I beleive that people in our generation give more tzedakah then in the past, but there is a globel competion between so many orgenesations to get what you will give, so the steak is not a motive for ppeople to give tzedakah, its a motive to give to that perticuler org. that you have no affiliation instead of giving to your local school or cerrity.

The DMV collects enough money on all kinds of fees, they dont opperate with tax money.

i think once a week shabbos, a family may and should sacrifice themselves to have their family sitting together at the table and eating and singing and enjoying the togetherness, it’s beautiful. why should they leave the table to go play/fight? every kid likes family time, and shabbos is the time a child could and should get it.if not then, then when?

good luck to everyone out there trying to entertain their family on shabbos, if you make it fun, it will be fun, for them for sure. it’s easy to pleese the “little ones”.

Just a little story about chaveirim in BP;

My grandfather a”h was at an advanced age and had an home aid. One day the aid didnt show up and while my grandmother was able to put un his tfilin, feed him, etc. there was no way she could take him out of bed by herself. With my mother being stuck at work in another part of the city she called me wondering what we can do. So from upstate NY I called chaveirim of BP apoligizing that I know that this is not excectly what they do, but they right away sent 2 volunteers and in 5 minutes they saved the day.

I found that songs in the kids native language (in my case Yidish) is much easier to teach then with hebrew words they dont yet understand.

I dont care if people do it, its actualy a nice home decoration, but I have a problem with people making it an “inyan”.
