Wait a minute – there’s actually a machlokes on whether it’s a bracha to have a girl??? All of my children are a big bracha to us!!! girl or boy – we are so thankful for them, as i’m sure most parents are.

Cinderella – you say you knew the answer but were just checking to see if it was right. what if the other girl’s answer was different? would you have changed yours? If yes – then the answer is obvious. If no – then why look in the first place?
One time when I was in high school we had a multiple choice test. One girl copied the answers straight from the girl in front of her. The problem? She got it one line off! So while here answers were in the correct order ex: b c d a c b etc, they were to the wrong questions. OOPS! Boy did she get in trouble!

I couldn’t even sign in last night. I kept putting in my screen name and password and nothing would happen. Then I asked one of my daughters to try with her name and the same thing happened. So I guess there was a problem with the CR – not that the moderators were sleeping.

I heard that a Rav in E”Y is considering putting a hechsher on this “kosher pork”. They said that non kosher restaurants in Israel serve real pork – now kosher restaurants will be able to serve kosher pork. How wonderful! What does pork even taste like? How would one even know if it’s a good imitation? Who cares? Who needs it?
I’ll stick with my bacos 😉

There are a lot of rude people around – but i don’t think they even realize it. i once heard/read a story about someone who was on line at a grocery store yacking away on her cell phone. when the cashier tried to tell her how much she owed, the lady replied angrily “can’t you see i’m on the phone?” the poor cashier was trying to keep the line moving and this lady saw nothing wrong with having a phone conversation!

How do we know that AYC is even reading this? He may have decided he wants nothing to do with the CR anymore – not even read it.
Also, didn’t the mods ban him? Or did they change that? I don’t know the whole story, so if something changed, I’m not aware of it.
AYC: If you are reading this, you can tell you are really missed here. I hope this is all resolved soon. We need achdus in these trying times!

If the IP address has something to do with which computer you’re using, then I say it still doesn’t matter. My husband and kids have their own screen names from their emails and we’re all on the same computer.

popa: what do you mean they don’t let? how would they know if you are using a different email address? you can’t even get another screen name on the same email address so you would have to use a diff one and nobody would know.

NO- if you’re in shul and not davening that’s ok too? does that count as if you davened with a minyan? i don’t think so. Just being in yeshiva and not learning is wrong! to whom are you showing off?
Yissachar and Zevulin – one works, one learns. what’s the question? someone has to be able to support those who are learning. yes the workers should learn for at least a few hours but not everyone can learn 24/7.

mod-42: thanks for your answer. it really is creepy to think that this can go on here. we’ve always heard that about sites such as facebook etc. but on a frum web site? wow! i guess i shouldn’t be surprised. we do live in a crazy world.

Actually when i saw the video the first time, i thought “eh – nothing special”. When one of my daughters saw it the first time, her reaction was the same. Then one day we both watched it together (i don’t know why we decided to watch it, if we didn’t like it) and we actually liked it. Now I love listening to it. But it’s the only song on their cd that i like.
Um… I only have one screen name. No connection to miritchka. And that’s 100% true. Whether anyone wants to believe that , it’s up to them.

I posted a question before but I don’t see an answer – could be I missed it. But anyway, here it is again:
How can we be sure that AYC won’t sign on with a different screen name? The answer is probably that we can’t be sure. So now what? Do we view everyone with a skeptical eye?
It really is disheartening. But life in general is the same way. It’s hard to know who to trust. It’s not just the CR. Actually imho, the cr is still safer because you don’t know these people (for the most part anyway, yes some posters know others personally but that’s different). And as long as you really don’t give away too much info. you’re safe here.
Last but not least – a big Yasher Koach to the CR MODS for doing a great job.
