Thanks for posting these links, where I live there is a populer Tishah B’av program but when I fast I will rather stay home and watch someting online.
And keep in mind that the unemployment rate is now calculated difrently then when Obama came into office, using the old system the unemployment rate would now be at 11.9% and the underemloment rate at almost 20%.

I didn’t read all the posts so forgive me if someone alse said the same thing but this is what I told my kids when they asked me if the killer was frum, “He might have pretended to be frum but since killing someone is against the torah then he is not frum”.

Windows is more for everyone while Mac is designed for specialty programs. (for exemple if you want to make a slide show at a family party showing family pictures you will probebly use Windows Medua Player since its more simple to use but a profesional making a presentation for a major event will use a program runing on Mac which might be more complicated but will preduce a superiour result).

The only diference between Ashkenazim and Sefardim is when all halachos start, for Ashkenazim its on Rosh Chodesh Av While for Sefardim its the week of Tishu B’Av.
As to taking a shower it depands on many things (like if you work in the outside heat, are you specialy sensitive, is it very hot, do you have a medical condition etc.) so one should ask his LOR.
Its not about alcohol, wine (and grape juice) have a chashivos. Other beverges are permited. (those who are not using grape juice for havdalah in the nine days use beer instead.
If you are into gemarah b’iyun its very hard to be tested and given a mark. But for someone who is learning halachah testing helps you stay goal oriented and keeps you going.
I have a much bigger problem with pushing little elementry age kids too hard, some kids are not so good at math for exemple but have other strong points, do they realy have to get a 100 on every test? (no matter how hard they will study to get that 100 they wont remember a thing after a few weeks anyway but the school will still be able to pat themselves on their back saying that ALL are kids acheive good marks).

There is no problem being to long, there is a minimum how long it should be as mentioned above.
We had the same question during sfirah, Its the same reason why it works on shabbos (I beleive aldough I didnt try) because as long you dont put it on its not a problem.
My scissors did a great job solving the debt crisis, we just cut are credit cards and problem solved, if its importent enough we will find the money to pay for it up front. I cant think of one thing we realy needed and didn’t get but we need to think before buying instead of just swiping the card.
