i think most jewish owned food stores ( take out, restaurant, supermarket etc.) employ non jewish workers so your not always dealing with a yid when you check out or need help so this ‘mentchlikkeit’ doesnt apply
flatbush27Memberwhats the difference between saying someone or a community is not nice, not perfect, stuck up, annoying or talks about people? NOTHING!!! they are all bad attributes!! I cannot believe some people here fail to recognize the fact that GAW’s statement was completely hypocritical.
flatbush27Memberi dont think so SJS. i think WillHill really said it right. and i think it was implied that what GAW said here was hypcritical not earlier in other threads. and if you read what she wrote i think it is hypocritical.
flatbush27Membergota go with flatbush.

you just talked about other people!!!! hypocrit!!!!!
flatbush27Memberjewess: a movie is a very very untznius and pritzusdik place for a date and is assur
flatbush27Membermakeup is not tznius and is assur. it’s only point is to draw attention and look like the goyim.
flatbush27Memberames: the beach at night? i think that’s a very untznius place for a date
flatbush27Memberasdfghjkl: i dont know you personally or who you are at all! i just meant your name! that its one whole row of the keyboard! same thing with qwertyuiop! maybe im not that slow after all…:)
flatbush27Member“When and if the G’dolim demonstrate a unified effort and instruct K’lal Yisroel, I will act accordingly.”
if your waiting for R’ Eliyasiv Shlita to pick up the phone and call you personally, keep waitin
“The writers have no documentation and in fact I’ve seen reports that say quite the opposite and coming from much more authoritative sources.”
please prove they have no documentation and show us your reports saying the opposite
flatbush27Memberbuying a new mouse doesnt fix it…
flatbush27Memberyou guessed it!!!on a side topic a little while ago i figured out your name and then like 5 minutes ago i figured out qwertyuiop’s name!! how slow am i!!?? ( still want my welcome)
flatbush27Memberi thought you welcomed him already?!
i think your just trying to get to page 17 faster:)
February 12, 2009 4:09 am at 4:09 am in reply to: Is a Boy Looking to Date a Girl or a Chavrusah? #1217885flatbush27Memberjoseph: at least post something pertaining to the topic to make believe your not just trying to get this thread to the top of the list 😉
flatbush27Memberoomis: your right. i never said those people are right for thinking bad about him and talking bad about somebody who dresses in a certain way. they are certainly wrong.
flatbush27Member“Officials say no classified information has been lost. The lab, located in Los Alamos, N.M., employs about 10,000 people. “
out of 10,000 workers things get stolen by the workers themselves and they probably cant possibly steal the classified info containing computers because its too hard with the security ( i’m not talking about the computers stolen out of that guys house and i wrote this with the edit button that i got for like the third time!)
flatbush27Memberi thought my first post wasnt posted by mistake so i posted the second one if your wondering about the repetitiveness
flatbush27Membersjs: i never said your friend is in the wrong. but i think most people would think something negative if they saw a choshuv talmid chochom wearing jeans. i never said these people are right for thinking that way but fact is they do. if your friend doesnt care what people think of him so be it. but a bachur who never wears jeans but doesnt see anything wrong with them might still not wear them because people might categorize him
gavra: and in monsey, lakewood, baltimore etc people arent worried about shidduchim? a lakewood guy learning in bmg will dress like a yeshiva bachur in public and if he doesnt people will talk and it may affect his shidduchim
flatbush27Member“I am not going to dress for your prejudices and ill concieved notions, when they arent against halacha”
i never said you did. but just realize people judge people on how they dress. i try not to but the facts are people do so if you care then dress how you want to be looked upon or do what you want to. i couldnt care less.
“Why should my friend care what random people in Monsey think? Is he rebelling against society? NO. Is he doing anything wrong? NO”
i never said anything is wrong with that mentality or your friend. if someone wants to walk around dressed as a sailor and really hes a lawyer, and then people think hes a sailor obviously then whoopdidoo.
flatbush27Memberyossie: if you read the earlier posts i was qouting myrandom by saying 5 minutes.
myshadow: of course that happens from time to time but generally people know.
flatbush27Memberthank you joseph.
myshadow: that is not what dates are doing the first 5 minutes. these days people know so much about the other one before that they know before the date if the other one is heavy, skinny, tall, short etc etc.
flatbush27Membersjs: if you saw a choshuve talmid chacham wearing jeans i think most people would think thats not bikovidig or just think ok, thats a bit weird. why? because people judge others by how they dress and act and people should dress and act according to how they want to be looked at. what a person wears is what makes a person. a yeshiva bachur who wears dark pants and a white shirt every single day and then one random day he will put on a pair of jeans and a t shirt for the first time in his life will act differently than usual and people will view him differently. if your friend doesnt care that people think hes someone hes not then fine but majority of people do care what others think of them and they dress/act accordingly
flatbush27Membermoish. looks are definitely taken into consideration when dating obviously but on the first date i dont think “all the guy is doing on the first date is checking you out.” people these days realize that there are more important things on dates to do than check each other out
flatbush27Memberasdfghjkl: maybe some people here cant afford one cleaning lady and you are bragging about having 2.
flatbush27Memberbad analogy with baseball and bikovidig. thats “assur” in that job. its like a guy who steals. its not described as not being bekovidig, its called assur.
flatbush27Member“he’s single-handedly smashing the “yiddish= holy” trope.”
why? instead of his ‘abie rotenberg type’ songs being in english, they are in yiddish. what does he say or do that smashes the “yiddish=holy trope”
flatbush27Membermy shadow. im surprised the mods let number one of your list through. i dont think frum guys think the way you think they do.
flatbush27Memberyichud problems arise sometimes, kashrus problems arise sometimes but if you can afford it and prevent the problems that can arise then why not if you need it. alot of people just cant do everything themselves especially if they work so household help definitely helps:)
what are your thoughts on this random topic mazal
flatbush27Memberpeople are obsessed with the idea that if someone works with his hands (electrician, plumber, mechanic etc.) they MUST wear jeans. all i’m saying is they DONT. my mechanic (who is goyish) does not always wear jeans. he wears a brand called dickies sometimes and they are durable black work pants and are just as good as jeans.
sjs- your right about the tight jeans thing. i was wrong about that.
flatbush27Memberit doesnt but its not bikovidig for a Jew to wear jeans unless he needs them for work although the ‘jean wearing jobs’ dont demand jeans. plenty of these people wear other pants on the job and nothing ever happened to them because of it. only for the better cause they are more comfortable because they are not as tight as jeans
flatbush27Membermaybe he’ll come on this thread and tell you. that would be funny 🙂
flatbush27Memberamen joseph.
cherrybim: i’m completely disgusted by your comment
flatbush27Membermy advice is dont worry what you wear, just be yourself 🙂
flatbush27Membertt. and lets say you do become addicted? lemafraya, the one on purim is assur?! thats completely illogical. if you want to smoke on purim then smoke. dont say its mutar. and by your logic of happiness can you smoke other things on purim (marijuana) which is not even addictive (physically)
flatbush27Membermoish: then why dont some wear jeans if not for my reason
flatbush27Member“SOMEONE PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY WOMEN CAN WEAR JEAN SKIRTS BUT MEN CANNOT WEAR JEANS”
because how are jean skirts goyish. goyish women dont wear jean skirts (usually). goyish men wear jeans.
flatbush27Member“So it might be Ossur to smoke on Purim solely because you will likely end up addicted but the actual smoking isn’t ossur.”
not condoning smoking on purim but i think plenty of guys smoke on purim and dont become addicted. alot more than those ho do become addicted
