double standardMember
nonsense
double standardMemberWhy do you imagine he doesn’t regret getting married? I would think otherwise.
double standardMember@apushatayid: Who exactly are you referring to?
double standardMemberNo I mean KVH.
double standardMemberYou’re not married b/c as Mod-80 noted, you’re too picky.
double standardMemberIs this the Chofetz Chaim of Radin yeshiva in Monsey everyone is talking about? Because really, they have the true mesorah of the Chofetz Chaim.
double standardMemberbump
double standardMember@shlishi: The proponents of the ban claim it has to do with health concerns. Also, the fact that 80% of all US males are circumcised will make it very to deny the law as a free exercise clause issue. I’d say this may be more of a substantive due process issue, health concerns aside.
double standardMember@Dovid S.: Under the current test applied by the Supreme Court, since this law has the purpose of regulating health concerns, and the religious discrimination is only an effect of the law, this law would not violate the free exercise clause.
double standardMemberAnti-semitic, but constitutional.
double standardMemberCan someone tell us the history and evolution of New York’s depraved indifference law?
double standardMemberMr. 80: Someone needs to moderate your comments, b/c you clearly lack brains or common sense.
double standardMemberWolf: I already posted that (though I was more discrete with my rebuke). And if you truly feel it is an issue, you should not be quoting it in lowercase either.
double standardMemberI think when you go to make a living you also have to rely on the One Above.
double standardMemberIs Popa Jewish?
double standardMemberSYAS. It operates more like “yeshivish” style dating, just online. Users cannot see profiles unless matchmakers send it to them. This benefits singles’ privacy and time (so they don’t have to search through hundreds of profiles themselves).
double standardMemberAlso check out shullists.com
double standardMemberYes, but it list things for all of Queens, including Kew Gardens.
double standardMemberPoppa and Pippa sounds nice.
double standardMemberKew Gardens is cheap and has all your requirements. Sign up for the KGHshuls yahoo group to see what’s available.
double standardMemberDo people think that in the legal world conformity is more important (than in accounting)?
double standardMemberWhat about wearing a yarmulke to an interview? What about having a Goyish name?
double standardMemberIt’s Zionist b/c it’s blue and white.
double standardMemberReal Queens people shop at Wasserman’s and Brach’s.
double standardMemberIf this is my Kallah I got a real problem on my hands. Uh oh.
double standardMemberBoy, I hope her chassan is not reading this thread.
double standardMemberYou can’t eat after the seder, only drink water.
double standardMembershlshi: You did not read the CRC’s comment, which clearly indicated that it is muttar.
double standardMemberItcheSrulik: 1) Begs the question means to avoid the question. 2) Everyone else changed because frumkeit took over the yeshiva velt. Why people think wearing a white shirt lends to frumkeit is beyond me.
His Royal Highness: Yes. And colored hats and light colored suits as well.
double standardMemberChofetz Chaim boys wear colored shirts b/c that’s what they used to wear in Slabodka. Chofetz Chaim never changed, everyone else did.
double standardMemberCan one avoid fasting for the sake of Parnassah?
March 15, 2011 2:13 pm at 2:13 pm in reply to: lighting shabbat candles in memory of family murdered #750111double standardMemberDon’t guys living by themselves have to light candles anyways?
February 28, 2011 3:11 am at 3:11 am in reply to: Should the yeshivos adopt a smicha system? #744968double standardMemberHaving an accepted smicha program yeshiva-wide as a requirement for yeshivaleit would help to legitimize those who are fit to stay in learning while weeding out those who are not.
February 23, 2011 4:38 pm at 4:38 pm in reply to: Which Singer Would You Choose To Sing At Your Wedding? #743799double standardMemberShaya Hecht – a rising star, and a real mensch too!
double standardMemberPopa:
Are you into dog fighting as well?
double standardMemberWho can afford to go to these events nowadays?
February 17, 2011 9:32 pm at 9:32 pm in reply to: Will sellers/manufacturers of electronics be held liable k'lapai shemaya… #741878double standardMemberIf Hashem didn’t want us to sin he wouldn’t have created a Yetzer Hara. Huh?
February 17, 2011 6:16 pm at 6:16 pm in reply to: Will sellers/manufacturers of electronics be held liable k'lapai shemaya… #741868double standardMemberYour taking this argument way too far. If a device is very commonly used for forbidden activities (think tv’s for example), then my argument is valid, because its use is thus inherently bad. Light bulbs are a very bad comparison, obviously.
February 17, 2011 6:08 pm at 6:08 pm in reply to: Will sellers/manufacturers of electronics be held liable k'lapai shemaya… #741867double standardMemberI suppose your right, it can go both ways.
double standardMemberIf they wanted to stop you they could put blockers in. Since they did not, they obviously do not care.
double standardMemberDoes Popa know if Starbucks cleans with agents that have hechsherim?
double standardMemberFirst is the worst, second is the best, third gets the polka dot dress.
double standardMember@mdd:
Your making a conclusory argument. The question is whether it is avodah zarah, not whether eating eating avodah zarah is muttar.
double standardMemberTo say that I claim that taking on goyish holidays is such a distortion of what i wrote. By partaking in a meal on St. Patty’s your not taking on the holiday, your just eating the food. If you consider that to be taking on a holiday, then your definition of what a holiday is is quite shallow.
double standardMember@aries2765:
Just b/c you think we have enough holidays doesn’t mean I have to join your chumros. Besides which, the food is free!
double standardMember@Wolfish:
I think many people would say it about a Christmas party. Many frum people attend work holiday parties yearly.
double standardMemberIsn’t it just an opportunity for people to celebrate or party, not really observed these days as a religious event?
double standardMemberImo, the only necessary questions are those concerning health and financial issue, since they are dispositive. All other queries (personality, etc.), never really give an accurate picture and are certainly not a license to make a person wait on your uncertainty.
double standardMemberHas anyone ever retracted a “Yes” b/c the other side was taking too much time?
double standardMemberThe problem with that “rule” is that the other side most likely does not know how long you spent researching them. My point is that you rarely ever need more than two days.
