aries-it should be bisha’ah tova.
Heree’s another to keep you going (tho all the posts here are a great laugh)
This guy was rushing to make it to the airport and he needed a taxi, so he kept asking “aifo hasheirutim?” When people started scratching their heads trying to think of a place for him he said “maher, maher, ani ratz”.
BSDMemberDoes she charge $? Is she an ehrliche yid? Does any da’as Torah agree with this? Just wondering.
BSDMemberaries-By going, would I be making an official “let’s take off of learning/yeshivah so we can do something fun.” day? Where are my priorities?
They know school is important to me, but will this appear contradictory or even hypocritical?
common- I think 10 am and it’s for about 2 hours.
BSDMemberI know what you mean. I thought I had the accent down pat, yet every time I would talk to an Israeli he would say “Attah Amerikai?”
BSDMemberC’mon mod-it wasn’t that bad!:(
It wasn’t that bad. As I noted, most of the posters on this thread posted it. But, it cuts just past what I’m willing to allow.
The line is what makes the joke funny. If it was about apples, you wouldn’t be posting it.
BSDMemberDY-LOL!
AYC-Shticky is an awesome agent. I paid a mare pittance for the bridge. I’ll make back all my money as soon as I get those toll booths set up…
BSDMembers2021-the story wouldn’t work too well with a guy. But in case you or any sem alumni feel slighted, here’s one about a yeshiva bachur (I,ll leave the gender wars for Popa)
I have deleted this joke from 5 different users. If yours was deleted, it was this one. No underwear jokes.
BSDMemberAYC- “Depends…a minyan of what?” Ma’aminim of course! The kind of people that are prepared to be moser nefesh.
“As long as you keep out of sight, you have nothing to worry about.”
Those were Osama’s last words…
I dunno maybe I’ll wait for another deal to come along. I’m still behind on payments for a bridge I bought.

BSDMemberIt would be pretty amazing if you could get the Yalili break-dancers. The management at Pomegranate should have contact info.
Mazal Tov!
BSDMemberI heard there is improvement. No brain damage. they are hopeful for a full recovery. She is still in need of our tefillos.

BSDMemberFor every step, for every breath. Thank you H-shem. (I was once in an accident and shattered my vertebrae. According to the doc I was this close to … So now I can appreciate that every step is a gift and not to be taken for granted!)
BSDMemberSounds good. I’ll have to try it. 🙂
BSDMemberAre there any health issues involved?

BSDMemberGet a second opinion before you let the dentist drill. Some dentists have a knack for “finding” cavities.
BSDMemberWhere will the wedding be?
BSDMemberAlso, the reason it says “imo” is to teach you that if the recipient sits back and says that since it’s your mitzvah, do it yourself(an advantage taker), than you do not have to do it. However, it does not say that if he is an ingrate you are absolved from your obligation. There is likely a legitimate reason why he is sonachuh, he may not be Mr. Manners and yet you are commanded to lend a hand.
BSDMember“a true tzaddik is like avraham avinu who was pained when he had no guests or like rav aryeh levine who couldn’t say “no” to anyone because he truly loved everyone, and giving gave him the greatest pleasure.”
Surely this was not their natural inborn instincts. They had bechira. They worked on themselves to reach that level. That is our avodah. Mussai ygiu masei limasei avosai. If you feel it will cause burnout and then more worthy recipients will end up losing out, that is a different cheshbon. It sais ki sireh chamor sonachuh rovaitz tachas masao azov tazov imo. Why chamor sonachuh-why not chamor ohavechuh? Because the torah wants us to work on ourselves-to grow.
BSDMemberPopa- I beg to defer. Because you resent it doesn,t mean you shouldn’t do it, it means you need to work on yourself. What’s if you resent giving maaser from your hard earned money. Are you patur?
“If you are ignoring your own needs, you are a pushover.”
You don’t have to ignore your needs- you need to redefine your priorities. You need to help another Jew because H-shem wants you to regardless of whether they shower you with gratitude or not.
May 11, 2011 4:45 pm at 4:45 pm in reply to: Firestorm After Der Zeitung Deletes Hillary Clinton from Iconic Photo #1052695BSDMemberYid Period.-“Not everyone agrees that everything the “ultra orthodox” do is 100% kosher, pardon the pun. Not everyone considers religion at all, let alone those practices that go against cultural values, a “beautiful way of life.”
True-people believe what they choose to believe. Modesty is not a convenient or fun way to live life. So rather vilify it than learn from it. Also their subsequent press release was well written and respectful. It should be an eye opener to make people realize that the omission was done not because we don’t respect women, but because we value modesty.
Bored in office-“@BSD the beautiful way of life that you speak of is very nice but that can be done in a shul publication, not in a public forum.”-
Excuse me, tznius is not limited to shul just as eating kosher is not limited to your house. People have a legitimate need for kosher media.
Regarding the contract/copyright etc. It’s never ok to break the law or renege on a contract, but that has no bearing on the woman’s lib issue. And they issued an apology.
BSDMemberDrink a lot of green tea(no sugar) Eat a lot of veggies. Don’t let more than 4-5 hours lapse between meals. When you are hungry, you make bad decisions. And of course there’s the mint chips…:)

BSDMemberThere is a clear distinction between a Pushover and a Tzadeikes.
Tzadeikes= doing chessed for s/o in need. Period. If the recipient is not a mentch and does not appreciate it, then they are lacking good character. It is not your job to fix their character, but it could be an opportunity to work on yours.
Pushover=doing a favor for s/o who is either capable of doing it themselves or does not really need the favor i.e. it’s a luxury. Not only are you not doing them a favor, but you are helping them perpetuate their selfishness. And you are allowing yourself to be trampled upon. You need to ask yourself why you would even consider doing such a “favor”. Is your “friend” very pushy/demanding? Are you not assertive enough? You can be assertive w/o coming across aggressive if you use tact(right now is not a good time, maybe some other time)A torahdikki Yid is a ben/bas melech. Not a pushover!
BSDMemberDid all my pledges but for #89.
Any update on her condition?
BSDMember80-89 bl”n
BSDMemberIf he has had success with tutoring and enjoys chinuch then you should probably focus on that. Contact ppl in chinuch-rebbeim, principals etc-they may know of students in need of tutoring. Let them know that you are available. Let everyone know. Print business cards. Speak with ppl who were tutored by ur husband and ask if you can use them as references. You can make a very decent and bikovediki parnasah through tutoring and still be doing what he loves. Hatslachah.

Hindsight is 20/20. I’m sure that if they had any idea of the storm it would create they would have skipped the photo altogether, but who would have thought? And truthfully, why the uproar? I haven’t read the blogs you refer to but what is their main argument? What’s the crime? The paper is making an honest attempt to be true to journalism, which at times includes photos. Since the paper has restrictions due to our commendable standards of tznius they omitted some of the picture-Today’s society with all it’s immorality should try to emulate-not vilify, our beautiful way of life.
BSDMemberI may be interested. Just a few questions:
How far is minyan? Is it Ashkenaz or sfard?
What kind of shechita?
How are the neighbors? Are they tzniyusdik?
Do they have an eiruv? Or am I not supposed to ask?
Does their vaad not allow internet or was it just Osama’s frumkeit?
Will my kids be accepted into schools? Are they more chassidish or litvish? Do they speak Yiddish?
What kind of town is it? Is it like Monsey? Lakewood? Boro Park? Out of town?
Does Kova or Bencraft have a branch there?
Rita’s?
These midnight raids-are they a regular occurrence? I could sleep thru most things, but this sounds a bit much.
Do they have good courier service?
How do I get there? Are they still running those helicopter tours?
To which wife do I give the down payment? Do I give it to his son? Which one?
Is there anything else I need to know before I buy?
BSDMemberDear ms, have some hulupshes-you’ll come around.
BSDMemberYou got a deal!!!
BSDMemberZK I guess the controversial ones are just more fun than polite topics are:(
