wow comlink!!!! thanx!!! I could only find two of those songs – rak atah and Im Ein Ani – I really want to listen to the others! I cant find them on amazon, mostly music or cdbaby….and I cant access YouTube, is there anywhere else I can find them? never even heard of either of those singers!

What do u mean by “live event”? It’s not like a show 🙂 It doesnt have to be long; most songs are too high or too slow so will probably get someone to play it on the keyboard and we’ll record it (I have no patience for audacity….)No it really has to be Jewish, or at least, accepted as totally Jewish (Hashem Melech, Zoche, Yidden etc.)

When I wrote that list of songs on the previous page, those are songs I felt are sincere, genuine, from the heart etc. 🙂

    thanx sidi! thats sweet 🙂

healthcrazy – thats so funny coz my friends just recently became obsessed with show me the way! Its a really nice song I love it! I dont know why but it reminds me of shwekeys song shema, which I also love 🙂

I think Dina Storch and Miriam Israeli have the most gorgeous songs (the few that I know, anyway)

Not that I am against the sem AT ALL – on the contrary, I love the sound of it!! (I wouldn’t have applied otherwise!) But even though it’s a great sem, to me it just seems like a very academic girl would really not be stimulated enough there. My school is about the least academic school in existence so for me that’s fine……the truth is Randomex that I was just assuming that your sister is as smart as you, which may or may not be the case 🙂 (get what I’m saying?)

So I did tonz of research into KC – read whatever I could about it, talked to a girl who went last year, talked to a girl who is there now, and my sis spoke to a girl and a madricha there as well. From all of that I learned: It’s not an academic sem at all. The girls who go there are really sweet and friendly, it’s usually about half-half mix (oot and in town). There’s 5-7 girls per room. It’s not tracked, but the classes are split into 2 just to make it easier, but they learn the same things on the same level. It’s a very hashkafa based seminary. If you have nowhere to go for Shabbos they’ll place you, dw you wont be left stranded 🙂 the staff is very caring and approachable, especially the principals. There is NOT a lot of work at all- this is a very good or very bad thing, depending on who you are and where you are coming from. They are in a great location, and the living conditions are good. There are no model lessons (a HUGE relief for me!!!!!) Every monday there is half-day tiyul- morning classes til 1:45, tiyul from 2:00. Full-day tiyul every so often, and two-day tiyul twice in the year. Once a month is a mandatory in-shabbos. I don’t remember the full schedule, but I think that they have most afternoons off. Night classes are 7:30-9:20, except every second wednesday – they get off. Every first wed is at a teacher’s house (I think). Every thursday afternoon is chessed. On friday, from 9-9:45 am is a make-up test (if you need one). Then there’s an optional class, then a mandatory class until 11:30, then the rest of the day off. I think there’s about half rabbanim and half female teachers. There are no courses. The girls are between seminar and bya “type”(as in middle of the road, with some a bit more right- and some a bit more left-wing). Every person that I and my sis spoke to said they love KC and really recommend it, however if you are extremely academic/studious I probably would not recommend it – but that is just my personal opinion. If you like you could ask other questions and I’ll try to tell you acc to what I know from ppl who went there! Good luck! 🙂

I found something weird. If you type in # before a poster’s name (e.g. http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/profile/#patur-aval-assur) it automatically goes to your profile page. Randomex why does that happen? (Btw, I tried with other symbols such as % and that just says there’s an error….)

My friend once left a message on her mom’s phone, “mom! my foot’s KILLING me! Could you please come?” A minute later, her mother called her back, frantic. Apparently, it had come up as a text, “Mom, he’s KILLING me!” lol 😀

Whoops! I wasn’t in CR then so I just took writersoul’s word for it (though I quite like “of being a member” better than “of having a subtitle”!)

    **************************CORRECTION************************************

Wallflower’s subtitle used to read “the perks of having a subtitle”

    (Better?:) )

    “It wasn’t exactly original, either.”

I don’t agree. (I meant original, as in creative, which I still think it is.)

    Randomex – right. Like:

“Randomex would you please enlighten me as to how that was apikorsus….”

(Me, on the things kids did/said thread)

“Randomex, are you male or female?”

(Showjoe, on the mistaken lyrics thread)

    ……..

(I have a strong suspicion that the ones I just mentioned were ignored rather than not seen ;P)

Midwesterner you made me LOL!!Not as funny as yours, but:

in HK airport there’s a shop advertising “free duty”

Also, I once saw a baby album in a store in shefa mall which had obviously been translated, it read:

“Hello, baby, love you Mom and Dad…

    Hello, baby, you cry today,

My mother is also very sad…

    Hello, baby, look at you

    Shouting happy,

    Well-being of mothers

    felt good all of

    a sudden enrichment…

    Hello, baby wrestling today,

    you are not careful,

and remember that after careful Oh…..”

If someone could please explain what on earth the author was trying to say I’d be very appreciative

eftach – i looked at the link – it’s from MMM?! That’s so cute! I never even knew that! (not a MMM fan) Which one is it on? (I – and I believe my class as well – know it from the video “Shai shai” – which incidentally is that video even around anymore?! Haven’t seen it in literally about 10 years…)

“I was reading a joke book to my niece, the question was “What is always coming, but never arrives?” (The answer was “tomorrow”)

    “Moshiach” she replied :)”

How on earth is that apikorsus? Remember this kid is a second-grader!! If anything it’s just the opposite!

“By the way, how exactly does a 3-year-old come

to know a phrase like “losing the plot?” “

lol my sister always says that when one of her kids goes absolutely nuts (hyper/tantrum/crazy) “Oh no, <insert name of child> has totally lost the plot…….”
