when people say “it takes two to tango” when that’s not always true
December 19, 2010 1:15 am at 1:15 am in reply to: Can you please recommend an immigration lawyer? #718982eclipseMemberI’m not sure who would know the answer.Basically,my passport is totally up-to-date,but the last few times I traveled(and I haven’t in a few years because of this)they gave me a really hard time at immigration, insisting I relinquish my Landed Immigrant status. That would make it almost impossible for me to move back there, which I really hope to do one day.I was only traveling as a U.S.visitor for 2 or 3 days with a valid U.S. passport.I suspect someone(possibly ex)has something to do with this recent change, but I really am clueless as to how to clear the never-before-a-problem current problem.
eclipseMemberer…um…how do follow that?

Q.Is that our old challah knife?
A.New!
Q.Are you wearing an old shmatte again?
A.New!!
Q.Do you want to go to that stale sem?
A.(with vigorous head-shaking)New!

December 15, 2010 8:58 pm at 8:58 pm in reply to: Does Everyone Have Their Own 'Peckel' Even Though They Look Happy? #717607eclipseMemberMotzi Shem Ra CAN take away someone’s shem tov.(see thread title”motzi shem ra follows me like a cloud”).Meaning, the person is innocent.
Aside from that, yes,a shem tov is very valuable.
I don’t know if people who suffered terrible losses (ex.young child r”l,or terminal illness)would agree that aside from a shem ra there are no significant tzoros. It’s a bit general.
eclipseMemberI heard “in a row”,but I agree with you!
eclipseMemberblueprints,visit more threads then.Or rather:then!!!!!!!!!!
eclipseMemberHow about these?
-7 boys in a row “you go straight to gan eden”
-Chilul Hashem and Motzi Shem Ra…no full teshuva
-Tooth Fairy Benefit Card(part of Obama’s Stimulus Package)
-What goes around comes around
-what goes up must come down

December 15, 2010 6:08 pm at 6:08 pm in reply to: Sounds Like A Good Idea, Right? Uh Oh, Maybe Not! #718150eclipseMember“Blankie” is not good for the kid to walk around with forever.Mommy needs to look good in case she needs to send her photo to anyone!!Just kidding, but Mommy’s wig(if that kinda money was already spent anyway)is necessary to cover Mommy’s hair.
BUT,YOU ARE RIGHT,EACH OF US HAS PROBABLY DEVELOPED ONE “DOUBLE STANDARD” OR ANOTHER…If I have to tell my child to stop doing something I unfortunately slip up in myself,I do say,”I’m working on this too.We are all working on this.”
