Soliek: There are crazies in Meah Shearim and crazies in Beit Shemesh. Why equate that fraction with the whole?
chocandpatienceMemberyeah, ZK. And you would never have got your ‘how to start a thread’ thread going.
chocandpatienceMemberThis is all theoretical.
As I mentioned above, it wasn’t an accidental switch and both the culprit and Shlomo knew that.

We had what to talk about, but there were also [short] periods of silence here and there. We usually walked around – I would have got tongue-tied face to face.

chocandpatienceMembernice try, but wrong, popa.
they could easily have been switched accidentally.
You need to know a little about sleeping arrangements, tiredness, and mothers of small babies.
chocandpatienceMembermoi aussi: thank you for your explanation.
chocandpatienceMemberdash: yep 🙂
In summation: no way than the current one.
chocandpatienceMemberr-b. Then it’s me getting paranoid.
I apologise.
chocandpatienceMembernow, now, real-brisker. Don’t get paranoid.
Tro11 has been around a long time. He has explained once that his name is Tro, not Troll.
chocandpatienceMemberdash: you haven’t answered his question
January 1, 2012 1:52 am at 1:52 am in reply to: in response to the mechalel shabbos troll thread #840312chocandpatienceMemberchocandpatienceMembereh?
chocandpatienceMemberI knew that (even though I didn’t get to shul)
I was answering your question.
c’mon. YOu can do better than that!
January 1, 2012 1:21 am at 1:21 am in reply to: Does such a guy have a chance of getting happily married? #840615chocandpatienceMemberWIY: That descrption fits me very well. I didn’t find it affected my dating prospects. I personally would not have chosen talkative dates, since that would have emphasised my quietness.
(I know of a couple where she doesn’t stop talking and he never talks. Happily married over 50 years. She seems to do over 95% of the talking.)
chocandpatienceMemberWelcome back Mod 80.
You were missed.
chocandpatienceMemberPlan B. We’ll just never know what it was.
I thought that he realised the truth – that one was lying (you can see it in his wording in the pesukim). He was just trying to catch her out.
January 1, 2012 12:55 am at 12:55 am in reply to: Does such a guy have a chance of getting happily married? #840611chocandpatienceMemberNo.
Yes.
Yes.
chocandpatienceMemberyeah what?
chocandpatienceMemberDoesn’t necessarily mean anything.
I actually lurked quite a while before I created a user name and I think I knew how to change my nick-name by then.
chocandpatienceMemberHow is that possible, real-brisker posts here plenty, but under his profile it has just three posts?

disagree with your premise.
but as mexipal said, it’s cute.
chocandpatienceMemberQ: why do we eat donuts on chanukah?
A: because they contain enough oil for 8 days
chocandpatienceMembertwisted: why insulting? I think it’s cute.
Suggest a replacement, if you want it removed.
chocandpatienceMemberonegoal – are you really 16? You seem far more mature than that.
Hatzlacha!
chocandpatienceMemberBTGuy “Now I have to bring my computer to the mikva. “
LOL!
chocandpatienceMemberCAD: “its not bypass but can you say “gangrene”?”
do you mean that seriously? Even if I butcher my toe-nail, where does gangrene come in?
chocandpatienceMemberShticky Guy: I think AYC dropped in once under another SN recently. I might have been mistaken, though.
I admire your success with your ‘cr addiction’ – I’m not succeeding with mine. Like you, I’m missing Mod 80 and AYC’S posts.
chocandpatienceMemberThe Meah Shearim residents have chosen a certain way of life.
(don’t equate sikrikim with meah shearim)
Why can’t people respect their wishes?
chocandpatienceMemberkolel101, if someone wants to be anon, let him be.
Jothar, it’s not your message that I [and I assume others] object to, it’s your method. A little too much of the ‘sledge hammer’. We’ve discussed all this already.
chocandpatienceMembersoliek: we’re talking head lice, not body lice
chocandpatienceMembersecond fiddle
i can also blow my own trumpet
chocandpatienceMembercombing and checking is the only sure way to do it.

chocandpatienceMemberHealth: “The incidence of depression and/or mental illness is probably greater amongst Frum people than others. “
too many ‘probably’s. Can you give us some firm evidence?
chocandpatienceMembertzaddiq “today, I’m super lazy. Which is like normal lazy but I’m also wearing a cape”
🙂
chocandpatienceMemberhaleivi: thanks, got it now
chocandpatienceMemberSam2: I thought so, too, at first. But his quotes [the ones I noticed] were either invented or totally taken out of context. There is a limit to what I can attribute to abject stupidity, which is why I came to my conclusion above.
chocandpatienceMemberthanks, mods!
chocandpatienceMemberI don’t think he’s interested in tznius at all. I think he’s maliciously trying to make respected talmidei chachamim look foolish
mods: can’t you just replace ‘Rabbi X/Y/Z’ in his future posts with ‘Rabbi MichaelC’
chocandpatienceMemberit was answered by onegoal, but the post was then deleted.
December 8, 2011 6:16 pm at 6:16 pm in reply to: Separate Times For Bochurim & Sem Girls In Gateshead #1029649chocandpatienceMemberGavra and Popa:
bear in mind that this may not be the exact truth. I don’t know how the girls/yeshiva rule works, but knowing a little of the Gateshead layout, ‘an extra 15 mins’ doesn’t make much sense.
chocandpatienceMemberHaLeivi: can you explain your last para some more – didn’t get it.
chocandpatienceMemberrb: it’s sad that respected talmidei chachamim are being demeaned in this way. At first I thought it was stupidity; now I’m beginning to see there’s malicious intent
chocandpatienceMemberlemaysa: you’re right
popa: thanks
Mommamia22, this might interest you:
When looking into a yeshiva for a family member, we were told that sending an at-risk teen to EY was ‘homicide’. (Though I don’t remember whether he referred to EY or specifically Yerushalayim.) With a short bus ride, he’s in Ben Yehuda or the like and can still be sitting cherubically back in class on time.
(I think that even for a boy who is not OTD, one still needs to wary if he’s the type to get easily influenced.)
chocandpatienceMemberHealth, I don’t think you are right to ‘educate’ mamashtakah. Not in this way, and not at all.
chocandpatienceMemberMichaelC: “popa people take drugs and alcohol for reasons to intermix with genders (main reason)-don’t fool yourself, i have proofs from the talmud.”
You are not making sense. To which of popa’s points are you taking exception?
I can just see separate visiting times for girls and boys in Ben Yehuda!
chocandpatienceMemberlemaysa: there’s always the off-chance of getting bombed, too.
chocandpatienceMembersam2: thanks
popa_bar_abba: +1. Cmon, make mincemeat of ‘im, he’s raising my blood pressure. I think I may say something I’ll regret.

popa: he’s trying to be funny
ahoy mods: bowwow = troll
December 6, 2011 8:55 pm at 8:55 pm in reply to: Separate Times For Bochurim & Sem Girls In Gateshead #1029616chocandpatienceMemberdunno:
Not quite like Geula.
Firstly, Geula is a small part of Yerushalayim. Shoppers there don’t know each other and will probably never meet again. In Gateshead, the main street is all there is and the students *will* be meeting often and getting to know each other.
Secondly, in Geula you have a relatively small number of students within a crowd of adults. In Gateshead, bein hasedarim, the shoppers are probably 90% students.
Also, Tvideer mentioned shidduchim 30 years ago. That wouldn’t happen today, both due to the change in times and in the huge increase in number of students. You’d get flirting today, not shidduchim.
