GILAMembermy mother is so weight obbssesive to her if your fat your like unwanted by all i think thats the wrong way one should look at it
GILAMemberit never ceases to amaze me that wen we c someone who goes off the derech instead of reaching out to them cuz wen it comes down to it thats wat they really want from us we just turn our backs to them and look upon them badly it makes no sense arent jews supposed to be accepting im not saying become best friends with them cuz they can be influential i just dont c y we have to distance ourselves completely and become all hostile i c it all over
GILAMembery is there even a conversation about if your allowed to hit your wife who would wana do such a thing like that i mean take your anger out elswhere
October 30, 2008 5:41 pm at 5:41 pm in reply to: How to Block the Internet from My Children? #1216638GILAMemberok heres wat i think if you want to keep your kids away from the terrible affect the internet can i have a few suggestions firstly if the envirement in the house is a solid torahdig one that will be a positive affect on your children however we live in a generation where watever is in the non jewish world seeps into the jewish world and we get trapped into it sometimes without even notiicing if you have the internet in your house that is a huge yetzer harah right there cuz your kids will say theyr going on to shop and could be thats where it will start but then slowly theyl be looking at different things that they probably shoulnt be im not saying this will for sure happen but it happens alot gradually if your child has already fallen into the trap and is going downward already my suggestion would be not to be very hard on her shel find her way back just tell her wat is right do it out of love and hopefully it will be ok
GILAMemberok my brother is 12 years old as well hes exactly like that he never wants to eat the meal my mother will make for the family and his reason is bec. he doesnt want to be fleishig its a thing kids dont want to be cuz they feel restricted that they wont be able to have anything dairy im not sure your sons reasoning for not wanting to eat the suppers wat i suggest is that you ask him wat he would like to have and explain to him that eating cereal is a breakfast and not a supper work with him and he will work with you good luck
GILAMemberill tell you what it is we live in society where your weight matters in the non jewish world its vitally important to be skinny ifyour not your like an outcast in our frum community its not like that but to a certain extent if your heavy your looked at differntly i think its absurd the way someone looks doesnt define a person whatsoever however in shiduchim i feel ppl must look their best and being heavy doest qualify and anyways you feel so much better about yourself when you know you look good and your thin.
GILAMembermost ppl think tznius is wat your wearing that assumption is 100% incorecct your whole life revolves around modesty the way we speak act and dress its very scary but if someone is not careful to dress modestly and not ostentatious the punishments that come from that r unfathomable ppl who will hear this will probably put wat i say down cuz they dont want to believe it but its all true its brought down in sefarim
GILAMemberi dont think if you wear the color red it will have an effect on your behavior i think that if your gonna wear a bright red shirt and its very tight fitting that can affect the behavior bec. you are losing touch which wat is correct and therefore it has an affect on you
