Oh! RebYidd23 I have read many of your posts and I am surprised by this one that you really believe that Ret— use is intensive, REALLY. I quote “If people are brave enough to face the social stigma to use this very special, expressive word, it is simply rude to stop them.” I expected better from you but we all live and learn. Thank G-d you do not have a mentally challenged child (if you are old enough) or a sibling if not. Here is the definition of the noun Moron: Early 20th century (as a medical term denoting an adult with a mental age of about 8–12): from Greek mōron, neuter of mōros ‘foolish’. Not quite the same as reta—- But anyway have at it and thank Hashem every day that you find no offence because it has not impacted your life so far. I give you a Beracha (probally dont want it from me) that you never have the pain of a relative who is labeled Ret—. all the best.
everyyidisspecialParticipantWhy not use Moron instead, no social stigma and only offensive to actual Morons. I think using the Ret— word is very insensitive. This is my first post and likely my last mainly because most posters are relatively kind but there are some that are outright hateful, mean and violate the laws of lashon harah. I am sure I will take a lot of heat for this post. But please consider Moron at least…. P.S. even though I believe that Trump should not have twitter I think right now he is good for the USA.
