“So please explain to us all exactly WHAT someone seated far from any trashbin, without pushing over many people in middle of davening, is to do on Shabbos after blowing his nose.”

Do what all decent people do; they walk over to the trash and make a deposit, until the next blow. And how long does it take to walk to the trash can in your shul? And what do you do if you need to use the facilities or whatever and it’s “far” and you don’t want to push over people; let it rip in middle of davening? I hope not, Naysberg. So do everyone a toiva and get rid of your snotty tissues and whatever.

Naysberg – “The only effective remedy for this crisis is that shul’s strategically place many trashbin’s throughout the shul near all the tables.”

I assure you Naysberg your solution is doomed to failure because a slob is always a slob. They will find every excuse why they are that way but kibud bais haknesses and kavode habrios is not one of them.

The Goq – thank you for digging up those posts; I don’t keep a file. But they are 100% the truth, and you know it.

I posted them, and others, in the spirit of Penina taunting Chana. I have had singles coming over for the past forty years and some from the early years still do. Others have married along the way, we recently had a +40’s marriage. And there is hardly anything that I post that is original, I’m not that clever.

Life is very short and what do you have to lose? Just marry and get some lifelong companionship and giving. It doesn’t say anywhere in the Torah that a marriage needs to be eternal happiness, but it’s a lot better than a single’s existence.

Health, I’m glad to see that you agree with me.

“Is it bc of supporting the state of Israel”

Israel is great, we proclaim that at least three times a day.

    “bc of tzniyus reasons”

Yes, why muddy up a mitzva with marchers who look like zonas.

    “or bc of bitul Torah”

    People need to relax sometimes.

Did it ever occur to you that either he or his wife just doesn’t like you? It happens. It happened to me in my shul. Someone with whom I have a wonderful relationship with was making a wedding and I didn’t get an invitation. So I asked him if it was an oversight and he fumphet some excuse and I realized that it was his wife. It’s not the end of the world.

    Who are “they”?

And are you saying that if Rav Harari spoke English or Yiddish, that he would have been invited to address the Asifa?

And how do you know that he doesn’t?

    Can’t go; it’s in English.

“The Roshei Yeshivos shlit”a’s, who are great gedolim, took the extremely rare occasion to empty their yeshivos (including the largest Yeshiva of the all – Lakewood) for the Kinus Klal Yisroel Asifa. They never in recent memory have done so (not for rallies, not for tehilim asifas, etc.)”

They did it during the Six Day War to send a message to our government not to abandon Israel.

“…unfiltered internet is assur under any and all circumstances…Unfiltered internet is eating chazir and having a treif kitchen.”

Excuse me, but I will take these words seriously when I hear the poskim and Rabbonim proclaim publically to their flocks, their chasidim and talmidim; that smoking is assur under any and all circumstances, and that smoking is eating chazir and having a treif kitchen.

We all know that smoking is the cause of early death, young widowed wives and orphans, kids off the derech, broken famalies, money and sholom bais problems; to name a few. So how about it G’dolim, with all due respect?

There are thousands of Rabbis who have various functions outside the pulpit, such as: they teach in religious schools; supervise kashrus; work for frum organizations and agencies; work for kiruv; are shochtim or mohelim; have smicha but hold regular jobs; etc. Their wives are not Rebbetzins.

I have always found airlines to be reasonable with reasonable customers.

If you explain in advance that you are needed to assist your parents on flight and don’t want to annoy other passengers when you need to climb over them, they will get the point.

Never use your religion as a device to accommodate your whims; airline personnel are professionals and they will see right through you. And if you don’t get your way; so what? Be polite at all times and never ever create a chillul Hashem.

There are special potties made for Tisha B’av which is 11 inches high and conforms to halacha. At Eichler’s, they can be found next to the Shabbos bathroom paper and across the aisle from the chametz packets which sell for only $1.99 each. They are wonderful as the ten pieces come individually double wrapped and you get the b’racha included as well. America, what a wonderful country!

Mod 18, you can’t agree with popa and then add onion soup mix. That’s as silly as adding a can of chicken soup to your chicken soup. Don’t over season the cholent because it will overpower the actual taste of the dish. However, I do a cholent similar to Popa but have little or no beans. You can try premium chuck instead of flankin; after hours of simmering it’s as good as or better than flankin. Also bury some turkey pupik and cheek meat in the mixture, and lay a chicken feesil and turkey neck across the top. Try it and you will repeat. Ketchup; tomato sauce; feh!
