How to Write a Summary | 10 Steps & Real Examples
Students may understand the concept of summarizing as it is about identifying and restating the most important parts of a text in your own help me write my essay. A good summary essay will give an overview to what someone might not want to read, but still be able to have some understanding or meaning behind everything that has been said.
Think of the topic and read it a few time to skim over. Make sure you know what the main purpose is.
After you have read the article, take time to reflect on your thoughts by writing them down in your notepad. Do this step for at least thirty minutes until you feel like you understand the main points of the article. If need be, re-read some part or parts of an article again and put a mark on pages that lacks understanding so you can go back to it later on when doing research for summary essay writing (or just plain copying if that's what you are after).
Now comes the hardest part; taking a cup of coffee or tea and spending about one to two write my paper writing down your thoughts. Concentration is key here so take a break if you feel like zoning out or getting distracted by other stuffs.
After writing, take a few hours or days to analyze your summary. If you are having trouble putting each of the points in a paragraph that flows into each other smoothly and logically, try rearranging parts of your paragraphs so the flow will be easier for you to read to yourself when summarizing the article.
Make sure your summary includes the following three elements: The main topic, why it is important and what are its relevance in your own life or to the people around you. (We call this information 'the meat' of a summary.) Read through your paragraph once again and make sure each sentence answer one of those questions above. You might want to write them down in order on a notepad so that it will be easier for you to check off as you go along writing summary text.
Now comes the time when you start put all together, integrating every part of the original article into one cohesive paragraph meant only for summarizing with saying too much or too little about every section of work. Each part should be in a paragraph relating to parts of the original work and not necessarily in an order like how it is done in the article. For instance, if there were three main points in all of your research, you might want to integrate them into one single paragraph rather than having each sentence or two paragraphs long.
STEP 7: Now that you are done with writing out your summary, check it over again by reading it for at least five minutes and see if everything makes sense. You can erase any unnecessary words that do not relate to the topic or core idea of the article (unless they are really important). Do this step until you feel like everything makes sense and flows together without trouble. Also make sure that every statement in your summary is supported by evidence from the cheap essay writing service text.
Go back to step one again and re-read over the article, paying attention to how your thoughts tie together with what you have summarized. If something does not make sense anymore just go back and check if all details are still relevant or correct. Make sure you understand everything before moving on. This is very important as it will be easier if you do this step after writing summary and then edit it rather than writing immediately without even skimming through the article which can lead to forgetting about some parts of your knowledge gained from reading.
Once you feel like your final draft is ready for reviewing, get a few friends or members of your family to read through the summary. To get a better idea of how it sounds, try reading the draft out loud. If you feel like using this step is not necessary just skip it if you want. But we recommend that you do so and fix any grammar mistake or spelling errors before presenting it to other people as they may judge you as a good or bad writer based on these things alone.
Finally, take time to proofread the work once again before publishing it. Don't forget to write your name and the date! Also don't forget to cite all sources that you used for your research. Proofreading means double checking whether everything has been written correctly. Make sure you have done a good job or else people will not be happy about reading your summary in front of their exams or some other activities where they may need it most. If possible, get someone else to read through as well so any mistakes, if there are any can be fixed instantly before posting online so no one will judge poorly of your writing essay writer.
