    From experience, most don’t.

It definitely depends what circles you associate yourself with. In yeshivish circles, guys and girls about the same age generally don’t talk to each other without the purpose of marriage in mind. (I’m not saying I agree; that’s just the way things are)

I disagree. If, for example, the carpet was old and the paint was peeling, it’s gross no matter how neat you keep the room. I was never inside the Irv so I can’t say if that’s the case there but when someone tells me it’s gross, this is the kind of thing I think of. I was never in any yeshiva dorm so I can’t compare (although I was in a dira).

If u think it can be a shidduch then go for it but like coffee addict said, it could get awkward.

The Irv is a nice hotel too!

I heard that it’s gross inside but it would definitely be a smart place to go!

Try talking about crazy dating stories that you’ve heard; that always gets a good laugh!!!!

Fine. They are raising the standard. But just because those who can’t afford it succumb to peer pressure doesn’t mean that the “rich” should give it up.

I agree 100% with that. The rich guy can upgrade and it’s up to the poor guy to see if he can. Which is my point – let him decide and do what he wants. Why is it my business to tell him what he can afford?

    commonsense

I don’t agree with people living luxurious lifestyles when living off of others. However, after 120, it is them who will have to give din v’cheshbon. I think they know it’s wrong and it’s not my place to limit his spending.

I get the sense that it’s usually the people who can’t afford something but wish they could that tend to bash those who can afford it…

I agree. Some of the stories guys have said were really funny but at the same time really inappropriate for a date.

So what you’re saying is that the “gvir” shouldn’t buy the Lexus (or whatever we’re up to) because others might upgrade to the Avalon?

I don’t agree. A discussion is perfectly fine. What I don’t understand is why the people that buy these things have to be put down as a result.

You have a point but half these threads revolve around people getting involved in other’s lives. You don’t want to buy this for your kid? Don’t! Same with cars, vacations, homes, etc

This was me a 2 months ago!! I read up on it online and saw that Vaseline helps them grow in faster. I didn’t go for a wax for a month (tweezed in between) and eventually they grew. Still not back to before but we’re getting there!

It is a “big whoop.” It’s a pretty embarrassing thing. The opposite happened to my friend. He short-stopped and instinctively put his hand out to stop her from flying.

The worst I had was guy’s coats/jackets flying into me or coming dangerously close on the armrest in the car. Actually, I banged into one’s foot once too…
