From what I remember from what my Rov told us (as we are Kohanim), if there are any body parts, they are enclosed in a case which becomes its own ohel and does not effect the museum itself.

Always ask your own Rov or Posek.

If you are traveling and don’t have Tefilas HaDerech hanging from your rear view mirror, you can call 212-374-8464 to hear (the voice of Magic [if you know who it is, you’d get the joke]) Tefilas HaDerech.

Have a safe and enjoyable trip!

TorahMom, the Palm Treo and Centro allow you have a phone and your PDA in one. They work like a regular Palm but they also have a phone and camera. And you don’t need a data plan (at least with Sprint). You can even beam or bluetooth all your applications you currently have on your Palm to the Treo/Centro.

(The only difference between the Treo and Centro is that the Treo is a bigger phone (larger screen and keypad) then the Centro.)

The problem is, some of the cell phone companies and pulling the Treo/Centro (including Sprint). For some reason, they are not selling these great phones anymore. If you can get your hands on one, your lucky. But try not to get a used one. Many have the used ones have many problems.

however, in my phone (verizon) i tried putting it in with an exclamation point before it as you mentioned and it just moved it to the bottom of the list…

Try putting two ‘a’s before Hatzalah (for example, aa Hatzalah.) That should work.

missme, this is a post I posted a while a ago:

A way to fix this problem is to cut out all the extra stuff in the URL.

    For example:

    This is the current URL:

    http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/your-feedback-new-ywn-website/page/5#post-126643

    Remove this:

    #post-126643

    So your left with:

    http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/your-feedback-new-ywn-website/page/5

This is something you can do to any thread. Hopefully, the YW technicians will fix this annoying problem very soon.

Hope that works. If you don’t understand it 100% let me know.

if you put Hatzalah’s number at the top of your contacts list, you should be careful that no one accidentally dials Hatzalah by mistake. I know on my phone, the first contact gets called once in a while. But luckily, its only a company.

Also, if you put Hatzalah as a speed dial, make sure no one presses it by mistake.

This is very important especially if you give your cell phone to kids to play with…

I know the heat wave is almost over (I hope!), but this is good to read either way.

Doctor: Never Underestimate Dangers Of Heat

Along with the heat wave come some real health risks. But experts say symptoms of heat-related illness are not always easy to recognize. CBS 2 HD has what you need to look out for.

Some people like it hot, but the heat can be a very dangerous thing. Emergency room Dr. Tod Bania says heat stroke can kill.

It may start as heat exhaustion but can elevate into heat stroke, and Dr. Bania says victims are not always aware that they are in danger.

Other symptoms include high fever, hot, dry skin and rapid heartbeat. Bania said get the victim to a cool place and give fluids and call 911 if the symptoms persist.

He said the elderly and young are particularly susceptible, and so are those who exercise in the heat.

In fact, he advises not to exercise at all in the heat and to also stay away from alcohol.

Finally, those with chronic medical conditions such as asthma or diabetes are advised to be especially wary of the heat.

And experts say some medicines can impair the ability to sweat, which can also raise body temperatures to dangerous levels.

This is like really off topic, but if the Mossad would have done 9/11, would every Jew who works in the Twin Towers known about the plot? Would every Jew who works in the TT area known about it beforehand? Whould evry Jew who was going to visit the TTs or visiting a doctor in the area known about the planned attacks? It doesn’t make sense!

    NEW INTERNATIONAL POLLARD CAMPAIGN LAUNCHED

Pollard, the ultimate gesture of friendship to the People of Israel

Call President Barack Obama For Pollard Today!

    CALL THE WHITE HOUSE NOW:

    Tel: 202-456-1111

When Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President Barack Obama on July 6, 2010, hopes are high that the date will prove to be an historic one for both countries. Anticipating that mutual goodwill will produce concrete efforts for reconciliation, many pray that the President will send Jonathan Pollard Home with Mr. Netanyahu.

POLLARD AS A GESTURE TO THE PEOPLE

The Israeli People have been waiting 25 years for Jonathan Pollard. Public opinion polls in Israel consistently show that the People of Israel see the return of Jonathan Pollard as a national priority, with 84% to 92% supporting initiatives to secure Pollard/s release. No other issue enjoys such wall to wall support.

    POLLARD IN SUPPORT OF ISRAEL

The American people, speaking through their elected representatives, want President Barack Obama to act in support of Israel. 87 Senators recently signed a letter to the president urging that he show support for Israel. 31 Jewish Congressman recently met with the President and they too urged that he show support for Israel. The return of Jonathan Pollard would be the ultimate gesture of support, welcomed and enthusiastically embraced by all the People of Israel.

    CALL THE WHITE HOUSE NOW:

    Tel: 202-456-1111

Everyone is urged to participate in this worldwide grassroots effort starting today, by calling the White House, daily, through July 6th repeatedly and often, to urge President Barack Obama to send Jonathan Pollard home to Israel.

Call between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM EST. To leave a message for the President, the White House Switchboard can be reached at

202-456-1111. Tell the President that releasing Jonathan Pollard would be the consummate act of friendship towards the People of Israel. Ask the President to please send Jonathan Pollard home with Mr. Netanyahu.

    OPPORTUNITY FOR FRIENDSHIP AND RECONCILIATION

“With Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu scheduled to meet with President Obama in Washington on July 6, this is a golden opportunity for a gesture of friendship and reconciliation to be made by releasing Pollard and sending him home to Jerusalem, to his wife and to his People,” said Rabbi Pesach Lerner, the Executive Vice President of the National Council of Young Israel, and one of the driving forces behind the Pollard campaign.

Chaim was walking down the street when he sees a funeral procession. At the head was the casket, behind was a man walking a very large dog and behind him were 300 people.

Chaim walks over to the guy with the dog and asks who’s funeral is this. The man answers, “My mother-in-law’s”. Chaim wishes his condolences and asks “She must of been a very important person. But what’s with the dog?”. He answers, “This dog killed her”> So Chaim asks, can I borrow the dog for an hour?” He responds, “Get on line”.

Russia sold brand new fighter aircraft to Syria. The Russians sent a team of experts to show the Syrian Army how to use the machinery.

The experts showed them how to fly, steer, shoot etc.

After the training, the Syrians said, “You taught us everything but you didn’t teach us how to land.”

The Russians answered, “Don’t worry, the Israelis will land them for you”

Three Chasidim are discussing who’s Rebbe is the greatest.

The first man says, “My Rebbe was walking to a city when he sees the entire city is flooded. The Rebbe called out “Ois flood” and all the water left the city!”

The next man said, “That was very nice but not as good as my Rebbe. My Rebbe was walking to a town when he sees the entire town is engulfed in flames. The Rebbe called out “Ois fire” and the fire disappeared and the whole town was saved!!”

The third man said, “Your Rebbes can perform really great things but listen to this! My Rebbe was walking down the street on Shabbos when he sees a $100 bill on the ground. The Rebbe said “Ois Shabbos” and picked up the money!!!”

    And how about this one:

Chaverim Of Queens Conducts Free Pre-Winter Auto Checkup

    (Thursday, December 10th, 2009)

This past Sunday December 6th was a wonderful day for the Queens community. Chaverim of Queens, which was founded just under 2 years ago, in memory of Mr. Jack Friedman, held a Free Pre-Winter Auto Inspection for the Queens community.

Chaverim of Queens has responded to a few thousand calls already and is growing every day.

The Pre-Winter Auto Inspection was held at Maven Motors in Kew Gardens. Maven Motors, which is located at 121-02 Jamaica Avenue is not only known as a trustworthy and reliable mechanic, but has been involved in working with Chaverim of Queens since day one by providing training for all new members. They also have mechanics available (for Chaverim members) on a regular basis to answer questions in any severe type of emergency beyond the scope of the basic training.

The event was sponsored by Personal Touch Home Health Services and co-sponsored by the Vaad Harabonim of Queens.

The mechanics at Maven Motors together with about 15 members from Chaverim inspected many cars and anyone who needed to have immediate work done was able to have it done on the spot if they so chose. Tires were filled with air, bulbs were replaced if necessary, and most cars received new windshield wipers free of charge.

Throughout the day, local police officers stopped by to say hello and were really impressed with what was being done. It truly was a tremendous kiddush hashem. Councilman Jim Gennaro who has also been a friend and supporter of Chaverim of Queens also stopped by to say a few kind words and of course to have his car inspected as well.

Refreshments, also sponsored by Personal Touch were served throughout the day to all participants, volunteers and of course the mechanics.

Chaverim of Queens is growing and is therefore always looking for new volunteers with day and night time availability. If you would like to join or know anyone who would like to join (or make a donation of any kind) please send an e-mail to [email protected] or call 347-684-1155 to request an application and an interview.

How about this stroy from a while back?!

    (Sunday, March 7th, 2010)

Following the success of their pioneer program, coordinators for Chaverim of Queens as well as local community members have called the program a huge accomplishment. 15 volunteers made themselves available throughout Purim to drive intoxicated (or otherwise unfit to drive persons) from wherever they were to their home. This program was put together 3 weeks before Purim to prevent drunk driving.

Word of the Purim program, sponsored by InterGen Health Home Care, spread quickly and within just a day of releasing the idea on YWN, Chaverim of Queens officials were contacted by groups as close as Brooklyn to Baltimore and as far as L.A. complimenting them on the great idea.

With the tremendous response from the volunteers, a significant number of people did call and use the service. Every caller was picked up from their location and driven home safely.

One volunteer even drove 2 people from Queens to Brooklyn. (Bolded by da)

Chaverim of Queens coordinators were extremely satisfied with the response to, and the success of the program.
