Health- i guess i am not understanding you and you are not understanding me but i respect your opinion and i hope you respect mine too because i’m sure if i would be able to really tell you what i mean you would understand. so lets just agree to disagree?

eclpise- i know what you are saying and i am very into that as well (being able top learn something from every yid…) i work very hard on that and after each date i sit with my mother and go through the date and point out one good thing (at least) that i saw about him. it really helps me to be positive. just because i say i dont like long dates doesnt mean i am a bad dater =)

health- “they know right away they have no interest in you, but they give you the same time and treat you the same way as everyone else!” … who says i dont???? just beacuse i said i agree that i hate that dates sometimes seem so long does not mean i have no patience for people and act like i am having a good time on a very long date (because i happen to be a VERY patient person and always try my best to be positive in a situation something i pride myself for) or that i cant work out a fight? i fail to see the connection between the two.

and i never said anything about “someone i cant stand” i was talking about someone who is just not for me plain and simple could be the nicest guy in the universe if he is not for me it wont click and it will seem like the longest night of my life nothing to do with who he is. sometimes personalities dont click

i don’t hink it should be a half hour date but i hate when the boy prolongs it when its obvious it doesnt click! and i happen to be a very tolerant person and i like to give people chances….

Eclipse- your points are SPOT ON and make me smile on how true they are!

mike the problem is that most people arent as educated as you. so people hear diabetes they automatically assume that i brought it on myself by being overweight and nt caring about myself when in fact nothing is fartherf rom the truth. i was born with this and i probably am healthier than most people out there, but because people have no idea that there are 2 types of diabetes they assume that i dont care my health and when i eat whatever i feel like they assume i am ignoring my diabetes when i have an insulin pump and have no restrictions. they also assume that i cant have children when in fact i will probably have a better pregnancy than normal people. it’s insane the way people think and i feel like why should i subject myself to their judgements before necessary. thats just my opinion with first hand experience

my friends father who is a doctor just pointed this out: i was sick with a stomach virus on shabbos when this started, he said that being sick takes a lot from the body so he said it makes sense that i kept going low. he said i should wait a few days till it completely passes out of my system before i make any changes.

mike- i have diabetes since i was 9. i was told i dont have to tell till the 3rd date. if you dont have diabetes or something like that you have NO right to judge. people dont understamd diabetes and even though i have NOTHING to be ashamed of.. and i dont feel embarassed at all. but i dont feel the need to tell every guy i go out with about it because there is no reason for them to know. if i felt something on the 2nd or even 1rst date id tell them but otherwise i wait for the 3rd. if you want to hear more about this there is a whole conversation about it in the “diabetes support group” thread. but please for the future dont say “how sad” if you dont have any idea about how we live with it. thanks:)

no it was not rapid it was over 2 and a half weeks. i probably should change my basals. i am nervous though that it will stop and then my numbers will be high. think i should just try it anyways? (this whole diabetes thing is a game of trial and error i guess…)

i lost like 5 pounds but thats not major right? its like i eat and it goes up but then goes right back down again it’s so frutrating. i eat protein to make it stay up (my doc said its really important to do that) but it still goes back down its so annoying!

    WOW allsgr8 what a story!!!!!

mine is not that interesting…. i had been complaining about not feeling well for a while… my parents thought i was just pretending to be not feeling well so i wouldnt have to go to school because i couldn’t really explain what was bothering me (and i was kinda that type if i’m being honest….) so my mother took me to the doctor. my doc was running late so she asked the nurse to do blood work etc before she came in. when she came in we could tell something was wrong. she toold us that my blood sugar was very high and that i have diabetes and that i was lucky we caught it. she sent me to the ER and i spent 10 hours there with my mother and sister until we got a room. we met doctors (THE BEST DOC I EVER HAD!!!)and we saw that the signs were there all along. i spent a week in the hospital and then a few days home from school after that. i remember just wanting to get back to normal, i guess it’s just a different normal to me now!

that’s a nice idea! my family doesn’t even acknowledge it realy besides my mother and oldest sister. i like going over the details in my head though… like “nine years ago at this time i was on my way to the hospital or Just getting into a room” etc

does any one care to share their stories if when/how they were diagnosed? or any stories from the beginning? (i am feeling very nostolgic lol)
