true the issue is not always your fault,

schools don”t always reject especially in Lakewood with a huge growth because of your profile.

There are just not enough seats sometimes,The same way you have to take another bus or plane sometimes due to the shortage of seats, the same goes for schools, there are only x amount of openings many time due to siblings it can be 3 or 4 slots

    gavra_at_work u wrote

I don’t see the problem. Either go up to 28 children per class, or have the 20 that are left out open their own (new) school. I’m sure someone has some extra room, or will lend their living room for classes.

why are you so sure someone has some extra room, or will lend their living room for classes.? would u lend ur home?

    with all the hocking aside

Our Gedolim have many times said and cried out in public that much of the problem of kids at risk etc lays in the fact that our classes are overfull, yes the average class in the chasidic schools in Lakewood is over 27 kids per class, so now lets do the math, lets say there are 20 kids to place,

There is Satmar (one class per grade, mesoras avos (one class per grade), Bais avroham (3 classes per grade),Toras emes (one class per grade)Rachmistrivk (one class per grade)Rav Wosners cheder (one class per grade)

    A total of 6 schools,and 8 classes

if you were to place another 2 or more kids per class you will have 29 kids per a class!

i would not want to teach or have my child in a class of 29 kids

Chaveirim members this afternoon are headed to Monsey, New York, after an unexpected October snow storm dumped about a foot of snow and knocked out power to hundreds in the area. A Chaveirim Coordinator tells TLS they are sending several generators and other equipment to assist the elderly and sick who were left without electricity after the storm hit.

Lakewood and other southern Municipalities were only hit with about an inch of snow.

FLORIDA COURT SETS ATHEIST HOLY DAY

In Florida , an atheist created a case against Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians and Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring,”Case dismissed!”

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, “Your honor, How can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my client and all other atheists have no such holidays…”

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, “But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant.”

The lawyer said, “Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists.”

The judge said, “The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, ‘The fool says in his heart, there is no God.’ Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that, if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day.

Court is adjourned…” You gotta love a Judge that knows his scripture!

Riots broke out in north London on Saturday night as a peaceful march to denounce the police shooting of a young man erupted into vandalism and looting.

Two police patrol cars, a van, a building and a double-decker bus were torched in the neighbourhood of Tottenham, as rioters clashed with officers in front of the local precinct and stores were looted and set ablaze.

The melee followed a peaceful march to the station to protest against the fatal shooting of Mark Duggan, 29, a father of four who was riding in a taxi on Thursday when he apparently became involved in a gunfight with police.

“It’s really bad,” said local resident David Akinsanya, 46. “There are two police cars on fire. I’m feeling unsafe.”

    Stores looted

Sirens could be heard across the city as authorities rushed reinforcements to the scene. Shop windows in Tottenham were smashed as residents looted stores, pushing shopping carts full of stolen goods down the street.

Youths used aerosol cans to set fire to store shelves of a shop, while other rioters deployed poles, shopping carts and plastic storage bins to build barriers in the street as they confronted police.

Officers in riot gear and on horseback pushed up against the demonstrators. Akinsanya put the number of demonstrators at between 400 and 500. Police said about 300 people had gathered.

Miles from the tourist hotspots of the central capital, Tottenham is the poorest neighbourhood in London and the eighth-poorest in the country. Nearly half of all children live in poverty, according to campaigners.

    History of racial tension

The area is very diverse and home to one of the capital’s biggest black populations. The area also has a history of racial tension and anti-police feeling.

In 1985 Tottenham was the scene of a deadly riot after a local woman suffered a fatal heart stoppage when her home was raided by the police. The Tottenham riots were among the most violent in the country’s history, with one officer stabbed to death as he tried to protect firefighters and nearly 60 others hospitalized.

London last saw large-scale rioting in December, when thousands of students took to the streets to denounce drastic university tuition hikes and some small groups among them clashed with police.

In Lakewood for example the Placards are signed by the head of the police dept. it helps avoiding tickets for speeding to emergencies like children locked in cars etc.. double-parking during a boost, etc.

    and as leider said

Reflecting jackets are to be used when working on the road (changing tires, boosts, etc.) during dusk to dawn, for safety.

lets not forget 2 weeks ago a couple in israel were killed changing a tire.

and chaverim help police fire dept Hatzolah etc when more personal are needed so the need a uniform to be identified

Subject: FW: Fw: Chasidic hubbub over NY marriage law

NEW YORK – In an unusual display of unity, leaders of five Chasidic groups today issued a joint statement in support of proposed state legislation to allow same-sects marriages.

The groups represented were Belz, Pupa, Satmar, Bobov, and Lubavitch.

“Of course we want same-sects marriages,” said Rabbi Wurzma Shtreimel, head of the Belz movement. “A Belzer should marry only a Belzer. That makes perfect sense.”

    The other rabbis agreed.

The rabbis shared concerns about the dilution of their individual groups through inter-sect marriages.

“The Tanya warns us,” said Rabbi Mendy Pantz of Lubavitch, “If a Lubavitcher marries outside his sect, his children lose half their heritage. His son is not Lubavitch, just Vitch. And his grandson becomes a son of a Vitch.”
