frummy in the tummyParticipant
For anybody interested, it’s over.
frummy in the tummyParticipantThanks, mods! You’re the bestest!
frummy in the tummyParticipantGoq – lol; I like it but I’d prefer not to repeat the tummy – so I would go for “i wanted something yummy but my mummy said no”.
Another possibility: “my mummy says i’m yummy; do you?”
Or: “can someone get me a tums? frummy doesn’t taste so good…”
or just something like: “what made you ask?”
Hi, I’m the mod that usually gives the subtitles if you ask but I can’t seem to access your profile so the editor or someone with more access will have to do it for you is they choose to. sorry.
frummy in the tummyParticipantThanks, OOM! Great minds think alike! Check my request above.
frummy in the tummyParticipantHey, Goq – You were the one who suggested I ask for a subtitle; do you have any way of moving me up the cue for that coveted honor?
frummy in the tummyParticipantAnd your date may mistakenly think you are falling asleep due to lack of interest.
frummy in the tummyParticipantshowjoe – It was a colleghumor vid in their prank war series. I was at the next one at the Terps game. (Good luck trying to find me!)
frummy in the tummyParticipantmore_2 – Unless torah613 is my sister or my mother, which although highly unlikely would be quite amusing, I can’t see any way that I’d be remotely close to being related to her. Out of curiosity (yes I used your name in vain, curiosity), what similarities did you see?
frummy in the tummyParticipantI guess color war is over??? 🙁
frummy in the tummyParticipantShowjoe – Nice! Yes, I see what you mean! I think someone else should do the next one.
p.s. don’t worry, you’re one of many! (no, wait, that’s the other guy)
OOM – I’m assuming you picked one? If so…
Is it manmade?
frummy in the tummyParticipanthaha, yeah it did help a lot (thanks!)
Is it part (or all) of tanach?
frummy in the tummyParticipanttorah – haha, nice one. popa, I think she got you.
frummy in the tummyParticipantqueens – great point!
Positivity is REALLY important, and I think our society in general really needs to work on that (or maybe it’s just me lol). I think people who don’t have as much trouble seeing the positive side of things often underestimate what effect they will have when they speak about the negative issues they have. They often don’t realize that some people (myself very much included) DO have trouble motivating themselves if they don’t have positive outside stimuli, and the overload of negative information can be very detrimental.
Having never been married, I can’t really speak for it from experience, but to me some of the main benefits are having someone to share everything with, through good times and not so good, to know that no matter what someone else is there for you, and to be that person for your spouse. And by having a spouse and raising a family, you very much feel like you are doing the right thing; that responsibility, while being difficult, gives you the strong sense that you are accomplishing and growing in this world. Knowing that other people are relying on you (and that you are providing for them) can bring a very satisfying and fulfilling feeling. And knowing that your spouse cares for you more than for anyone else in the world, and knowing that he/she knows that about you as well, is one of the most powerful feelings in the world. And of course there’s the satisfaction of seeing your children grow and learn.
frummy in the tummyParticipant3) Do most people own one?
frummy in the tummyParticipantIf only the freezing temperature for water were 70 degrees; then we could have snowball fights without getting cold…
frummy in the tummyParticipantThou shalt vote for the president who you think will win to trick him/her into thinking Jews actually like him/her.
frummy in the tummyParticipantHey mods! Can you please change my subtitle to: “if it isn’t cholent, it’s just not yummy (unless it’s beer)”
Thanks!
frummy in the tummyParticipanthaha, obstacle illusion, great user name!
frummy in the tummyParticipantIs it just that because it is winter, it would be unlikely that condensation form on the outside of the windows?
frummy in the tummyParticipantRishonim definitely did not think of themselves as rishonim, as that is a relative term and no gadol would write something with the intent that later generations will NOT be able to argue on it.
I think it probably developed at some point due to the general writing style differences between the two groups; rishonim generally deal directly with the gemara’s shakla v’taria, and are generally much more terse and straightforward than achronim, while achronim often elaborate and focus on details in the gemora, bring up many tangential (albeit related) topics of halacha, and rarely argue with rishonim. I doubt any one individual decided, “I am (or Ploni is) the first acharon”. I think that at a certain point many of the gedolim just hesitated to argue with gedolim from previous generations, and at a certain point (possibly many years later) that hesitation was noticed and regarded as the “dividing line” between the two groups.
frummy in the tummyParticipanthumm….Is it larger (in total volume) than a fire hydrant? (What? That was the first thing that popped into my head! Okay?)
frummy in the tummyParticipantIn what way can somebody both be together and be anything?
frummy in the tummyParticipantukguy – First one: did he arrest him for trespassing?
Second one: Block of ice. (or staircase of ice if it’s really high)
frummy in the tummyParticipantp.s. thanks!
frummy in the tummyParticipantIs it manmade?
frummy in the tummyParticipantICOT – Nice one! Similarly, I was wondering (when I wrote the answer) whether a banjo would have been a straight up ‘yes’.
frummy in the tummyParticipantThanks, Goq! Great suggestion to have guesses after the 20th q!
frummy in the tummyParticipantAnd the answer is……..
an acoustic guitar!
Good job, Showjoe!
Okay, it’s your show, Joe! Want to start the next one?
frummy in the tummyParticipantNo more guesses? Two hours left!
frummy in the tummyParticipantI was thinking I’d just say the answer tomorrow, instead of just individually answering each time someone guesses, so you or ilc may still be correct. Otherwise there would be an unfair disadvantage to you for guessing first (more options to guess from). Now other posters don’t necessarily know if you’re right or wrong and may still guess cello or harp if they think either of those is correct.
One guess per poster!
frummy in the tummyParticipantAnother idea (where are these coming from??) – whoever guesses right thinks of the next one!
frummy in the tummyParticipantleft to write – Do you have any references?
jk, but it does kinda seem like a good idea to have SOMETHING available to posters who could match up. If both parties aren’t worried about their own anonymity, why not? These forums often bring out the essence of people and the way they see the world (although perhaps this is only because of the anonymity, thereby negating my point) without any of the fluff that comes with meeting in person. The ‘in-person’ aspect of a relationship is important, and posting here certainly doesn’t prove a pair of people’s ability to have good conversation with one another, but why not have one more way that people can meet each other be available?

frummy in the tummyParticipantRemember – the more guesses there are, the more likely it is that SOMEONE will get it right. So by guessing, you both give yourself a chance of getting it right as well as improving the overall chance of the CR as a whole getting the answer! I’ll post the answer around 11 AM tomorrow morning.
frummy in the tummyParticipantPBA – I forget; which one of the sheva brachos is borei minay mezonos?
frummy in the tummyParticipantNo loose pieces, e.g. it wouldn’t be a whole drum set.
frummy in the tummyParticipantSmile E. – I would still count battery powered instruments as using electricity. And remember, it’s bigger than a 20″ monitor (in total volume). Assume the monitor’s an inch or two thick; that would be another reason to knock out the flute.
frummy in the tummyParticipant1) Is it manmade? Yes
2) Does it use electricity? No
3) Is it metal? It contains metal.
4) Is it colorful (3 or more colors)? It can be (usually not really)
5) is it bigger then a computer screen/monitor? (Since that can vary, I’ll assume you meant an average size of about 20″) Yes
6) Is it a household object? I’m gonna go with Yes (It’s not a chair)
7) Does it have legs? No
8) Is it partially ceramic? No
9) is it movable? Yes
10) Does it hold other stuff in it? No
11) Does it have wheels? No
12) Is its primary use outdoors? No
13) Is it used for recreational purposes (as opposed to something used to accomplish something necessary/boring)? Yes!
14) Is it primarily used by children (under 10 years)? No
15) Is it a game? No
16) Does it have many (10 or more) pieces? No (It is one object)
Hint: Only some people have one, but it is almost universally appreciated
17) is it usually used in one specific room? No
Hint: It can’t always be used.
18) (Is it) a musical instrument of some type? Yes
18.5) Can it be used on Shabbos? No (Which instruments can be used on Shabbos?)
Hint: It’s not some abstract instrument like the Hocchiku (Japanese vertical bamboo flute), so basically, you still very much have a chance – just ask as good a 19th question as you can!
19) Is it a string instument? Yes
20) Is it round? As a whole entity, I would not describe it as being round..
Yeah, sure, let’s make this fun – every poster gets one guess. Go for it! I’ll post the answer Tuesday morning.

frummy in the tummyParticipantOkay, I’m going to assume you did mean to ask it as a question (to your benefit)-
1) Is it manmade? Yes
2) Does it use electricity? No
3) Is it metal? It contains metal.
4) Is it colorful (3 or more colors)? It can be (usually not really)

frummy in the tummyParticipantSo how soon does hfo2000 get blocked?
frummy in the tummyParticipantToo many factors in that question, but bottom line I think it depends on what the other person’s expectations are. (Yes, I believe it can be okay, but not always.)
frummy in the tummyParticipantZ.S – If the person you are going out with has a problem looking past a tiny thing like that, that’s a flaw in them, not you. Most people will not care about a thing like that.
frummy in the tummyParticipantICOT – lol. Sorry, can’t answer a non-guess.
frummy in the tummyParticipant1) Is it manmade? Yes

frummy in the tummyParticipant“YWN just this past week carried story of a lady who passed away @124 years with 10 children who all outlived her.”
I actually find the latter part of that statement much less likely than the former.
frummy in the tummyParticipantpopa – lolz; few people have realized that Abraham was actually a Rabbi Doctor.
I have actually been trying to find the weightless mass you speak of for years, but my donuts seem to keep following the prevalent rule, and I keep getting hungrier.
frummy in the tummyParticipant“Aristotle believed that objects fell to the ground because they were drawn to the center of the earth. It was only millennia later that gravity was discovered, and Aristotle’s beliefs were dismissed.”
ummmm….objects do fall to the ground because they are drawn to the center of the earth. (The reason they do so doesn’t have to do with something specifically located at the center of the earth, but they are attracted to the earth, and it is the center of the earth that they are pulled to because that is the center of mass.)
frummy in the tummyParticipantShabbos Shalom!
