I agree that they cram to much info, but do you think a longer school year will mean more time to absurb that info, or will it be used to push even more?

In Rockland County they did a great job, they plowd the whole night and by 7:00AM every dead end street was clean.
In response to those who are against the summer break, please keep in mind that a lot of otherwise good kids are not exectly cut out to be top students and therefor are always the underdog but when summer comes they finaly have a chance to be great and use their talants in summer activities. For those kids summer is a life saver.

BTW most teachers spend many unpaid hours every night to mark tests, prepare lessons, on the phone with parents. Time that realy belongs to their own family so its realy not fair to fuss about the few days off they get to take care of their own things.

most schools just have 2 or 3 days pending upon how many snow days there was. no teacher gets paid for the summer (aldough we pay tuition, but thats a seperate ishue) and if you want to keep good teachers who for the most parts have growing families we need to give them a little break here and there, or we will have young new teachers every year.
read some articles about trusting and beileiving in “themselves” i mean the person that needs some help……… lol!
