Wow! I haven’t been here in a while!
Well, today I baked Challah for the very first time (I baked it with my mother) – let’s see how it comes out! I also baked a cake, peanut butter blossom cookies, an ice cream sandwich cookie cake, and now, I will IY”H start on a deli wrap! YUM!!! All L’Kavod Shabbos!

Health – I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but I really think you can talk (or type rather) to Gefen with some mentchlachkeit. I personally understand both sides of the story, but I have to stick up for the one who writes with decency. Unfortunately, I can’t say that you are doing so. Klal Yisroel is in a time of tzarus – as we have been many times before. I don’t think writing the way you are will help our situation any. So I ask you, as well as others who may talk harshly to others, to please try to speak softly – with civility. Before you speak, please be careful that it won’t hurt others. I don’t mean for you to stop speaking your thoughts, but to do it in a respectful manner.
I can’t stand when I tell a story that happened a while ago and someone responds by saying “Oh yeah! Do you remember that?!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Nope. I don’t.

Why would we need lighting if there was a big beautiful stone window that sent light outside from within? Wouldn’t we just use that stone again? I learned (if I’m not mistaken) that the curve of the window brought the Shechina’s light outside the Bais HaMikdash to the rest of the world. There was so much light inside the Bais HaMikdash already!

I love the fact that Jews today are still speaking Yiddish. It kind of shows that no matter where we are, whether it’s Eretz Yisroel, America, England, France… or anywhere, we never forget who we are. Yiddish is mostly German mixed in with the language of wherever you live and Lashon Ha’Kodesh – but always Lashon Ha’Kodesh. That part is not just in Eretz Yisroel – it’s everywhere. “Torah” in Yiddish is always “Torah”. Is it not?
The Gematria of Abaya – Alef, Bais, Yud, and Yud. 1+2+10+10=23!!! (I think that’s how it’s spelled anyway.)

Mochoh timcheh – I don’t know if you read a certain part of my post. I picked up different bits and pieces from different places who all had sources. I am not going to look up every single source and quote them all on what they said. If you would like, and if you would ask me kindly, maybe I will look some of them up. It may take quite a bit of time to look through many notebooks of mine, but if you would really like me to then maybe I will.

Well, excuse me, mochoh timcheh! Did I mention anywhere in my post that I have my PHD (Posekes HaDor)? I said it was my opinion (yes, based on things I have learned in school and out). I picked up different pieces from different teachers and different places out of school. “In my opinion” means that I am not a Rabbi nor a Rebbetzin, and I cannot say any more than my own opinion. That is why I told people to correct me – and I meant in a nice manner.

Just remember: when you are testing your skirt when you are sitting, don’t pull it down a lot before you sit because that’s just not honest. Just sit down as you always do. That makes sure it’s completely tzniusdik – yes, even if it’s 3.5 inches below the knee. It might be just fine. I once had a skirt that was 2 inches below the knee but it was still tzniusdik (until I grew of course ;)).
In my opinion, Bitachon is definition number two.

Now, the difference between Emunah and Bitachon is that Emunah is our belief, and Bitachon is how we show our belief through our actions. Yet we must have them both. One cannot stand without the other. A person cannot do things just to show to others that he believes if deep down he does not really believe. However, one cannot believe without doing things to prove his belief, because he must do his Hishtadlus. Ha-Shem will only do if we show Him we really want him to do. And even then, He might not do as we want, because Ha-Shem knows what’s best.
This is only my opinion on the matter. I am not saying I’m right or wrong. Please tell me if you believe otherwise.
The first night I went to sleep at about 2:20 a.m. The second night I went to bed at 4:25 a.m. I have no idea what time I actually fell asleep on either night. Boy, was I tired afterwards!

Well, my family ends late!
It’s so amazing to hear the birds chirping in the wee hours of the morning. First it gets really dark. As the Seder goes on, night goes on, too. Soon enough we start to see the sun peeking out of the darkness. The moon begins to fade away giving way to the brilliance of the sun. It beautifully enhances and concludes our Seder!
Not only are we remembering a Nes that happened to us many years ago and reliving it, but we are also experiencing a daily Nes that we don’t always get to see. Mah Rabu Maasecha Ha-Shem!

Please tell us what happens! I’m curious to know.

Any questioning has an answer in Yiddishkeit. We might not know the answers to every question, but there is at least one answer to each question. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not right to ask in a rebellious way or any inappropriate way. However, there is always an answer.
I went to a Bais Yaakov school, and I would like to give you my humble opinion. I do believe that texting might have a lot to do with the problem of bad spelling. However, I don’t believe it has everything to do with it. Girls in my class who don’t text a lot are not necessarily the bad spellers. In fact, one particular girl asked me to proofread her report and the spelling was horrible. This is a girl who probably never even texted once yet. I have read other girls’ work – girls who do text (often) – and the spelling and grammar was much better.
In conclusion, I don’t believe texting is the whole issue. Perhaps some of the problem is whether the girls care about spelling and grammar or not. I do care about them. I know I’m not perfect, and I make many mistakes, but at least I try. Some girls don’t.
I’m wondering: are boys any better?

back to the question: i learned that we do have bechira! definitely. however, the bechira is between good and bad. if something is neither good nor bad, then no we do not have bechira. for instance, deciding whether to paint your room blue or green – in this kind of situation we do not have bechira in what will be in the end.
it could be that i misunderstood my teacher, however, this is what i got out of it. please forgive me if i misunderstood.
I LOVE CHANUKA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT’S THE BEST!!!!!!!! i listen to Chanuka music, make Chanuka decorations, and talk (and sing) about it all day and night long! We do have a small Chanuka party just for family (sometimes a friend). but i love the menorah, the dreidels, the songs, the miracle story behind it all, and the whole CHANUKA CHEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i think if someone’s a righty they spin it clockwise with their right hand. if someone’s a lefty they spin it counterclockwise with their left hand. am i right?

personally, i think it depends on the individual. some people might not have a good parnassa and hidur mitzvah is spending more money on the menorah (the pre-made oil and wicks). it is expensive and this might be the way they choose to do hidur mitzvah. in my opinion, these look really nice with all the different colors! however, if someone has the money and it’s no big deal if they spend it on this, then perhaps getting a little dirty from the oil is the way they would do hidur mitzvah. you make your choice and someone else will make his/her own!

bli neder i’ll try to learn something (maybe something in chumash) on friday night after lighting candles. i have not been learning Ha-Shem’s Torah – a treasure which He gave to us – so much lately unfortunately. i can learn a lot from it – such as ways to improve my midos.
