anyone who is thinking of smoking or who already smokes, why dont you google ’emphysema’. 80 – 90% of those who get emphysema are smokers. when people think of illness due to smoking, i think they often think of lung cancer. check this one up too. what an drawn-out, awful way to die.
frumgirlNYMemberthanks RoshYeshiva for the clear answer!
frumgirlNYMemberi dont complain when i get a ticket bec. i know i’ve technically violated a law. all i’m saying is, is that the cops do not have to hang out at the 15mph speed limit signs and give you a ticket if youre going 25. someone going 25 is not a danger to society. they can spend their time ticketing guys going 85 on the palisades.
frumgirlNYMemberheres my opinion, especially for drivers in the monsey area:
#1 a 15MPH speed limit because there is a school nearby is completely ridiculous. no one i know drives 15mph, thats practically standing still. when coming from new hempstead road going onto grandview, theres a hill and at the top of the hill is a sign posted for 15mph bec theres a school there.. if you drove 15mph you’d never make it up the hill.
#2 if you ever get stopped and get a ticket from ramapo police dept, ALWAYS plead not guilty and go to court on the appointed date. show up at least 30-45 min early. they schedule about 150 people for the same exact time. if your violation was a stop sign or a 3 point speeding (and its your first violation), theyll always change it to a parking violation with about a $150 fine. but its totally worth it because then your license is clean with no points.
