Some reliable googling:
Most states consider jaywalking a petty misdemeanor, the most lenient type of misdemeanor. Generally if not ignored, it is punished with a fine around or less than $100. But a violator is subject to arrest and sentencing up to six months in jail and a substantial fine.
It is not a felony but it is technically a crime. You’re right people don’t think of it in the sense of being a criminal act. But it is, under the law. Wasn’t that the basis of Joseph’s point.
feivelParticipantMy source is personal knowledge. I’m an academic genius.
But Google properly please. Google: “calcium content of bananas”
Let me know what you get
feivelParticipantMsprincess is a fresh energetic kid. At least by me. Maybe we can cut her some slack
Bananas have 8 mg calcium per cup. Not much. But it’s not zero. And bananas are very helpful in the absorption of calcium from other sources. So there.
feivelParticipantProbably a closer comparison is to liquor.
Due to the layers of control even outside FDA perview
feivelParticipant“Nobody has responded to the point I made earlier (because they can’t)”
I will. Not because I want to, but because I can.
It does not have to pass FDA scrutiny because at this point it is considered an herbal supplement. It cannot be marketed to cure any medical condition. If the marketing claims any possible medical benefit it will have to be accompanied by a “statement hasn’t been evaluated by FDA” type disclaimer. No different than Vitamin E, Ginko, Bilberry, etc. ad nauseum, and the already existing multi billion dollar pseudo medical alternative industry. A number of which products have been found to have potential serious side effects, including dependency and addiction such as Guanara and ephedra

I’m surrounded by so many men, with large families, Who learn full time in Kollel. Whose faces glow with Kedushah. Tzadikim, big Talmeidei Chochomim, honest sweet generous men, menchim every one.
I don’t know a single one who does not learn with a fire and love. I know no one who just hides in the Kollel from working. They all Daven for parnassah. They don’t demand anything.
I am so very fortunate.
I suppose there are people that you describe gavra. I just never saw one.
January 1, 2016 12:32 am at 12:32 am in reply to: Are Kollel Folks Better Jews Than The Rest Of us? #1174354feivelParticipantDY. that was in ancient days in a foreign land. We’re in America now in the twenty-first century.
We’re both modern and enlightened.
December 31, 2015 3:39 pm at 3:39 pm in reply to: What did people do before Rashi invented Rashi tefillin? #1120097feivelParticipantI’ll let someone else comment on oldmans stunning logical analysis.
On another note I wonder if Rabeinu Tam wore Tefillin as per the Minhag of his Zadie, even if he didn’t poskin like him?
December 30, 2015 7:39 pm at 7:39 pm in reply to: Genetically Engineered Animals and Kashrus #1119586feivelParticipantI meant, at the end, towards the side of assuring.
In any case the question “Is there a mesorah or is there not a mesorah” is integral. Within that question various parameters have to be evaluated such as why there isn’t a mesorah.
Please say you understand now.
December 30, 2015 7:21 pm at 7:21 pm in reply to: Genetically Engineered Animals and Kashrus #1119585feivelParticipantWolf. Duh
Indeed you can’t have a mesorah in such a situation. The fact that there happens to be no mesorah is a passive factor militating toward not mutaring. A situation where there COULD have been a mesorah and there is not is a stronger and active factor towards the side of not assuring.
December 30, 2015 5:10 pm at 5:10 pm in reply to: Genetically Engineered Animals and Kashrus #1119578feivelParticipantCharliehall
Your “rebuttal” does not change neither one whit nor one iota the truthfulness of the statement you challenged.
Indeed there IS an issue of mesorah in poskining shailas of kashrus. The fact that turkey and bison have been poskined ( by most) to be mutar doesn’t change the correct fact that mesorah was a factor that was considered in arriving at the psak.
feivelParticipantScouring forums some say it’s good, some say not, some say it’s good but they will certify establishments that are open on Shabbos. I didn’t find it on the CRC list but their list is very machmir and not all inclusive. So I don’t know.
From th ikc website “We are an Orthodox certification. Rabbi Zev Schwarcz, is the Rabbi directing the IKC. He is a graduate and musmach of Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland. He has had over 20 years experience with Kashrus supervision with major kosher certifying agencies. All of our Mashgichim are Orthodox, bnei yeshivos. Our guideline is the Halacha (Jewish Law). We strive to do everything according to Halacha (Jewish Law).”
feivelParticipantWe had a store in my area that sold “apikorsus” books like ” the five books of Miriam” R’L.
I asked a shaila and was told it was permitted for me to enter there and buy products there if I couldn’t get them from elsewhere easily, or if it was more expensive elsewhere.
feivelParticipantI think it’s a Hatzalah call:
“We’ve got a ten-eighty in Boro Park”.
“Copy that, Wilco, Over”
feivelParticipantDaas:
Would you mind briefly summarizing the ikar of that?
Thanks
feivel
feivelParticipantThanks.
Probably there never was a significant other one.
I could probably figure out some gematria
feivelParticipantWhile I was waiting I recalled: there are 1080 chalakim in an hour.
But I think there was something else. I haven’t a clue.
Maybe there isn’t.
December 16, 2015 6:01 pm at 6:01 pm in reply to: Artscroll gemara now coming onto technology #1149434feivelParticipantMA. What you say is completely illogical as has been pointed out.
Nevertheless I am inclined to agree with you.
In general there is a strong thread of true Avodas Hashem in your posts which I find encouraging.
December 13, 2015 11:20 pm at 11:20 pm in reply to: Are chassidic women allowed to fly planes? #1117787feivelParticipantIf the co-pilot was a yekke all the flights would leave EXACTLY two hours late
feivelParticipantYes. That’s why I left, so I could give my mischievous side full rein
feivelParticipantI vote not to close this thread.
I’m fascinatedly enjoying watching to see if it will just peter out eventually, or will it be the longest ridiculous conversation in CR history.
feivelParticipantUbiquitin, 2scents: you do realize you are without a doubt wasting your time responding to “health”. I would recommend throwing in the towel here. And just remembering for future threads what has become crystal clear about “health’s” integrity and honesty.
feivelParticipantWell that’s a drunk who got drunk in a bar. What about the guy who gets drunk at a party at home at work etc. and someone drunk isn’t the one most likely to need particular medical attention.
What about a heart attack, stroke, syncope, seizure, suicide, psychosis. All not necessarily time of day related.
I don’t think it is reasonable to modify EMS protocol for the consideration that the driver is a drunk. And to only apply the protocol late at night.
Why not modify the protocol according to the time of day. Not the number of vehicles? Maybe but this is beginning to seem ridiculous already. You need a reasonable general protocol not a 500 page volume which modifies the approach depending on the various combinations of numerous factors A responder has to have some seichel and experience And training in addition to a generalized protocol to follow
!
feivelParticipantI think you could possibly have a good idea.
What though makes you think an impaired driver in traffic is more likely to veer off the road and hit a pole or something rather than hit another car or cause another car to hit him?
If there is a reasonable explanation for that hypothesis then maybe you’re on to something.
feivelParticipant“Excuse me. The only things that I ever put in exclamation marks was something quoted from elsewhere or that me or others have already posted on YWN!”
Being in the grammar field (I won’t tell you in what capacity) you are speaking about quotation marks, not exclamation marks!!!
feivelParticipantNo I don’t have a better solution!
I don’t see the problem in the existing protocols that would require a solution!
Actually I’ve personally videotaped hundreds of thousands of MVA’s!
You can tell I’m telling the truth because of all my exclamation marks!!!!!!!
December 3, 2015 7:44 pm at 7:44 pm in reply to: Arguing over whether humans are alone in the universe #1115829feivelParticipantZD. I was referring to the proponents of the multiverse theory.
feivelParticipantYour transparent attempt to maintain credibility by innapropriate ubiquitous exclamation marks was not successful.
I often think highly of your opinions. I hope you will be able to restore your credibility here to some extent.
feivelParticipantI think your solution is very intriguing (although in my opinion it is not correct). But your evasiveness and strong repeated implications that it is already standard EMS practice left your credibility in serious doubt.
December 3, 2015 3:37 pm at 3:37 pm in reply to: Arguing over whether humans are alone in the universe #1115823feivelParticipantIt’s an intriguing theoretical possibility which could answer some metaphysical questions.
I don’t think even its proponents consider it a probability.
feivelParticipantYes you have to consider medical causes. Everyone here agrees to this and we don’t need a source.
Now if you will please answer the question we all keep asking you.
WHAT IS YOUR SOURCE FOR DISTINGUISHING BETWEEN SINGLE AND MULTIPLE VEHICULAR ACCIDENTS?
How many times do we have to ask?
feivelParticipantYes something is still bothering me.
I’ll rephrase my question as you demanded:
QUESTION FOR HEALTH TO ANSWER: What is the source of your statement that proper EMS protocol is to approach the evaluation of the victims differently when dealing with a single vehicle accident as opposed to a multi vehicle accident?
If I mischaracterized your statement, then please restate it and then tell us where we can find an authoritative reference that contains your contention.
feivelParticipant“states -“Trauma – Are there medical causes? (e.g. diabetes, CVA, MI, etc.)”
No one is arguing against this.
Does this EMS book state a difference in applying this question depending on the number of vehicles involved?
feivelParticipantYes health PLEASE.
your statement is completely illogical to a number of us here.
PLEASE reference the source, any source, even one please, that there is a different protocol to follow for first responders providing emergency medical care to victims, for a one vehicle accident as opposed to a multi vehicular accident.
Please give us one source we can look into to decide if this discussion is worth pursuing.
Exclamation marks do not add any validity to your claim.
I suspect you have no source. Or perhaps you heard it from an instructor during a course you took. Or perhaps it’s your own chiddush
PLEASE let us know
feivelParticipantOkay
feivelParticipantAnyway that’s what Wikipedia says
feivelParticipantI suppose it’s a matter of relative likelihood.
Seems to me though, it should be an important consideration in all cases.
Probably just another fairly minor distinction useful for selling books and courses, and demonstrating ones knowledge of little known unimportant matters.
feivelParticipantYou should assume possible driver impairment as the cause of a 1 car accident.
Heart attack, stroke, drug use, drunk, suicide, etc.
November 23, 2015 8:15 pm at 8:15 pm in reply to: how you know you are drinking too much coffee! #1113547feivelParticipantYou’re a bigoted insensitive coffee drinker if you go to a Chinese auction to bid on a Starbucks gift card. And that’s not funny.
feivelParticipantfeivelParticipantServe it quietly
feivelParticipantMaybe some ornaments for the Menorah?
feivelParticipantThese posts are very unjosephesque.
I think someone has hijacked his screen name.
feivelParticipantTry to engage the cleaning not as a tircha and a duty, but as a privilege conferred upon you as the royal servant.
feivelParticipantSweep, clean, put everything in order. Slowly carefully and lovingly. Thinking all the time that you are preparing for a visit from the Queen. Perhaps while you are preparing, sing or hum Zmiros in your happiness excitement and anticipation.
feivelParticipantWhen zahavasdad posts on this thread I will disagree with him.

feivelParticipantI agree with Joseph
feivelParticipantZD
your comprehensive knowledge of and strong opinions on nearly every topic mentioned in this forum is really quite amazing.
feivelParticipantYes, I am
So are you.
feivelParticipantI don’t like beer. I’m not fond of drinking the refuse liquids of fungi and bacteria infecting dead vegetable matter.
