s2021…don’t you love when they say…”send him love, send him forgiveness”….I want to say I was thinking more like a mail bomb…JUST KIDDING EVERYONE,but I couldn’t resist.
March 22, 2011 4:47 am at 4:47 am in reply to: I think of death a lot. Do you? why is it so ignored? #751066eclipseMemberHealth…I can’t create my own miracle. If Hashem thinks it’s a good idea,He will lead me down that path somehow. For now, apparently,He agrees with me!:)
eclipseMemberMother Theresa does not approve of this violence!
eclipseMemberI smile politely and say “I’m a single mother now” or just “I’m not…”(ie.married–understood by the pause)
With the smile, they don’t feel like they made me uncomfortable.
And when the inevitable “I’m so sorry” comes,I say “It’s better this way” or “It needed to happen” and THE CONVERSATION MOVES ON.
(when the person has brains, that is)

About the first thing you said…my feelings on that matter have not yet changed! Only a miracle can do that.
eclipseMemberCharlie…think.:)
March 22, 2011 4:11 am at 4:11 am in reply to: I think of death a lot. Do you? why is it so ignored? #751059eclipseMemberI am not scared of it,either.
But I would want to live long to be there for my children and hopefully grandchildren,b’ezras Hashem.
I also want more PRECIOUS TIME to “accumulate points” in Olam Haba.
And I was told certain types of gehinnom down here cancel one’s “reservation” up there.Hope that’s so.
eclipseMembers2021:Your ex sounds like a real treasure….
Health:…because I have become predictable?
March 22, 2011 3:23 am at 3:23 am in reply to: single guy and single girl talkin about shidduchim #911478eclipseMemberWhen in doubt….do without.
eclipseMemberGrandmaster,no one can argue that. But then,no one lost their beauty it seems.I mean, they lived who-knows-how-long.
eclipseMemberIt depends if you made a kiddush for your daughter when she was born, and other kabbalistic factors.
Oh,what am I saying?
I meant “their moods”.
eclipseMembersmartcookie: I agree.
s2021: Totally! It bothers me when my daughters keep hearing about their(ka”h) appearance, and no one talks about character. It makes girls think that’s all others notice,so it must be EXTREMELY important!
If I am able to,I add “She’s beautiful on the inside, too”–just so they hear that it matters.Once they are teens, though,it sounds bit juvenile(for me to say that) and plus it’s better to feel pretty than have a zillion complexes.
MY POINT HERE IS:
Let’s compliment what we want to see more of: GOOD CHARACTER!!!
eclipseMembermetrodriver…I was not referring to Mr.X as I never thought of him as “handsome”.I just meant that middos are better developed SOMETIMES in more average-looking people because there is no “distraction” of beauty.
I personally see beauty in MOST people I know (everyone has something special about them),but I meant the way the world at large sees “beauty”.
I also feel that our youthful appearance is more likely to remain with us if we are kind to others…I don’t know why, maybe it’s plain old wishful thinking? Fear of aging?
March 22, 2011 2:53 am at 2:53 am in reply to: I think of death a lot. Do you? why is it so ignored? #751057eclipseMemberSender…my mother also had that illness. But that’s not why. It’s because in certain ways,my life events have followed a similar track, and I sometimes wonder where the similarities will end…
eclipseMemberHealth–and humble?
eclipseMemberAvak Loshon Hora?
eclipseMemberIt’s a well-written letter, and it will impress those who know how true it is.
But don’t hold your breath waiting for convoluted media controllers to portray the truth.
Lies sell more papers.
March 22, 2011 1:30 am at 1:30 am in reply to: Rishai Yisroel Afilu Al Pischai Shel Gehenom Ain Choizrin #751440eclipseMemberBeing that reshai’im are busy with a lifetime of “rasha v’tov lo”…they are fooled into thinking they are being rewarded for their tzidkus(partially true). This is reinforced by others who see things similarly. So when and why should they ever contemplate doing teshuvah??
Yes,cucumber,this is made-up.
March 22, 2011 1:23 am at 1:23 am in reply to: I think of death a lot. Do you? why is it so ignored? #751050eclipseMemberI think about death in these 3 main contexts:
#1: Hayom kotzer v’hamlacha meruba…we must accomplish,and correct ourselves.
#2: Also,I look forward to being surrounded by truth, absolute truth.
#3: I wonder if I will merit to outlive the age of my mother, who was nifteres at the age of 50.
eclipseMemberI remember when it didn’t hurt to be on my feet 24/7.Then again,I remember when I wasn’t ON my feet 24/7.Hmmm.
eclipseMemberLike people who can’t use beauty as a free pass in life have to be nice, sincerely nice?
eclipseMemberSomeone once made me roll down my window(when I used to have a car),JUST TO TELL ME THAT I’M STUPID.Did I mention that I love New York?
eclipseMemberthank you,sir/ma’am!
eclipseMembers2021…the response by the “rebitzen” was hilarious!
It reminds me of one of my own impersonation voices.I call it the “chally-pulky” voice.(“take a chally, have a pulky…”)
eclipseMembers2021..that too!(not all,some)
eclipseMemberI’m not sure if that was meant positively, chayav, but Hashem has seen fit to send me quite a few simultaneous tests recently,so I guess my mind has been focused on addressing them.Since I’m back to my least favorite thing: stopping what I’m doing to check for important e-mails–I check in to the CR sometimes too.
eclipseMemberthe Goq…I thought of that too!!
eclipseMembermw13–exactly!
cshapiro–I charge for overtime!:)
eclipseMemberUm..ahem…sooo,how’s the weather?:)
eclipseMemberCalculated destruction of another human being with Nazi-like precision earns you a deluxe suite in you-know-where.
You are also responsible for any children who are turned off of frumkeit because you are a monster underneath your facade.
Do I sound upset? I’m sorry. It’s a touchy subject for me.
eclipseMemberI hear you cucumber.
But an abuser who suffered MUST STOP THE PERPETUATION of that which made him suffer…because he is NOW GUILTY TOO.
And the people who ENABLE the abuser to abuse while showering him with support are NO LESS GUILTY.
eclipseMemberAnd THAT,deizooger,is what gives me comfort.
eclipseMemberThen there is always “OUT-OF-THE-BOX PRODUCTIONS”…(free ad,thanks)
eclipseMemberTeens see right through insincerity.
eclipseMemberRaya…you may be right. My memory is overloaded!
Your version does make more sense.
eclipseMemberHey cucumber, misplaced rachmonus is what caused the story of Purim…the abusers are suffering??
Do you also feel sorry for Hitler and Saddam Hussein?
eclipseMemberThe first box represents a person who is ever-complacent with his midos and leads an entirely superficial life.
The 3 boxes represent the above person with 2 of his friends.
eclipseMemberA devout chossid indeed.
eclipseMembermytake,i’ve been saying that for years!
People say…abusive people are “nebach not well”.
I say they are suffering from BADMIDOSITIS!!
eclipseMemberdeizooger and metro–whatever I ever said/did that may have been wrong/embarrassing has been captured on tape and video for posterity.
But the BEFORE AND AFTER SCENES of my anguished words were NOT.
So it’s time for the REAL EMES TO COME OUT…not the “spliced version”.
eclipseMemberThanks,the jokes were adorable.
Friends in need are friends indeed!
eclipseMemberNo…for details see the thread “Disciplined User”.
For financial reasons,in 3 words.
eclipseMemberThey only help people when they have the humilty and saychel to COMBINE THEIR BOOK SMARTS WITH TORAH CONCEPTS AND COMMON SENSE.
