a tax and spend and social leftist of the worst kind.
greatestMemberanon1m0us: I apologize that I cannot raise your reading comprehension via this discussion board. But for the third time, the source is U.S. News & World Report. Which part of that do you fail to comprehend? And as I previously stated, the report is not freely available on the web, thus there are no links. But please do feel free to purchase the report for approximately $35. You will then see what I refer to. This site honors copyright laws.
greatestMemberTLIK: They are correct in not going through “differing opinions”. They are teaching halacha lmaaisa on what to do. They aren’t giving a gemorah shiur. And they correctly only cite the one way in which we rule on the matter. Anything else breeds confusion. Halacha on what to do is not a smorgesboard of differing opinions each Baal Haboss can choose from.
greatestMemberYou’ve got to be kidding. You dont think shomer negiah is an important value to keep?!? What other values do you deem unimportant? Is keeping kosher something you plan on doing? Is taharas hamishpacha an important value to you?
She is certainly correct that if you water down halacha your children will further water it down from even your already watered down version. Much like a comparison between the first Reform and the Reform today.

January 3, 2013 7:01 pm at 7:01 pm in reply to: Where to buy organic apples for a decent price in Brooklyn? #917445greatestMemberThere’s a food cooperative on Cortelyou around E. 13.
That being said, organic food is no better or healthier than non-organic.
greatestMemberOnce you forgave someone eyou cannot later unforgive him when you realize that you still are pained by the incident.
greatestMemberanon1m0us: I’m very sorry that you failed reading comprehension in grade school and that Brooklyn College was unable to bring you up to par. Nevertheless, the only point I addressed was graduate salary levels. Not student tuition costs. Not education quality. And not any of the myriad of subjects you threw in for good measure. Only graduates salary levels.
Now I am sorry that since (as you said) “you could not find that” you shlepped in some other magazine making a general statement that Ivy League grads make the biggest salaries. That ia true though does not refute the point I made. And that is that Touro College graduates, on average, earn higher salaries than graduates of some (though not most) of the most prestigious colleges, including earning on average higher salaries than the average salary of graduates of some of the Ivy Leagues. This information is directly from the salary rankings (and they do rank average salaries earned by graduates of the various colleges — even though you “could not find that” as it is not freely available on the web) by U.S. News & World Report.
greatestMemberDY: I don’t understand why GAW said he “liked” your typo’d post.
greatestMemberIf you look at U.S. News & World Report salary rankings, you will notice Touro graduates have one of the highest average salaries. Higher, in fact, than graduates of many prestigious universities, including some of the Ivy Leagues.

Yeah, right. People post here their half-baked thoughts of whatever crossed their mind half-seriously or less.
greatestMemberIf shes spending it at Jewish establishments, you can reclaim any monies from them that she spent there without your authorization, as she halachicly needs your permission to spend the money. This is true even regarding her salary, as it’s yours unless she previously arranged with you otherwise (that you aren’t responsible for her upkeep.)

greatestMemberThere was a well-known real story of a dybbuk relatively recently that the Chofetz Chaim dealt with.
greatestMemberThere was a story a few years ago about a talking fish in Monsey, I am sure the same people who are calling this a “Bubba Meinser” are the same people who claim the Fish in Monsey talked.
The glasses is fairly easy to prove, all you have to find are the sellers and manufactures of these and its proveable
The talking fish story is just as easy to prove as the tzniut glasses bubbe maaisa. After you find the so-called sellers and manafacturers of these glasses, you can also find the talking fish — so they are both equally provable.
greatestMemberAnd I agree it is virtually impossible in a large Jeiwhs city/neighborhood to say good shabbos to everyone, unless you want to be a broken record and repeat “good shabbos” 50 times as you walk to (and then again, from) shul or on a walk; and be rude to your walking mate who you can’t converse for a minute with, without constantly interrupting your conversation to greet someone else.
greatestMemberThank You mw13 for providing the maare mekomos that it is halachicly assur for a man to greet a woman.
greatestMemberA zionist is a “Jewish” Nationalist. He believes in Nationalism. He sometimes, though not all the times, attempts to couch his nationalism in pseudo-Jewish terms. He elevates the mitzvah of yishuv haaretz over all other mitzvos.
greatestMemberRav Moshe and the Chazon Ish are not the only poskim who say it is strictly forbidden and even yeherag v’al yaavor. All poskim of note do. Did you ever notice that not one of the alleged claims that some permit it can ever cite a maare makom? That is because none exist.
I challenge anyone to provide a maare makom for any posek of note that says it is permitted. I know none exist. The best you’ll find are the Avi Weiss types. Orthodox indeed.

February 14, 2012 4:35 am at 4:35 am in reply to: Compelling All Jews to Perform Mitzvos and Follow Halacha #852026greatestMemberBut it could happen in our times. It is actual halacha. And it has been applied and utilized in galus long after the Beis Hamikdash. The only reason we don’t see it used too often today is because the gentiles ruling the lands we live in are preventing us from carrying it out.
greatestMemberIt certainly isnt. Its used properly in language. An example would be a Congressional vote of 434 -1 would be described in the press as a “nearly unanimous” vote in the House of Representatives.
greatestMemberAre you unable to differentiate between unanimous and “nearly unanimous” or do you simply have a reading comprehension difficulty?

greatestMemberConsidering many posters have commented about Wolf’s tendency to post an epilogue to almost every comment he makes indicating that he is a rasha and apikorus who is gehenim bound; and by nearly unanimous consent of the posters discussing this issue it has been the general consensus that it is extremely annoying and disturbing to the many threads and conversations that these constantly repeated theme is being spewed to, perhaps the moderators can consider no longer approving comments that constantly make this self-depreciating point.
