ok!
eclipseMemberWhy?It’s still true.
eclipseMemberIt should be “twin your Pesach with….”
eclipseMemberAs long as your post has nothing to do with anything anyone else said besides apples, sure.
Try oranges,see what happens.
eclipseMemberpopa…I have a student who’s a baalas teshuva and she expressed the same sentiment. To quote her,”With feminism,we shot ourselves in the foot”!
February 2, 2011 7:22 pm at 7:22 pm in reply to: Just curious . What does everyone do for a living? #1119638eclipseMemberI mother, write, edit, teach, organize small “things”,wonder what it’s like OUTDOORS,and try to tear myself away from the MAGNETIC coffee room.
eclipseMemberThis sounds like a true American conversation….parallel conversations….
eclipseMemberI also can’t figure it out.
I just keep telling myself, until a person has the nisayon of money they can’t know for sure how well they’d handle it.
February 2, 2011 7:14 pm at 7:14 pm in reply to: Bracha Comes To What Is Hidden From The Eye #735122eclipseMemberAries,you know what’s funny?I can’t ever tell the CR anything I’m doing on the side K’lal-wise cause I’d blow my cover FOREVER!No fair…
Although I have nightmares when I think about the lurkers who ALREADY know who I am….Hello, creepy peeps.
eclipseMemberSame personality, not enough hours in the day
eclipseMember“bemuse” = ready to “behead”?

February 2, 2011 6:50 pm at 6:50 pm in reply to: Of your Shidduch related decisions what would you change if you could #735836eclipseMemberOn a more serious note,RIGHT NOW MY CHILDREN NEED ME.I don’t know how I could divide myself without EVERYONE feeling they are not getting their true needs met.If mothering is BORUCH HASHEM a full time job now…?
February 2, 2011 6:46 pm at 6:46 pm in reply to: Of your Shidduch related decisions what would you change if you could #735835eclipseMemberAlso when you’re 21,you both have less “little annoying habits” to tolerate from each other.
It was bad enough having to teach the first one to wear deoderant, who wants to teach a middle-aged settled person to put smelly socks in the hamper and wash his beard with shampoo!
I am OVERSIMPLIFYING on purpose, but I am SURE that at least one divorced person out there is reading this and going,Ohhhhhmygosh!Totallllllly!”
Come on,gals,a little support?
February 2, 2011 6:42 pm at 6:42 pm in reply to: Of your Shidduch related decisions what would you change if you could #735834eclipseMemberBlogging allows my best self to come forward.
I think before I post.
I edit my post if it needs it.
I request its deletion if I forsee a problem even after it goes up.
I can choose an intriguing “image” by way of a screen name.
In real life…for most people,
there is in-the-moment emotion,morning breath,SCARY aging stuff with posture,skin,energy,etc.
A whole lot less glamorous!
eclipseMemberpsach, when the boys I was redting shidduchim to would tell me they wanted a tall, beautiful, slim girl with olive(sic) skin and round green eyes ,kind soft and gentle and also be willing to work full time cause they planned to learn forever… I told them one of 3 things.
1.I know girls with SOME of the qualities you mentioned, but not ALL in one person, would you care to hear about a girl with only SOME?
2.I think a totally perfect human being with zero faults would have completed her tafkid by now…she wouldn’t need to be here anymore!
3.If I do manage to find a girl with all that in my lists,do you mind giving me a better idea OF WHAT YOU YOURSELF WILL BE BRINGING TO THE PICTURE?
eclipseMemberBlinky!!You just woke up?
eclipseMemberHealth,I respectfully disagree with you strongly!
Bedside manners is HOW YOU TALK TO YOUR PATIENTS.
Being abused by the system as you describe cannot affect the way you treat VULNERABLE PATIENTS IN PAIN AND DISCOMFORT.
If that’s what it does to a person, said person needs to switch jobs.
No one needs a doctor that makes them feel worse.
eclipseMemberSome say hakoras hatov is THE foundation for being a good Jew.All that’s good stems from APPRECIATION,if you think about it.
eclipseMemberWhen I told my 8 year old that sometimes the weather is “crazy” because people forget that Hashem runs the world,he looked at me and said,”Not in our family”.Made my day!
eclipseMemberI keep trying different things!
1.Put it away and set time limits.
2.Reward myself if I accomplish certain goals.
3.Beat myself up for spending too much time on it ANYWAY.
4.As soon as a certain project I’m in the middle of is done,I’m going back to my old life!I will miss the CR a lot but everything’s got a price!
February 2, 2011 3:59 pm at 3:59 pm in reply to: Bracha Comes To What Is Hidden From The Eye #735120eclipseMemberAre you saying the chazal CAN’T be applied to tznius?
eclipseMembergotta put more F(flavor?) in your coffee screen name!
Unless you spell it that way on purpose?
Anyway,you deserve it!
eclipseMemberThanks,it’s taking forever!
February 2, 2011 2:54 pm at 2:54 pm in reply to: Bracha Comes To What Is Hidden From The Eye #735118eclipseMemberHonestly,I think I anyone who lives in Brooklyn with the nisyonos of infertility/secondary infertility is saintly for just LIVING here, surrounded by expectant mothers and baby carriages, clothing stores, school buses, etc.
It used to bother me that my younger kids didn’t always want to wear their matching outfits on the same day,and then I realized it’s better that way.
It’s cute to match, but it does attract more attention.
Also,it just occurred to me,that a single girl/guy can try to convince themselves that maybe their married friends aren’t perfectly happy or whatever, but a childless couple knows the joy
a child brings-EVEN IF THE CHILD BECOMES VERY DIFFICULT,OR CAUSES PAIN LATER ON IN LIFE,everyone wants at least a chance!
I have suffered many trials and tribulations in the last 4 decades, but my children are a blessing I do not take for granted.
And though some of my tests are directly connected to them, and I do hope for many things,it’s still easier,I’m guessing, than the emptiness, and the curious stares, and utterly idiotic remarks people say to childless women, especially.
Ok,I need to breathe.
February 2, 2011 2:37 pm at 2:37 pm in reply to: Bracha Comes To What Is Hidden From The Eye #735117eclipseMemberI am glad I NEVER had to wear the so-called mat.clothes they sell today. It was so much classier to be covered elegantly, even in “kollel” clothes.
eclipseMemberbeautifully wrapped
eclipseMemberE-mail is overrated
They said I was so outdated
I wait for information
On the project situation
The cave men just SPOKE!!”antiquated”
eclipseMemberThanks,I’m trying to keep making those teas. But it actually feels good to be running the house this past week with almost no voice, just proves IT CAN BE DONE!It hurts my throat when I have to repeat myself, but a calmer atmosphere in general.
Thanks,Hashem.
eclipseMemberBEST NEGOTIATOR:COFFEEFAN
ALL HEART:ARIES
LEAST FREQUENT POSTER:BBUBEE(If it wasn’t that way,I’d be worried!Do you sell chicken soup?)
Truthfully,I have a special place in my virtual heart for all the female posters, and must admit I’ve learned a lot from many “other” posters as well!
eclipseMemberI was too sick to go out so called for the antibiotics but never got it.Thanks for asking!
eclipseMemberHealth, sorry no help, but I had fun writing my little play anyway!Wow,probation! So howcome soooo many docs still have horrible bedside manners?
cshapiro,I once had the same question as you re:that gender either “loving” you or “hating” you–it was explained to me.
Simply put:Once spurned,it can literally go 360degrees the other way–fast.
eclipseMemberSapphire,this “jewel” is for you
Since I’m up coughing,that,in lieu
Of the antibiotics
That smell like orthotics
Which never ended up getting through!

Because I KNOW this diamond is real and very valuable.
IfI’m not sure myself how much value it has, than boy,am I going to want to keep it at a distance from you so you can’t ever see it TOO CLEARLY.

But the only way to be safe from future abuse is TO BE FULLY ACCEPTING OF ONESELF,FLAWS AND ALL.Then you are emotionally safe.
Ain’t there.
