More contagious and more lethal. Like the delta variant.

Is Delta inherently more lethal, or only more lethal because it’s more contagious?

Vaccines have little to No effect.

    We don’t know that yet.

Oh I know, everyone Cower in their Houses.
    How about Okaying Ivermectin?!?
Naw, it’s too Cheap and the Pharmaceutical companies can’t make Billions!

    Also, it doesn’t work.

Other cheap repurposed drugs do work, so why are you pushing Ivermectin? If you have worms, by all means take Ivermectin, but otherwise it’s likely useless and potentially harmful.

Pray tell, what do you consider important for jews to be discussing in 2021?

    The inferiority of Ashkenazim.

Pretty much all wigs come from India

No, the pretty ones come from Europe. The Indian wigs are ugly.

Anyhow, you didn’t answer my question. If need be, we can avoid the A”Z issue by having the girls grow their own hair long and them to make shaitels.

I am going to write what a multitude of rabbis (European, no less) mentioned as being important communal needs in their writings:
The poor, the sick, widows, burial needs, etc.

You don’t think marrying off bnos Yisrael is also important?

I think only women should be posting here as men shouldn’t have a say as to what is and what isn’t tzniyus as long as it’s within Shulchan Aruch bounds.

This isn’t about tznius. I’m talking about unmarried (but hopefully with this proposal, soon to married) girls.

Strange how all this time, I took you for a man.

I think halacha allows that as long as you are aware of the pricing. If you were to come in without doing market research and he would add the price without explaining, this would be wrong and you could demand it back if overcharge was more than 1/6 (20 percent of normal price)

There no ona’ah on real estate, and that’s what a room rental is.

Might be a poor business decision if it annoys the customers too much, but I don’t otherwise see a problem with it.

Lace sheitels are what Jews should be concerned about in 2021?

Yes, but not as concerned as about what random people post on the CR. That’s an even bigger crisis in 2021.

if you have already caught Covid is there any benefit to vaccinate afterwards?

Yes, many people have gotten Covid a second time, but it is very rare for someone who had Covid, then got vaccinated, to get Covid again.

Whether it’s worth it is a different question; I think the opinions are divided on that.

I personally do not know anyone who was injured from them

In general, if someone is hurt by the antibodies infusion, it will be chalked up to the Covid, so you would rarely know.

In fact, the immune response is similar to that of a vaccine except that it’s more concentrated than the vaccine so any negative reaction would actually be stronger.

It’s just as untested as the vaccines, so the whole antivax argument goes out the window if the alternative is the more risky MaBs treatment.

So I’m guessing a 4th shot coming soon as a booster?

Right now, the preliminary evidence is showing that the booster is effective for 9-10 months. Perhaps longer. This will likely turn into a yearly booster, similar to a flu shot.

The only thing it may do is lower the severity of the disease,

So you are basically admitting that it saves lives, yet you are trying to convince people not to take it.

what is the point of the vaccines?

Overall, reduces cases of Covid and severity in those who do get infected.

Judging the vaccines as ineffective based on an anecdote is silly.

And, whether or not some gedolei yisrael said he was not a gadol or not, he is a Gadol and we all have to respect him.

We need a list. It is important to know who is and is not a real gadol.

Please tell me how in the world some gedolim can hold others are not gedolim? Gedolim are Gedolim.

I don’t understand the question. Is there some list of gedolim somewhere, written by Eliyahu Hanavi, which nobody can disagree with?

I would be really surprised to hear that gedolim just say that ‘the Lubavitcher Rebbe isn’t a Gadol’ just because they disagree.

Wouldn’t that depend on what it is they disagree with?

GH: Yibum is when there are two (or more) paternal brothers, one of whom dies childless. The brother marries (or does chalitzah if he does not want to marry) the widow. This marriage is called yibum (yevama reverse to the widow; the plural is yevamos, but the actual name of the mesechta (tractate) is likely actually “Yabmus” which refers to the topic of this type of marriage).

If two brothers are married to two sisters, and one brother dies, he cannot marry his sister in law, because she is his wife’s sister, and a man cannot marry two sisters.

This case, with several variations, is frequently discussed in the Gemara.

As I pointed out on the other thread, R Soloveitchik’s position that a woman learning secular studies must also learn gemara has been shown in real life to be incorrect.

The controversy isn’t about a self motivated woman learning on her own, so the second part of your post is irrelevant.

The claim is that modern educated women need Gemora learning to support their emunah at the intellectual level they are.

It’s a silly claim, because there’s plenty of material which Bais Yaakovs offer which is on a high intellectual level without learning gemara. Speak to anyone beho knows something about BJJ.

You may be particularly unappreciative to the concept because it applies less to women in your community

Aside from that comment being arrogant and condescending, it’s blatantly untrue. There is certainly a big range of education level in our community (as there is in the MO community) but that range extends to law degrees and above. Yet, learning gemara is still unnecessary and therefore assur (self motivated learning is not assur, but mandated, structured classes are). Plus, as mentioned above, the Bais Yaakov system has managed to make a high level Torah based curriculum available for those who need it, without having to resort to learning gemara.

Bottom line: the success of the Bais Yaakov curriculum is a complete rebuttal to the claim that nowadays it is necessary to teach gemara to girls, and the only reason the MO do it is because they are too weak to fight the feminist elements among them.
