Give Me a BreakMember
yoshi:
I understand where you’re coming from. However, I’d like to ask you something: Why should animal suffer and die so that you could eat it?
Give Me a BreakMemberyoshi:
I had never talked about my being pro-choice – I had only mentioned it in my other threads. Now “mw13” so kindly brought it up. Why do you say I’m imposing it on others at YWN? You’ll notice there’s NOTHING about it here for over 200 posts!
Give Me a BreakMemberyoshi:
It’s “Mr.”
And of course I would save the life of the baby before that of the kitten! But I wouldn’t kill the kitten.
And pro-life in babies has EVERYTHING to do with the prevention of unnecessary death/pain to innocent animals.
mw13:
To clarify – if indeed I am clashing with da’as torah, it is not my direct intention to do so.
Give Me a BreakMemberIt is g’neivas da’as, because people assume that cartons of this size are 64 oz., not 59 oz.
Give Me a BreakMembermw13:
I don’t know whether or not I am going against Da’as Torah, but REVOLTING? That I’m not doing. Besides, America is not exactly a medina shel Torah, and unless you wish to be like the radical Muslims in Britain who wish to impose shari’a on the country, don’t mix halacha with American law.
mariner:
Unborn babies are UNBORN; living animals are LIVING, BREATHING, and FEELING!
Bogen:
If it could be determined that the female animal would not wish to carry the fetus, then yes, I WOULD support the abortion of the non-human fetus.
Give Me a BreakMemberBogen:
I repeated twice because I edited my post, and responded again because it wasn’t getting posted.
mw13:
I CERTAINLY don’t support killing babies – I support the right of a woman to abort an unborn fetus.
yoshi:
If you’re pro-life, shouldn’t you be pro- the life of innocent animals?
Give Me a BreakMemberBogen:
I get the strong sense that you’re wrong.

It’s OK. As long as you’re still friends.
Give Me a BreakMemberBogen:
Oh? And I get the feeling that you’re at home alone in your apartment, having nothing better to do than make up stories about me.
If you drew that “conclusion” from the fact that I wrote only about my siblings, it’s because my age, marital status, and parental status is of no business of “Zalman”‘s. But he so much wants to know about “the mishpacha” that I didn’t want to leave him empty-handed.

You seem to have something to do with each other. Are you best buddies, or brothers?
Give Me a BreakMemberANYWAYS, where was I? Oh yes. Animals deserve our respect, and yet we fail to give it to them. They should not be slaughtered and tortured as they are now.
Zalman:
You want to know about about my mishpacha? I’ll tell you about my siblings. I have four sisters and one brother.
Sister #1 is two years younger than I am.
Sister #2 is four years younger than am.
Sister #3 is six years younger than I am.
Sister #4 is eight years younger than I am.
Brother is ten years younger than I am.
That’s all you need to know.
Give Me a BreakMemberZalman:
Aw, that’s sweet. But what does my age or parental status have anything to do with anything?
Give Me a BreakMemberZalman:
Why do you care how old I am, or if I have kids?
jewishfeminist02:
It means “Give Me a Break, how old are you? Do you have children?”
Give Me a BreakMemberBATTLE OF THE TEXT MESSAGES
The day of the election, a friend forwarded the following message to me:
Use your brain
and vote McCain;
don’t be a ‘bahama’ (beheimah)
and don’t vote for Obama!
I replied:
Don’t be insane
to vote for McCain;
keep up the drama
and vote for Obama!
I also sent this to a few other friends, and this is one reply I got:
It will be hard to refrain
from voting for McCain
for he has put his country first;
everyone can see,
both you and me,
that only he can uench our thirst.
So don’t be fooled by Obama’s rhetoric and drama,
for beneath his veneer
his views become clear
that they are aligned with Hussein and Osama!
In due time,
we’ll view the sublime.
The drama will unfold
and the truth will be told.
And it will be quite queer
that we did not see what was clear.
And how we will rue the day
when we were swept away
to become the slave
of McCain’s conclave,
and we will wish that it was history
that Obama claimed victory!

“Yes, I do agree that animals should be treated ethically, but as stated before, I do not believe that PETA fulfills this purpose.”
You have a very valid point, but it depends who you ask – many HAVE been influenced well by PETA. Nevertheless, I agree that much of their propagandizing is wrong and extremist, and, as you say, turns people off.
Give Me a BreakMembernoitallmr:
Of course! That’s why I started this thread!
sueak:
Thanks for the compliment.

“…give your condolences where it matters…”
He’s our president-elect, and he’ll be our president VERY soon. That doesn’t matter?
“…ppl who hate your guts…”
Why do you think Obama “hates our guts?”
“…and cant wait till the day you all die”
Don’t YOU believe he’s going to blow us all to smithereens? Yeah, right.

Ugh.
Give Me a BreakMemberBush should go down in the annals of history as a president who did everything wrong – right.
Give Me a BreakMemberI can’t see it.
Give Me a BreakMemberY.W. Editor:
Could you PLEASE post a US map with the colors (red = McCain, blue = Obama, pink = maybe McCain, light blue = maybe Obama, gray = toss-up) and electoral numbers? It is something that all other newssites have.
Thank you.

Just wondering.
Give Me a BreakMemberI say McBama… but probably Obama.
If McCain wins, which I daven he doesn’t, Obama still gets the popular vote.
Give Me a BreakMemberillini07:
Even if he convert’s to Islam and joins al Qaeda, he’ll still never be an ARAB. He can’t be, considering his genealogy.

Correction: May she and your parents, Barack H. Obama and S. Ann Dunham, rejoice from on High tomorrow upon your victory.
Give Me a BreakMemberDear Senator Obama:
My sincere condolences upon the tragic loss of your beloved maternal grandmother, Madelyn P. Dunham. How hard it must be for you to lose here so close to the US Presidential Elections! At a time when you should be tentatively joyous and hopeful, you are cruelly forced to mourn on a prominent figure in your life. May she and your parents, Barack H. Obama and S. Ann Dunham, rejoice tomorrow upon your victory.
My heartfelt sympathy, and best wishes for your electoral success,
D.E.

P.S. Let’s all make a good impression on him, for when/in case he wins. Post condolences, please.
