Amazon sells trash bags in lots of colors: black, white, red, blue, yellow, green.

You’ve posted before that you like the ACA because it costs you less. That’s because other people are subsidizing your medical expenses, which you can well afford to pay yourself.DovidBTParticipant@RebEliezer
Google it yourself.DovidBTParticipantIt would be hard to force equal time standards on private media sites.
But they should lose the protections given by Section 230 of the Communications Act of 1934, so that they’re not immune from being sued.
The President and Congress have been trying to do that.
DovidBTParticipantWhat does “unzere” mean?
October 21, 2020 10:26 pm at 10:26 pm in reply to: Still Convinced Biden is the Real Dem Presidential Nominee #1912451DovidBTParticipantIf you roll a barrel down a hill with two idiots inside, which one will end up on top? Who cares?

What are the alternatives to BDB and Jastrow? (for a BT without formal Jewish education)DovidBTParticipant@Reb Eliezer
Thanks. I thought I had looked for that one earlier in BDB and Jastrow. In any case, it’s there now.DovidBTParticipantWhen I first saw the word ANTIFA, I though it meant “Anti First Amendment”. Which is actually accurate.
DovidBTParticipantWhat about at a protest?
Or at Fillmore Avenue and Marine Parkway, at the Marine Park basketball court? That was in the Oct. 15 YWN article yesterday, titled “GLARING DOUBLE STANDARD: No Enforcement In Non-Jewish “Red Zone” In Brooklyn”.
DovidBTParticipantWhoever registered the domain antifa DOT com configured it to redirect to joebiden DOT com.
I did a WHOIS on it, but it uses a privacy service to conceal the actual domain name owner. It’s very easy to do. I could register a domain named famous-pork-recipes DOT com and redirect it to theyeshivaworld DOT com.
DovidBTParticipantThe “white supremacist issue” is a liberal invention. White supremacists don’t care about Torah-observant Jews. They hate the liberals who are trying force everyone to accept their viewpoints on affirmative action aka diversity, same-sex marriage, abortion on demand, etc. Liberal Jews are at the forefront of that movement, and that is why white supremacists hate Jews. If they attack an Orthodox synagogue, it’s only because it’s a conspicuous target.
DovidBTParticipant@Yechi Hamelech
One of those people favors the President who maximizes his bank account, and the other makes provocative posts just for the sake of starting arguments. It’s pointless to get involved in political discussions with them.
DovidBTParticipantThat is a lie. Real conservatives, and moderate liberals, don’t shout, “Jews Will Not Replace Us”. And contrary to Trump, people who shout that are not “very fine people”.
The issue was not about Jews or white supremacists. It was about the leftist activists attempting to erase history by renaming parks and schools and removing statues. The conservatives and moderate liberals who opposed that process were not the ones doing the offensive chanting. The fact that the dispute attracted white supremacists did not mean that the side that they were supporting was wrong. To state otherwise is an example of the classic guilt-by-association fallacy.
Only self-hating assimilated Jews who have turned their backs on Torah could ever support Trump.
That would be a true statement if you replace “Trump” with “Biden”.
DovidBTParticipantThey don’t, they are doctors and I am not it seems to be a matter of class.
That’s true. Not all employees in a hospital are on the same level. Doctors are at the top of the hierarchy.
DovidBTParticipantHow do the bearded Sikh doctors deal with the N95 mask requirement?
DovidBTParticipantIf you want to understand what happened in Charlottesville, VA, in 2017, you have to go back read the local newspapers for the last few years.
For example, read about the city manager at the time, whose previous job was the sports reporter for the local TV station.
His subordinate, the chief of police, specifically instructed the police to “let them fight”, i.e. let the protestors and counter-protestors fight without interfering. This was confirmed by an independent study commissioned by the city council. When the study was published, the chief of police immediately resigned.
The whole mess was started by two members of the city council deciding on their own to start removing historical statues and renaming local parks. This action was taken without any kind of public referendum.
The “both sides have good people” remark was true. It was an ultra-liberals vs. conservatives issue. The white supremacists happened to be on the same side as the conservatives and moderate liberals; that didn’t invalidate that point of view.
DovidBTParticipantIn my opinion, the debates aren’t going to accomplish anything, because the only people watching have already decided who they’re voting for.
Debates are useful when the candidates have only minor differences on issues, and use the debate to clarify their stances. That’s not the case in this election.
I think that President Trump should have spent his time listing what’s he accomplished, instead of arguing with Biden. But he knows a lot more about how to get elected and how to do his job than I do, so I’m not really qualified to criticize him.
September 30, 2020 10:31 am at 10:31 am in reply to: Joe Biden seemed to be using some sort of earpiece during the debate #1905725DovidBTParticipantBiden actually has experience and skill as a good debater.
His weakness is that he has no good positions on issues.
If a qualified person had been feeding him answers through an earpiece, he would have had better answers.
September 26, 2020 8:49 pm at 8:49 pm in reply to: NON CORONA TOPIC: Why would anyone voted Biden #1904890DovidBTParticipantBut that is not a real answer. It is a generic one.
It’s a true answer, and the only one that matters.
September 25, 2020 12:52 pm at 12:52 pm in reply to: NON CORONA TOPIC: Why would anyone voted Biden #1904650DovidBTParticipantIf you are voting for Trump, can you give some real reasons based on real life?
His predecessor, Obama, spent eight years doing his best to flush America down the toilet. If Clinton had won the 2016 election, she would have continued doing the same. If Biden wins the 2020 election, he will do the same.
President Trump has done an excellent job of undoing his predecessor’s misguided and disastrous policies. He was the right man for the job, and the right man to spend another four years doing the job.
DovidBTParticipantIf the House wants to make AOC the Speaker, that’s perfect. It will accelerate the demise of her ridiculous Party.
DovidBTParticipantSocial media doesn’t really do anything differently from the regular world.
The difference is that anyone with fingers can instantly broadcast nonsense to the world.
September 10, 2020 12:16 pm at 12:16 pm in reply to: Which washer dryer should I purchase.? #1900200DovidBTParticipantI have a Maytag washer and dryer, and I’m happy with them.
DovidBTParticipantTrump told a reporter to take off his mask when asking a question at a news conference.
That was because the reporter’s voice wasn’t loud enough for the President to hear, and the reporter was far enough away that a mask wasn’t needed. The reporter kept his mask on, and spoke louder, which solved the problem.
September 7, 2020 3:01 pm at 3:01 pm in reply to: Bringing a Shofar into the U.S. – allowed? #1899167DovidBTParticipantI’ve read that the inspectors on the scene can use their own judgement and confiscate anything. Even if can produce a written document that says you can bring a shofar, they have the authority to take it anyway. And you’d have a hard time ever getting it back.
DovidBTParticipantYou mean well, but could get in trouble.
I trust Hashem to prevent me from getting in trouble for writing a simple B”H on another Jew’s NOV. But I’ll keep your advice in mind in the future. Now that you’ve “outed” yourself as a Census expert, I may bother you with some questions. 🙂
DovidBTParticipantIs it a volunteer job or paid?
It’s paid.DovidBTParticipantWhat kind of note was that? As far as I know, the only papers that we normally leave at an address are an Information Sheet and a Notice of Visit (NOV). Neither one has an address on it. There are a couple of other papers used for aiding non-English speakers.
Every day we get a computer-generated list of addresses to visit. I don’t know what their source is. A big part of the work is finding the addresses.
Two of the addresses I was assigned yesterday were non-existent.
By the end of the day I couldn’t even remember my own address. 🙂
DovidBTParticipantwould you take that vaccine?
Of course not. It’s obviously got stuff in it to turn you into a commie.
DovidBTParticipantActually we are often obligated to give up our lives rather than commit a transgression.
Actually that situation is very rare. When was the last time someone forced you to practice idolatry, commit murder, or be sexually immoral?
DovidBTParticipantThe problem with used furniture is that it may be filthy, with earwax and nose stuff all over it.
DovidBTParticipantThe Talmud says you do. Our judicial system does not meet even the minimal standards demanded by the Torah for Noachide courts.
We’re obligated to observe the “law of the land”, regardless of whether it’s consistent with Talmudic law.
The police executed him without trial, without due process.
He died due to his failure to cooperate with the police, who were required by the situation to use force. Whether they did anything unlawful will be determined by the on-going legal process.
DovidBTParticipantSome libraries allow checking out a digital edition of a book.
DovidBTParticipantjojo’s post was made in 2008.
DovidBTParticipantThe thing about testing, even if it’s an accurate result, is that it only shows your status at the time of the test. It doesn’t mean that you won’t contract the disease the next day, or the day after, etc. So I’m skeptical about the value of getting tested.
DovidBTParticipant@CTLAWYER
Do you think the blame for systemic racism lies with privileged white people, such as yourself?DovidBTParticipantBy a peaceful protest, even if it is after curfew, teargas is not needed.
That’s not a peaceful protest. It’s a mob of criminals.
DovidBTParticipantThe problem was that some cities deployed teargas at peaceful protests after curfew.
If the participants are breaking the law by ignoring the curfew, it’s not a peaceful protest, it’s a group of criminals. They should get a warning to leave, but if they fail to do so, the police are within their rights to use forceful measures to enforce the law.
DovidBTParticipantBut the topic should be why is there so much crime in the US?
I suggest posting that as a new topic.
DovidBTParticipantMaybe unarmed cops could wear a different colored shirt, so prospective shooters would know they are dealing with unarmed officers.
Do you seriously think that “prospective shooters” would avoid harming cops because they’re unarmed?
DovidBTParticipantthe body cam has to be on always when on duty and should be made available to the public
The question is WHEN should it made publicly available. The camera images may only provide a partial, misleading account of what happened. Releasing images early may interfere with the investigation.]
Also, the images might contain private information that’s not appropriate for public dissemination. But that can be handled by editing out that information.
DovidBTParticipant… he should treat him the way he would treat his own kid if some childish prank ended up with someone calling 911.
What if the person is adult-sized and starts fighting with the police officer?
DovidBTParticipantYes.
July 13, 2020 7:52 pm at 7:52 pm in reply to: Do our eyes tell us what happened to GEORGE FLOYD #1881959DovidBTParticipantOMG imagine how far the liberalised USA will go with anger and rage if the officers are found innocent of murder!
Our justice system is not based on YouTube videos or fear of thugs rioting. What happened to “innocent until proven guilty” in a court?
The way to stop the rioting is effective law enforcement, not giving in to the rioters’ demands.
DovidBTParticipantThis isn’t about the statues. It’s the thought police demanding erasure of anything that offends them.
Statues, school names, park names, sports team names, street names, books, movies, language, et. al.
People who say anything “offensive”, even if it was decades ago, are fired from their jobs and threatened with violence by the mob. And if you disagree with this, that in itself is “offensive”.
Removing statues is just the first step of a never-ending process.
July 3, 2020 12:14 pm at 12:14 pm in reply to: Anybody else suffering After Recovering From the Covid-19 #1879215DovidBTParticipantToo much exercise may actually not be ok at this point since your body is really still sick.
“Too much” exercise can be harmful regardless of your fitness level. If you’re recovering from a serious illness or injury, naturally you should check with a medical professional regarding exercise.
My personal experience has been that a reasonable amount of exercise, along with proper diet and adequate rest, is the best way of preventing and alleviating the bulk of physical aliments. And the older you are, the more benefit you get from exercise.
Prayer and Torah study helps too 🙂
July 2, 2020 2:26 pm at 2:26 pm in reply to: Anybody else suffering After Recovering From the Covid-19 #1878964DovidBTParticipantHave you tried exercise?
July 1, 2020 12:29 pm at 12:29 pm in reply to: Frum non profit organizations disclosing financials. #1878478DovidBTParticipantDisclosure keeps everything honest
It’s not only about honesty. Disclosure also tells you whether the management is competent.
