    3 boxes

one with apples, one with oranges, one with a mixture of both

one box is labeled “apples”, one is labeled “oranges”, and one is labeled “mixed”

all the boxes are labeled incorrectly

your task, should you decide to accept it

put your hand into one box, take out one fruit

determine from it’s identity, the contents of all the boxes

no tricks (you cant feel around in the box or look inside, etc)

    oomis thats easy

since gold is considered a liquid commodity, it is measured using the standard of the International Magnitude and Criteria Commission, located in Washington, DC

feathers are considered an item of indirect commerce and thus would be measured according to the British Measuration Standards, which is slightly smaller in mass than the IMSC standard.

therefore a pound of feathers would weigh less than a pound of gold

i said i was done arguing so i guess i should agree.

i guess its okay to do whatever you feel in your heart is right, as long as you dont hurt others or society. there is nothing completely objective telling us what to do, i believe in my system of morality and you believe in yours. ultimately each person must decide what is right and wrong. of course, being a good Jew we take a great deal of guidance from the Torah. but of course the Torah can be interpreted in many ways, you take your Rabbaim, and ill take mine.

i mean my mind, my heart are very capable of deciding all issues. we are only influenced just a little by the non-Torah environment we live in. we can still be objective if we try really hard.

my mehalach was formed by looking for the truth and not seeking to fool myself so i could have more pleasures and freedom in this vain world .

you keep saying mehalach as if this was some charm to excuse open rebellion against the Ribbono Shel Olam. yes i have my mehalach and you have yours. im not interested in arguing it further, it is pointless for both of us.

there are 3 stations at the mint

at each station one person is standing and minting coins.

it is known that one of the persons (that is at one station) is shorting every coin by one ounce and pocketing the extra gold. the other two are honest

you have a scale. the type that you put something on it and it gives you the weight, not a balance scale.

due to union regulations you can use the scale only once.

you have 9 coins, all appear identical in every way.

but one of them is a bit heavier than the other 8 coins, which are all equal in weight.

you have an old fashioned balance scale, one with two ears or platforms

making just two weighings, two measurments with the scale (nothing tricky in the wording here, mamish two weighings, each weighing of course consisting of putting some coins on one side and some on the other, doing this 2 times)

determine which is the heavier coin

    again no tricks

    just logic

    heres another why:

we all said naaseh v nishmah

why did we need to say nishmah (we will hear what You want us to do)

obviously we cant do unless we first hear what to do, nishmah is logically implied completely by naaseh

it means we will hear from You what to do, and we will do it even if we dont understand it.

we will hear from You, who told it to Moshe, then to the elders, etc from father to son, from Rebbi to Talmid. not from our own understanding alone.

if You tell us, from this Mesorah, as explained by the poskim who have received and given over the Mesorah, that we may not drive on Shabbos, then we may not drive on Shabbos, even though it seems to us to be okay in order to allow Yidden to go to Shul on Shabbos, even if it seems to be imperative to us in order to preserve the Jewish People. nevertheless we will do only what You tell us is permitted and not follow our crippled, blinded logic.

this has always been the way of the Jewish people, until refarm raised its cancerous head a couple of hundred years ago in order that we should be like the goyim, not a unique beloved people of Hashem, hated by the nations.

the conservitive, reacting to this evil, perpetrated the same blind mistake, albeit for more benign reasons.

they are all outside the Mesorah, they have nothing to do with the life and purpose of Hashem’s people

i dont know much (although i know enough) about all the other made-up, so called branches and sub-branches of the ONE nation of Hashem.

    the answer to 3:

a woman goes into a Mikveh that has been measured and found to be exactly 40 seah before her tvilah, she becomes mutar to her husband and the Mikveh becomes pasul because of the water that is removed upon her as she exits the Mikveh. a Gemorrah states this din explicitly.

the get isnt called a posul get after its been given. the woman saves it. if a shaila should arise regarding the divorce she would present it to Bais Din. they would examine it, question witnesses, determine if the get was kosher or pasul, its not pasul because it was given. just like a receipt for a payment isnt pasul, or a shtar used to purchase land isnt called a pasul shtar after its given

    2) Meat which requires salting, and the salt used in the kashering process

    yes, that’s it!

3)one thing that was formerly kosher, after interacting with a second thing, is now pasul, the second thing that was assur, now after interacting with the first thing, becomes mutar. there is one interaction, one maaseh which accomplishes an opposite-like effect in two different objects (or persons). your scenario does not fulfill this.

“Hashem is the True Judge, the only One who is really qualified to evaluate our behavior”

actually there are quite a few areas in Halachah that require us to judge our fellow Yid

in determining whether or not to believe Lashon HaRA, in what manner to believe it, whether you may or even be required to repeat it, etc. you need to decide whether the person is a Rasha, whether he does certain avairos, how he does them, does he do tshuva.

in the laws of tochachah, the persons level of observance has to be evaluated, is the aveira meforish in the Torah (eating pork on purpose), does the aveirah involve an open publicized rebellion from the psakim of the Gdolim (ie wearing certain colors, women wearing mens garments as defined by current Poskim).

the Gemorah as you must well know is packed all over with judgements that a common Yid must pass on his fellow and act on it

    im sorry

    im impatient

    heres the first one

    by far the most difficult

it is assur for a man to examine himself in a mirror.

it is assur to allow a goy to give a man a haircut (sakana)

but it is mutar to allow a goy to give one a haircut if there is a mirror for the man to watch the whole process.

and it is mutar to examine oneself in a mirror if it for the purpose of allowing a goy to cut his hair in a mutar fashion.

if anyone is still interested, number two is the easiest and is based on a very well known Halachah, it’s just a matter of thinking of it.

    3 riddles

    the first two are old

the third one i made up

i cant vouch for the Halachic veracity of the answers

    1. two actions are assur, done together they are both mutar

    2. two objects, one is mutar, one is assur. when brought together the mutar item becomes assur. the assur item becomes mutar (nothing to do with the parah aduma)

    3. two “items” are brought together, one is kosher one is assur. the kosher item becomes pasul. the asur item becomes mutar (nothing to do with the Parah Adumah)

the ban on lead in bullets was begun to protect people. they did a multi-million dollar very large study, multi-institutional, funded by the federal government and National Institutes of of Health, regulated by the Federal Drug Administration, and monitored by the CDC.

it was found that when people were shot with lead bullets they often developed very serious health problems as well as a high frequency of death.

    look at this guys website

he proposes delivering bicarbonate to the tumors using medical vascular catheters, or oral antifungal prescription medicine

besides you think someone with cancer, in general, wants to get treated by a health food shop, or by their doctor

do you grow penicillin in your back yard, or ever heard of someone who does?

oncologists do not make millions (per year)

someone administering a sure fire cure for cancer, could easily make 20, 30, 40 or more millions a year.

    what are you arguing about?

in reply to: Cancer is a Fungus? #896273

“How would the pharmacies make a living if everyone would be healed with natural products, that they are not allowed to patent”

specific formulations of natural products, as well as extraction techniques are patentable. many of the standard medications used today are extracted from natural products (ie penicillin, wasnt always generic)

“every oncologist is aware of all these alternative treatments. But the ones in charge do everything possible not to let the word out about it.”

if even one oncologist, out of thousands, was aware, and began using the miraculous product, he would soon be making millions of dollars a year, i assure you other oncologists would soon hear about it and began using it too.

even if there were a conspiracy, believe me the prospect of making so much money would soon cause a huge secession from the conspiracy. plenty of greedy doctors out there.

however “snotty disdain” is a bit childish.

“arrogant disdain” is a bit more mature, as well as more focused.

i dont agree that it was condescending at all, it was a disagreement.

your interpretation of it as condescending might have something to do with the fact that im fairly sure you have over the years heard a lot of people make fun of your profession. easy to develop a feeling of inferiority after a while, and interpret negative statements as condescending. if you so interpret my comments, thats up to you.

if the tone of my posts bespeaks my real attitude and feelings, well i hope so, i wouldnt want to post anything else but.

i imagine you took this as sarcastic: “im sure you have inspired countless Jews with it.” it could have been meant sarcastically, but it wasnt. believe it or not

i tried to end this on a pleasant note, unsuccessfully apparently.

for me the discussion is over
