They’re really good…
Whole Wheat Banana Muffins
Makes approx 16 muffins.
2 ripe bananas – mash with fork or blend 10-15 seconds
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup orange juice or apple juice
2 eggs
1 and 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup oats
1 tsp baking soda
Optional: figs, dates (I’ve had too many of those recently!), or my favorite – mini cholocate chips
Mix everything together well with a fork. Fill muffin holders 2/3 full. Bake 18-20 minutes. I bake them closer to 18 minutes so they’re a bit more “wet”. They freeze very well. Can reheat in microwave for 25 seconds so that the chocolate chips remelt, yum!

TOHSguy – baloney. Like I said I’ve been to both, Touro and highly regarded universities. The learning stinks everywhere. In addition, when you land a job they’re looking at your personal accomplishments and motivation, not at where you graduated from.

Feif un, I’ve been through the college/university gamut. I’ll tell you this much, touro vs prestigious university = they’re all a joke in terms of getting a “real” education. That’s what real life and self-motivation is for. Even Ivy league colleges are pathetic in terms of teaching content.

Reminds me of this:

The Italian – throws the cup, breaks it, and walks away in a fit of rage.
The German – carefully washes the cup, sterilizes it and makes a new cup of coffee.
The Frenchman – takes out the fly, and drinks the coffee.
The Chinese – eats the fly and throws away the coffee.
The Russian – Drinks the coffee with the fly, since it was extra with no charge.
The Israeli – sells the coffee to the Frenchman, the fly to the Chinese, makes a cup of tea for himself and uses the extra money to invent a device that prevents flies from falling into cups.
The Palestinian – blames the Israeli for the fly falling in his coffee, protests the act of aggression to the UN, takes a loan from the European Union to buy a new cup of coffee, uses the money to purchase explosives and then blows up the coffee house where the Italian, the Frenchman, the Chinese, the German and the Russian are all trying to explain to the Israeli that he should give away his cup of tea to the Palestinian.

This seemingly suicidal behavior is actually a clever survival strategy. The minnow’s chemical has two distinct functions. First, it warns other minnows about the danger. Minnows travel in schools with close relatives, so this chemical alarm warns the others away from potentially dangerous waters. Even if the original minnow is eaten, its brothers and sisters will live to reproduce. From a genetic standpoint, this self sacrifice makes sense.
You might wonder about the chemical’s other function though–to attract more pike. A minnow’s skin is most likely to be damaged in an attack from a relatively small pike. Larger pike simply swallow their minnows whole. Because of this, the alarm substance is usually released when a small pike is attacking. This means that the chemical might well attract pike that are larger than the minnow’s current assailant. Pike have no qualms about eating other pike, so if a big one sees a smaller pike chasing a tiny minnow, that big pike will go after the larger mouthful, allowing the minnow to escape.
