Randomex- I noticed, and really respect you for that. And I’m enjoying, once again, your ability to simplify and clarify a complex matter. Like my non-sensical subtitle. But it was supposed to sound really deep and I left it up to interpretation… (though I did have some kinda idea as to what I was talking about!)

I’ve never served and don’t ever plan on it though even if I wanted to I wouldn’t last half a day there- soooo not my speed, all the danger and fear…
But I admire and respect the courage and fearlessness and bravery and stamina and tolerance and determination and sacrifice and responsibility and discipline, etc. of those who did serve in the army. They put their lives on the line for the lives of their brothers and sisters (like myself). May Hashem bless them with life- lives of quality and richness in all areas.

Randomex: Popa, with all his external trappings and white little lies, has a good little heart and nice, real person trolling inside. Therefore, I have no problem calling him Popa and responding to him genuinely. (Did I make any sense over here? Not sure :))

Assuming you’re talking about money for the child’s counseling and not speech or physical therapy:

I say it would be inappropriate to contribute anything at all. His life didn’t even start yet, and already you’re looking for solutions to non-existent problems? “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. If you have your own issues, spend the money on therapy for yourself so that your kid needn’t suffer. Or on a parenting workshop. Build your kid’s self esteem, be alert to and aware of issues as they arise, love your kid and tell him about it, give him security- and you’ve saved yourself lots of money and heartache down the line.

I wish I’d have the patience and mental stamina to study or even read all the relevant posts and know why I should hate PAA. But in my ignorance, I’m skipping to stage 3. Stage 1 being loving him for no reason not to, stage 2- hating him for his shrewd nastiness, and stage 3- loving that shrewd nastiness which masks a delightful sense of humor and a person with quality and depth.

You know how some people would never hurt a fly? I would. And a centipede. If I could catch him quickly enough. If not, then with deodorant. And all the ants on the counter. And the spider lurking in my ceiling’s corner. And MOSQUITOES. The nerve they have, sucking my blood without asking or paying. And the bees in the Succah!!! They scare the daylights out of me, when I’m minding my private business like slurping my own soup, and that nasty thing buzzes in my ear. For sure! But not a cockroach. Can’t stand that CRUNCH. And I’d hurt any other animal kingdom thing that dare disturb my piece of mind. If it doesn’t spray me, etc.
