I think when you are an introvert you need time away from people for a while. I know I cannot be in crowds as it makes me nervous. An extrovert is always looking to socialize and make new friends, and I would rather just have a few close ones. Introverts are more sensitive to feelings I think.
chayaleahMemberI don’t mean to discourage people, I was just writing about my feelings. Yes working in the nursing homes is the worst setting but it seems now that the majority of the jobs are there. I have extreme burnout because everyone around is dieing and in pain and there is not anything I can do to help. I feel like I am bothering them to get them out of bed when they would rather just rest but am forced to do therapy with them as you have to bill for a certain amount of minutes. It goes against my conscious really but what can you do. I know I am in the wrong job and as I say it makes me so depressed everyday. Sorry to write this and don’t want to be a downer but that is how I feel at the moment.
chayaleahMemberI am an occupational therapist. Unfortunately I do not enjoy the work. It consists of taking people to the bathroom, dressing, bathing and feeding them. Maybe for another person it is ok, but to me it is quite depressing. The work is usually in a nursing home and you work with extremely sick people and are required to see them for as many minutes as their insurance or medicare will allow. I wish I had chosen a different field.
