Just saw it on a friend…not a fan…
dunnoMemberNow the question is who those 3 are lol
dunnoMemberI’m not speaking from a girl’s perspective but I’d assume if a nice short story with a nice message/vort in it came up– and was relevant to the conversation, then it would be fine. It would just be akward/boring if it was a planned monologue… am I right?
Yes.
dunnoMemberI don’t agree with “red head” either. I like when guys bring Torah into the conversations. Granted, I’m not gonna understand a long, hard Gemara but a little here and there is definitely not a turn off.
March 4, 2011 5:51 am at 5:51 am in reply to: I feel like I had some part in this Shidduch…. #746744dunnoMemberI would give it up and wish them the best. I can’t stand when people only want to make shidduchim if they know they’ll get shadchanus out of it.
dunnoMemberDepends what number date it is. For the first date I would pick the dress.
dunnoMembers2021
I forgot to mention coats. They’re great if I’m just running somewhere – I don’t have to get all dressed!
dunnoMemberSephora does it for free but I think it’s very wrong to have it done without the intention of buying anything.
dunnoMemberCount me in for the black tights! I’m dreading the switch!
dunnoMemberLol cshapiro. I can’t wait to read it! But I actually dated a guy a few times and all the dates were long (about 5 hours). It didn’t stop me from liking him… If other guys would have done it though…
dunnoMemberLike everyone said earlier, it’s way better than the subway.
February 28, 2011 9:13 pm at 9:13 pm in reply to: Derogatory labels and typecasting in Shidduchim #745779dunnoMemberWhat’s wrong with someone quiet?
dunnoMemberPants and a t-shirt. No way I’m going to be in long sleeves in an all girls gym!
dunnoMemberI heard R’ Matisyahu Solomon spoke recently against girls going to college.
dunnoMemberI’m with Shmuel. Texting can be used for good and bad just like many other things.
dunnoMemberI often leave small love notes on heart-shaped Post-Its around the house for Eeees. When she finds them, she hangs them up in the kitchen. Currently the entire doorframe leading from the kitchen to the dining room is covered in them. She says that it reminds her. 🙂
Aww!
dunnoMemberWhat was it?

Foxs’ has skirts?? Guess where I’m headed this week!
dunnoMembercofeefan
I know you mentioned it a while ago but which manicure place has “Delicius”? I went to two places and they didn’t have it 🙁
dunnoMemberI’m with yogibooboo on this one. Rabbi Falk is known to be VERY machmir. But if you want to follow it, good for you.
dunnoMemberMmother/mother and father/father are standard? I see that about the same as mother/father and mother/father…
dunnoMembermom12
Sugar? Never heard of that.
dunnoMemberWe always stood up for teachers in school.
At one point I would stand up for my parents but they said they’re mochel it.

Please follow APY’s advice.

I know of two off the top of my head. I wanted to post their names but was scared of getting bashed.

“Why dont you bring along your own CY milk,in a little bottle, then you won’t have a problem”
“I try not to eat dairy equipment…that wouldn’t pose a problem?”
“That’s why I only drink coffee (and tea) from Starbucks.”
Quite Contradictory
Maybe I’m missing something but I don’t see the contradiction.
dunnoMemberI don’t think it’s a bad idea but I doubt it will end up happening.
dunnoMembercshapiro
If it’s something that will bother you in the long run then I wouldn’t suggest you go into it. You don’t want to be turned off by your husband.
dunnoMember1dayatatime
Real funny! Get serious for a minute here!
Daas Yochid
That’s why I only drink coffee (and tea) from Starbucks. There are drinks there that are parve but made in dairy equipment so I don’t have that.
And I checked the article but that dates back to ’07. I’m gonna research updates to it. Thanks though!

Mazel tov!

I don’t either agree with your approach. You’d be surprised how many shidduchim come about that you would never have dreamed of. Not giving a reason makes a person think that there’s a bigger problem than there probably is.
dunnoMember1dayatatime
I try not to eat dairy equipment…that wouldn’t pose a problem? But really, I heard of cholov yisrael ones. Someone tell me where they are!
dunnoMember1dayatatime
Water is for lounges. Coffee is for Starbucks and Dunkin if I can find a cholov yisrael one.
February 15, 2011 7:24 pm at 7:24 pm in reply to: to marry a singer or not.. thats the question! #741726dunnoMember“i also have seen first hand of innocent ybc/mbc boys becoming totally less frum”
And I’ve seen the opposite too.
I’m with Sac – find me a “sociable young, handsome, frum singer.”
I’m good with that 🙂
dunnoMemberWhere is there a cholov yisrael Dunkin in Brooklyn/Manhattan? And what’s allowed?
dunnoMemberLeizor
You want a watch. Whether it’s a big deal or not, you’re not getting one. It’s up to you whether you want to start a fight about it. Like Wolf said, what’s more important? The girl or the watch? In my opinion you should focus on your kallah more than on superficial things.
dunnoMemberI can live my own life with out being controlled by anyone.
Whether or not you use your own money you have an obligation to listen to your parents.
dunnoMember1dayatatime
As discussed earlier, that only happens in my house.
dunnoMemberTough situation. Sorry I don’t have advice but good luck!
dunnoMembertopthis
How is it a chat room? It’s a forum which is moderated – hence the “edited” on your post.
dunnoMember1dayatatime
Are you done your rant yet? 🙂
dunnoMembercshapiro
Great!
dunnoMemberSince when are so many CR members from BP??
I say good shabbos to all females. I answer to all males. I find it pathetic though when guys around my age are immature and say good shabbos with a “knowing wink”.
dunnoMemberBlackberry doesn’t even get honorable mention anymore?
I was thinking the same! I personally like the Blackberry better because I don’t like texting on touch screens.
dunnoMemberreal-brisker
Right. I forgot to put in that disclaimer.
dunnoMemberMenorah, cufflinks, tallis, kittel…
dunnoMembercshapiro
I think for the CPA you can just print it yourself. Crop a picture of just your face and cut it down to passport size. Definitely cheaper than getting it done anywhere.
dunnoMemberI just wanted to mention, that the actual B&W halachos of tznius are few and far between. Most of it is hergush – personal feelings. For examlple, find me the halacha that one should not call a strange person of the opposite gender by their first name. You wont find it. Most People wont do it. Why not? Because it doesnt feel right. it creates familiarity
Most “harchokos” are as a seyog to avoid problems, as are a lot of hilchos Tznius.
Well said.
dunnoMemberOh no! There are shadchanim in the coffee room too? My fellow singles…time to watch ourselves!
