January 22, 2014 9:22 pm at 9:22 pm in reply to: Why does R' Yoichanan need a possuk for chatzi shi'ur? #999423dafyomi2711Memberlook at the top tosafos on the amud he asks this questions and gives a nice tsrichusa.
dafyomi2711Memberno i once had a special teffilah which had refrences to all the fruit trees and each stanza ended with “bze rosh hashana” I misplaced the paper I got once from a spharadi shul.
dafyomi2711Membertwisted shekalim is in seder moed a very halacha lemaaseh seder and the cycle wanted to include a gemara on every mesechta in the seder to have a complete seder with gemara. We only do brochos in seder zeraiim.
dafyomi2711Memberit is just a stick that helps the cattleman lead his cattle to where he wants them to go.
October 4, 2013 2:19 pm at 2:19 pm in reply to: Looking for short and inspiring divrei torah on Parshas Noach #977506dafyomi2711Memberactually, on second thought the Torah does tell us about Nachor at the end of Parshas Vayera he had Besual avi Rivkah Imeinu!!!!
October 4, 2013 1:41 pm at 1:41 pm in reply to: Looking for short and inspiring divrei torah on Parshas Noach #977504dafyomi2711Membereyefortruth Q1 the torah only tells us things relevant to the foundation of Klal Yisroel Nachors history has no relevance.
As for the second question i would love to hear the answer can you please post it TY!!
October 2, 2013 4:52 pm at 4:52 pm in reply to: Looking for short and inspiring divrei torah on Parshas Noach #977492dafyomi2711MemberDid anyone ever notice that Noach never said shira and never said thank you for saving him and his entire family from the Mabul! The korbanos he brought were just because Hashem told him to bring them by commanding him to bring more of the kosher animals he never did anything on his own initiative. Rashi brings down that he was an mekatnei emunah maybe for this reason Hashem waited untill Avraham to establish His people. Maybe you can talk about this in your shiur. It is just a haarah!
dafyomi2711Memberthis is the way it is going to be leasid lavoe just sitting and enjoying the splendor of the scheina without the burden(as you say) of cell phones, texting , computers, internet, just sitting learning davening eating and drinking “ki zeh kol haadam” get your priorities straight yiddishkeit is far from a burden
dafyomi2711Memberyes this election is by far the worst of the worst regarding all the annoyning phone calls and all the mail i decided not to vote for anyone who calls me or mails me anything. I even got phone calls over Yom Tov! shouldn’t they know better than that?
dafyomi2711Memberno of course you can have other stuff as long as the main course is basar veyain! (for a man)
dafyomi2711Memberyou are not allowed to shower on shabbos even in and on yom tov as well its a gezeira and you are not supposed to have milchig meals on yom tov “ain simcha ela bbasar”!!!
dafyomi2711Memberyour mashal is very good but, you fail to realize the “box” (the Kotel)is all we have left of the gift. Nowadays the “box” really is precious.
dafyomi2711MemberI had a girl yesterday!
dafyomi2711Memberoh ok mobico very nice thank you ! ksiva vchasima tova to you and klal yisroel!
dafyomi2711Memberyour begging the issue yaakov only said that one time he didnt add it into his own personal daily K”S!
dafyomi2711Memberbut why should WE! say it ,Yaakov was saying shevach to Hashem that his sons had no pigimos in them Moshe actually gave over the actual mitzvah of K”S to Klal Yisroel .(granted that the yidden were saying shema for many years before Moshe said it as well, just w/o baruch shem)
dafyomi2711Memberwhat you wrote is very nice, mobico but you are not answering my question the gemara wanted to bring a rayeh from yaakov avinu that we should say baruch shem in K”S everyday why ?yaakov only said it that one time before he died when he wanted to be megala the ketz to his sons!
dafyomi2711Memberfor question #2 its no problem their peah was not a good peah according to the chachamim (leaves do not fall into the same category as the turnips themselves) since no peah was chal so the leaves have a din of a regular vegetable and its chaiv in maasros
dafyomi2711Memberim asking : what is the gemara’s dilemma about saying it ;yaakov avinu didnt say it every day he only said it as a shevach at that one incident so why should we even have a hava amina to make it into a chiyuv bchol yom!
dafyomi2711Membercoke and diet coke mixed!
dafyomi2711Memberwhy aren’t you embarrassed to post that comment to thousands of people?
dafyomi2711Membermaybe we don’t paskin like rebbe Akiva there are other opinions as to what a meonain is.
dafyomi2711Membervery interesting are you a rav?
dafyomi2711MemberSam you mentioned earlier in one of your posts that the Teffillin straps have a din of dvarim shebekedusah why do the straps have that din and tziztis don’t is it because they are made from wool and not leather ? (that’s ridiculous). They both have a din of dvar mitzvah and both dont belong on the floor! even if your right you dont have to leave it on the floor right? you are allowed to put it on your lap I hope?
dafyomi2711Membertake a drink or hold your breath for a minute.
dafyomi2711MemberYou can not paskin from a story in a gemara no where in S”A does he use the word “mutar” for tziztis dragging on the floor and rightfully so. Also maybe in the gemara the amoraim were discussing the issur of loeg larash since they happened to be in a cematary how do u know they would not have discussed the bizayon of the mitzvah aspect of it had the circumstance been different?
dafyomi2711Memberthe gemara says that the meat it was referring to was young female goat meat does anyone know who sells that? lol!
dafyomi2711Memberisn’t there a heiter of baalah bair ;didn’t you say you were married?
dafyomi2711Memberwhew midwesterner nice blow! but the gemara you quoted clearly says there were cushions!! if you can put tzitzis on the floor itself why would he need those cushions? plain and simple no raya! and try and be a little nicer this close to Elul.
dafyomi2711Memberthey were at least on cushions not on the floor!
dafyomi2711Memberit is a bizayon to have a dvar mitzvah on the floor whether it is muddy dirty or clean as a whistle it does not matter why is this so hard to understand and i’m not saying they have to tuck it in thier belt just make sure it stays on your shoulders when i first started this thread so many people agreed with me and now we are the only ones left still keeping up the argument.
dafyomi2711MemberDo you purposely drop your tziztis on the ground based on this gemara? why was reb Yochanan wearing a talis in a cemetary anyway? they must have been attached to his outer garment which were different back then and they fell out accidentally. I’m just so surprised so many people just sit in sul with thier taliasim and or tziztis strewn on the floor with no regard for the mitzvah!
dafyomi2711Memberyou can’t paskin from the gemara and besides the gemara never said that it was outright mutar reb yochanan’s tzitzis just happened to of fallen down i’m sure it was just an accident! it’s a very weak proof.
dafyomi2711Memberwhat do you mean?
dafyomi2711Memberlook in S”A siman 21:4 M”B S”K 18 case closed!
dafyomi2711Memberthat gemorah is not a raiah his tzitzis happened to have dragged on the ground it fell down some how and he was told that is was loag larash how does that prove that it outright muttar! it’s ok if it hits the ground occasionally but to say that you can drag them lechatchila is ridiculous.
dafyomi2711Memberwhat would r Yochanan say about you considering tziztis not something which has kedusha what are they to you plain strings on an undershirt!( btw i’m not trying to be nasty i just would like to see everyone treating dvarim shel mitzvah with the proper respect they deserve)
dafyomi2711Membersam 2 fine even if your right the topic is dragging on the floor no one should be putting or dragging any dvarim shebekedusah on the floor it is mamesh a bizayon to the mitzvah.
