gefen: Is the moral of that story that if a guy sends flowers after the first date, she’ll end up having 3 kids with him?
DepotMemberYou usually get to know each other after the wedding.
DepotMemberThat Reuven guy is a real self-hating Jew in all the trash he prints about Jews.

DepotMemberWhy do the Chasidim typically have very long engagement periods?
DepotMemberLike 600 Kilo Bear said, what the NK doesn’t affect anything, and certainly not world politics and military events.
DepotMemberAn adopted child is still obligated in Kibud Av V’Eim to his Jewish biological parents.
As far as their Jewish status prior to their Bar or Bas Mitzvah, I believe they are somehow Jewish but forget the reasoning. (But they need to reaffirm it at their Bar Mitzvah.)

July 6, 2011 2:10 am at 2:10 am in reply to: Two points from this weeks Yated – Kollel & Agudah #787355DepotMemberFull time kollel is not for most people, it is for the individuals.
Most people don’t go to Kollel. If anything we could use more people in Kollel. What percent of Jews are in Kollel? .00001%? Even what percent of Frum Jews are in Kollel? Not much more than that.
July 6, 2011 2:08 am at 2:08 am in reply to: Two points from this weeks Yated – Kollel & Agudah #787354DepotMemberAt least the Agudah is openly moida they do it for they gelt, while holding their noses, when honoring these shmutzidika oisvurfs, and it isn’t l’chatchila. It gives credence though to their critics in the Torah community.

DepotMemberIf anything, the issue of tznius in our communities is not talked about enough.
Couldn’t agree more. Especially considering the extent of the problem.
DepotMemberWhat other ones are there now other than Dollar Tree?
