Not sure what you mean. I am not aware of a college that will accept you for a masters program without taking core requirements, like math, sciences, usually English, etc.. Basically, you need an undergrad degree with some certain prerequisite courses as well. As I said, Maalot puts the package together so you can get a degree and facilitates having classes at their facility. So yes, one could go anywhere and get an undergrad degree. One could go to CCBC also – but you won’t get into a masters nursing program if you only take science courses at a community college and no other course work anywhere. As I said, not sure what your point is.
DaprParticipantWhat about them? (Some she took while as a senior in high school.) Ma’alot puts a program together and almost all classes – even though the credits were granted by a different institution – were taught physically at Maalot. And at the end of the program, Maalot works to ensure that all credits are transferred from wherever – whether it be seminary, Gratz, Edison, CCBC, BCCC, etc. – and the student gets an undergrad degree. And with that degree, you can be accepted into good masters programs. So, who cares who gave the credits for the courses? Clearly Hopkins did not have an issue with it, at least in my daughter’s case. Again, not really clear on what the problem or issue is with Maalot.
DaprParticipantSparkly: My daughter went to Ma’alot for the year after seminary, got her undergrad from Gratz, with courses taken at Ma’alot. She was accepted by both Hopkins and U of MD Nursing schools. Hopkins is rated # 1, U of MD is # 8 link removed So I am not sure why you seem to have a less than positive take on Ma’alot, but it served my daughter well – as well as many of her friends.
