allsgr8- i used that band when i had a different pump.. that’s a gr8 idea for my PDM i’m gonna try tp find it thanks!!
as far as the daveing for eachother.. BRILLIANT idea! count me in!!!
cofeefanMemberi love the omnpod! it is the 3rd thing i tried and i’m telling u it’s really the best!! no one sees it! for weddings (and dates…) i make sure to put it on my leg and even after i point it out to my friends they can’t find it! it really got me in great control (my A1C went from 7.7 to 6.8 in 3 months…) and the handheld device looks like a blackberry so when i give a boluys peole think im texting i would strongly reccomend it!
cofeefanMemberhealth…. i think that’s a great idea except for the fact that we can’t just pick a boy who works in medicine like there is hundreds of them to chose from… especially because we are all young… but if you can find me one i definately agree it’s a good idea
and it still doesn’t solve the problem of whether to tell or not (at least for me) because i don’t need every boy knowing about it… doesn’t matter that he is in the medical feild he still might not be the one for me and i don’t need him knowing about my diabetes. it’s a complicated decsion that each person has to make on their own
cofeefanMemberlol forever1…. that’s certinly a solution to our worries…. (if we cld find 20 yr old type 1 boys that is…)
cofeefanMemberallsgr8- i totally agree with you i’m glad to know someone else shares the same view as me… just one question.. what do you do on a date with your meter etc? i am on the omnipod system that has a meter and control device that is the size of a blackberry that i MUST have on me at all times… i don’t know what to dowith it when i go out… last few dates were BH either in the winter or when it was rainy that i had to bring a coat/jacket but now in the summer i don’t know what to do with it and winkies if i need them?
cofeefanMemberallsgr8…. yes alot of people do, i am not shy about it i just don’t feel like every boy needs to know… i’d rather them get to know ME a little before they get to know the diabetes… does that make sense? what do you do?
cofeefanMemberrebbitzin- i am exactly like you i have gone out only 2 times before and each time i was so nervous i asked a rav and he said it was a personal choice whether i wanted to tell or not. part of me wants to because it would make everything easier but i also feel like why should every boy know? (though i am in no way ashamed of it…) i am also very confused and so happy to find others in this situatuion… (i am now 20 and was diagnosed with type 1 at 11 years old…)
