I certainly don’t believe that being for or against any political party is being Mevaze Talmidei Chachomim (even if the gedolim disagree).

That being said, the question is not how you treat those in your office who you know, but how you treat a general person with similar aspects. If you are neutral until proven otherwise, than you are not a racist (IMHO).
Also there is a cultural divide between groups (as there should be between us and non-jews, for example). That may have something to do with it as well.

The timing of the statement was specifically to be against the Beni Torah (and Tov) Party, who broke off of Gimmel and held Rav Shteinman to not be the Gadol HaDor. What I am acusing is that it is possible (I’m throwing out the idea) someone (a fanatic) who understood Rav Chaim’s statement to apply to anyone who doesn’t vote Gimmel held the same way in an applied manner to those who didn’t vote for Beni Torah. Now that we have this attack, I ask (and I think others should do so as well) what set this fanatic off? Was it the Beni Torah/Gimmel fight, and the rhetoric that came along? Was it the “support” for Nachal Charaidi (for non Yeshivaliet), for which Rav Shteinman has been attacked in the past? Was it his unwillingness to openly protest against the government cutting funding? Or something else.

Besides, who needs a Bais Din when you have the word of Rav Chaim? “Lo Nitni Sahadi Ela L’Shakri” (Witnesses are only needed to disprove liars), and Rav Chaim (as the “Gadol”) is by definition telling the truth.

Part of the reasoning behind the Cherem of Rabbainu Gershom at that time (it is said, I don’t have the source off the top of my head) was because of of the Catholic Sacrement of Marriage, making Bigamy a sin in their eyes. So too here, if Metziza becomes an societal issue with the general public (which B”H it has not), that would be a consideration.
Even L’Shitascha, how much weight to give to “studies” and Nistar is subjective as well (similar to the case of Runia, which was all Halachic and nothing societal, but nonetheless was morally ambiguous).

Very good. That is the point, that each idea has to be weighed based on the subjective weights placed on it by the viewer. Bris Milah in general would certainly get a higher weight than other “problematic” concerns, such as (for example) Mietiza B’Peh (which is certainly not Meakev) for the Pikuach Nefesh (or societal) problem.
Point being, it’s not black & white. That’s why you need a Rov.

I believe we agree on this point. The “internal procedures” depend on a subjective understanding of the issues. The “Din” of “Yashar V’Tov” (a general moral) is determined in its practical application by Rava based on his understanding of the facts. The moral “Do good” may be objective, but its application certainly is not. This moves on to other examples as well, such as the recent call by one of the Chassidishe Rebbes to wear fake straimels due to the cost and current external pressures on not wearing fur hats. That may be “Yashar V’Tov”, but it is based on a subjective understanding of the facts with which others might disagree.
Now to move to a more difficult case, let’s take Mechias Amalek. The “Moral” of “Yashar V’Tov” would (Pashtus) say not to do so. Either you believe that “Morality” is overridden by Halacha (and you are not a Kofer), or you believe that Hashem is saying that is included in “Yashar V’Tov” and is moral. See the post that I linked to earlier in the thread for more on that.

However, there is an Mitzva not to be a “Glutton”, either in food, drink, women, etc. Reshus means that the action individually is muttar, but in context it is a mitzva not to do it.
“Morality” might come from “Yashar V’Tov”, but that once again is very subjective.

The concept (which you probably mean “Nitnu Reshus L’Chachamim”, not “Lo Bashomayim He”) puposely has very narrow application (perhaps Chol Hamoed, maybe others). Lo Bashomayim He is a completely different idea, in which bais din is given the right to Pasken within the framework of existing Halacha. It has nothing to do with making new Halacha, Chas V’Shalom, and certainly has nothing to do with “morality”. Tanur shel Achnai (the classic example) is a Halachic, not moral, issue.
If you define Halacha as “morality”, that is perfectly understood. Just realize that you are not using the word in the way other people would understand it. It is like calling an object with four walls, a roof and a door a “cat” because that is what you think a “cat” should look like.

Running a yeshiva IS big business, plus no one asks questions when you employ familiy just because they are related.
Unfortunately, I have to agree. The Rebbe and the Principal care more about their own jobs. If the rich person’s child is disciplined and the school goes under, who does that help? No one. Hurt? Everyone.
I believe the chosen response helps the most people.

There is a reason why they (they Gedolim of the prior generation) that anyone who went through the Holocaust is Kaddosh and can not be judged.
Chazal also say (and I forget where, but IIRC it is quoted by Rashi in Chumash) that someone who asks Hashem to judge or punish gets their Massim looked at first. Perhaps someone could help me here.

Reb Doniel: I wouldn’t disagree with most of what you said (her children are Jewish, though, and she does have Dinnei Niddah, can’t use them where Amirah L’Akum is muttar, etc.). That is not to say that the Ribbono Shel Olam will punish them for their actions. He may, and He may not. That is for Him to know.

We don’t know. Hashem does. That is why Hashem judges and we don’t. Judge not, that ye be not judged. (MDD, read that as “Al Tadin es Chavercha Ad Shetehei B’Mikomo”).
