onegoal just gave me an idea–you can go to HELP THIS JEW.com
and if they “accept” the case, the money is raised!!Can anyone post the exact link?I don’t know how.
eclipseMembertruth be told:
I fully agree that the rules are for everyone,as I agreed with bachur24.
But in my experience being asked to intercede as shadchan I personally did not once experience that type of attitude from the girls. The contrast was hard to miss.
If you read my posts carefully, you will see that we are still on the same page.
eclipseMemberplayer of “When Zaidy Was Young”:Sapphire
eclipseMemberIt comes from “knowing” the world of girls is seemingly at their fingertips.I will reiterate that while HUMILITY is not an EZ-PASS
directly to your basherte,it sure goes a long way.Confidence with humility is healthy.
eclipseMemberI won’t quote them bec.they may be in the CR for all I know.
eclipseMemberYou are 100% right,bochur24,but since I also redt people shidduchim(by personal request of friends),you cannot imagine the arrogance I encounter from the “List Boys”– in their 30s mind you. It’s appalling.
eclipseMemberYou remind me of a really nice lady I know.
eclipseMemberI should add also that a frum travel agent might go out of his/her way for you,if your story strikes a chord.(Keep it honest!)
eclipseMembercute!
eclipseMemberWow,those are horror stories.
It seems that the only guys who stay humble are those who have gone thru something.
The arrogance of a guy who gets redt too many girls is nauseating.
eclipseMemberthanks all,I don’t have any pain meds around so trust me,a doctor I shall see.
eclipseMemberTell yourself “I’m a trend-setter!”
Trust me,people have had hairstyles carry their name long after them BECAUSE they were different.
Example:Dorothy Hamil,Lady Di,Farrah Fawcett,etc.
eclipseMemberIsn’t this in the category of “hamalbin es pnei chaveiro”?Shticky, you’re not the “mean” type,so why…?
eclipseMemberthnks,Mods.
eclipseMemberAnd all along I’ve been taking deep breaths to relax…
eclipseMemberMeant the mani and pedi:)
eclipseMembersapphire,gr8 poem.
eclipseMemberOy vey,I hate being misunderstood!
That example was a JOKE.
I am not married, and if I was I would NEVER POST SUCH A THING.
I was imitating what people call “shmiras haloshon”.
eclipseMemberI didn’t know that younger people have a stronger gag reflex.Interesting.
eclipseMemberSee?For every scenario, there is SOMEONE who experienced it!
eclipseMemberI missed 2 brothers’ weddings in Israel($).It wasn’t the end of the world but you don’t get to know anyone at any point really well.Which isn’t fantastic.
TRY YOUR BEST,LET G-D DO THE REST.
Some practical advice.ALWAYS GET 3 different TRAVEL AGENCY PRICES AND THEN DECIDE.You can’t imagine how widely ranged the prices can be.I’m too tired to fix those caps, sorry.
eclipseMemberGuess I gotta face the music…any way I turn,there’s a doctor involved!
eclipseMemberHumming–are you the oldest in your family?

eclipseMemberJudging from the response, make that there WEREN’T MY BOOTS.I put someone else’s boots on,and they called the Chinese Shomrim.
eclipseMemberI’m pretty sure that was the idea!
eclipseMemberdeizooger,perfect!
eclipseMemberMy mother used to make me a “gugel-mugel”.I think I fell asleep trying to figure out if I could swallow a raw egg mixed with warm milk and honey.
eclipseMemberSinuses makes sense.I hpoe that’s all it is,because I hate going to the dentist.
eclipseMemberthanks,all!
dunno,just read the article.CRAZY!
Now I have to start a thread “Do you think my tooth’s in my ear?”
eclipseMemberAt first, complimenting oneself seems awkward, but after awhile you realize the freedom that comes with NOT WAITING AROUND until someone else finally does.
When the uplifting words come from someone else,it’s special!
But until then,don’t wait around…
eclipseMemberI guess the “lox” was orange and the “cholent” was chocolate?
eclipseMemberJust missed the one I was supposed to go on…because I got sick!
I’ll have to take a raincheck.Honestly I was too sick to care.

By me,the opposite, the ex pressed my relatives.
I guess the bottom line is relatives should know their place!!
I used to be “popular” in my family. Not so,today.
HOWEVER:I DO FEEL CLOSELY CONNECTED TO HASHEM,EVEN WHEN I’M COMPLAINING TO HIM.Like I don’t totally “get it” obviously, but I know He’s the ONLY one who can straighten it all out.
eclipseMemberHow can I tell?
eclipseMemberthere WERE my boots

eclipseMembertruth be told; I didn’t get what you wrote.Did you know I meant MALE tycoon or not?
eclipseMemberThe Aack part was to yossi z.
eclipseMemberAack?
The only one I know who ever said “Aack!” were the Peanut characters. Are you a fan?
Welcome guardmytongue!!(belatedly)
eclipseMemberWeather forecast:”Rain, sleet and snow, with a chance of plowing”.
eclipseMembergefilte fish.
In Toronto, there is no “heimish” label for people.
And ironically,”The Heimish Bakery” was 100% treife and open on Shabbos. We had to tell all the meshulachim who came to town…
February 1, 2011 3:22 am at 3:22 am in reply to: Of your Shidduch related decisions what would you change if you could #735797eclipseMemberShould we rename this thread Watermelon Monologue?(please don’t!) It’s kinda embarrassing.Someone pipe in with a word or two,eh?

February 1, 2011 3:11 am at 3:11 am in reply to: Of your Shidduch related decisions what would you change if you could #735795eclipseMemberAnd the issues were NOT money!I lived on nothing and didn’t care(until he pretended we had LESS than nothing).Don’t mind me,I’ve just been sick and working hard and dealing with some annoying people. Can I be VIRTUALLY CRANKY? Gotta be grumpy somewhere!
February 1, 2011 3:07 am at 3:07 am in reply to: Of your Shidduch related decisions what would you change if you could #735794eclipseMemberWhen I first got married I wrote a beautiful novel about couples enjoying the true beauty of kollel life.I wish I still felt like publishing it,because even Feldheim said it was well-written,but I felt so totally betrayed by it all,I actually dumped it.I’m like,”Who wrote this??” Sad,but true.
February 1, 2011 2:11 am at 2:11 am in reply to: Of your Shidduch related decisions what would you change if you could #735793eclipseMemberGoq, t.y. It’s taking forever to feel back to myself, but I’m trying.
