Obama meets the Queen of England. He asks how she runs such an efficient government.

Queen: I only surround myself with intelligent people.

Obama: How do you do that?

Queen: Well I ask them a riddle. If they get it right then I know they are intelligent.

    Obama: What’s the riddle?

Queen: Tony Blair come over here.

    Tony: Yes Mam.

Queen: If your parents have a child and it’s not your sister and it’s not your brother, who is it?

    Tony: It’s me, your highness.

    Queen: Right

    Obama: Wow – that’s amazing.

So Obama goes back to the states and is in his oval office.

Obama: Joe Biden come in here.

    Biden: Yes sir

Obama: If your parents have a child and it’s not your sister and it’s not your brother, who is it?

Biden: Hmmm… I’ll have to think about that. Let me get back to you.

Biden goes all over the white house asking people the question, but nobody seems to know the answer. Finally, he runs into Colin Powell.

Biden: Hey Colin. I have a question.

    Colin: Yes Joe?

Biden: If your parents have a child and it’s not your sister and it’s not your brother, who is it?

    Colin: It’s me.

Biden: Excellent – thank you so much!

    Biden runs back to Obama.

Biden: President Obama! I have the answer! It’s Colin Powell

Obama: No you idiot! ……………………… It’s Tony Blair!

postsemgirl – Well yeah – ur right that one of my daughters is there basically every Shabbos. (our beds must be related cuz mine doesn’t let me out either) This is cute – if you really do know who I am, I’m very surprised. I did not think you’d figure it out cuz we really don’t know each other. I do believe you were my other daughter’s big sister in elementary school. I think so, not sure.

I do know who Syag is but obviously I can’t reveal that here. She’s a friend of mine. She does not daven in the same shul that we do.

Goq – I guess I’m a bit slow, but I finally got your postum joke. Actually my daughter pointed it out to me. I kept looking at the way I spelled it in the title but it just kept escaping me. Then she pointed it out to me.

postsemgirl – no i was not in kol tuv this morning, but i kind of have ties to the store. my husband used to work there. anyway, i believe i have seen you in shul. i’m not there every Shabbos so don’t think of the regulars. also i’m not so sure you are who i think you are, it’s just that some of the things you’ve said match the girl i’m thinking of. (did that make any sense at all? it’s past midnight and i’m not thinking straight, so certainly not typing straight)

syag – hey don’t scare the poor girl with ur creepy music. now, she’ll be looking over her shoulder all the time. LOL

When was the last time you visited here?

Actually, I’m from NY. I’ve been living here for 20 yrs so far. We used to visit NY every year until approx 4 years ago. Trying to figure out when we can take another trip back.

nothing was said about postum… but ok…. whatever you say.

btw- Goq- you seem to be from chicago too. i wonder who you are.

so i know some (actually approx 10 or so) of the chicagoans who post here. i’m curious as to who the others are like you and postsemgirl (though i have an inkling as to whom she is), etc (can’t think of who else is from here right now)

hey – we can have a fun game here – “guess the chicagoan” of course we would not actually give our names. the hints would have to do.

postsemgirl -yeah – it’s a good thing you didn’t bring that cow to the bon fire last night.

so, um.. do i know you? after all, there can’t be that many ppl here in chicago – especially Jewish ppl – and oh especially frum ppl. 😉

I guess that guy went out with you just to see what a religous girl from “out of town” is like. Such a rarity!

squeak: ha ha. Actually, I’m originally from NY and when I got engaged, my boss asked me if I’m really going to live in a hick town like Chicago. I had to explain that Chicago is a large city.

So squeak – come visit some time. We even have tall buildings here (wow), and shopping malls, zoos, parks, – you name it. Not bad for a little hick town.

Oh gotta go now – my cow is “moooing”.

When I was in high school in NY, we had limudei Kodesh on Friday and limudei chol on Sunday. Both were half days. I don’t know if they still do it that way there. Here in Chicago, my girls never had school on Sunday but my son has had it since first grade. I agree with Syag – kids do need some down time.
