Shm@l is correct in the version he quotes from the new book. What the austrailian jewish news recounts is as much revisionist history as the arabs claiming there never was a temple on har habayis. I personally have heard the story of the Rebbes meeting with general Eisenhower from my fathers friends- survivors, who were actually there. There also has been found old records of the Rebbe ztl activities in the dp camps and a picture was found of that very drasha where the rebbe put on a talis before speaking.

Regarding the Sanz newspaper, you will not find it online. it is mailed out to subscribers only. I will give you the magazines email and you can contact them directly for a copy of that article/issue and for any questions you may have. I’m sure they will be happy to answer them. though you might have to write in hebrew.

Hi- Just went out this morning and took a couple picture of the rock and the plaque. This is what’s written on it- “To insure the preservation of Spook Rock as a public monument this plot of ground was donated to the Rockland County Society by David Carlough July 23rd 1931”.

If you want a close up picture of it and can somehow post your email here, I will be glad to send them to you.

Thanks loads Yitzy for the detailed information. It was very helpful. Actually I need 2 types of ovens. one for public use as I stated in my original post, and your shuls type seems perfect for that. I am also looking for something for my personal use at home to bake just a couple of erev pesach matzos for my family. Thats where Twisteds idea might be good, though I need more info on it as it need to be pretty hot as you mentioned. Thanks again
