Most school boards in Virgnia are elected. When they do stupid things they can be tossed out by the voters.

I read all of them. None of them were targeted at Israel. They were about Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen. There was not a single SC resolution targeting Israel in 2020. Nor has there been in 2021.

If you read the history of the 17th Amendment you will learn that the impetus for it was the state legislatures themselves. They were tired of having their elections nationalized. They were very close to getting an Article V Convention when Congress finally gave in and sent them the 17th Amendment for ratification, which occurred quickly.

Ed Jackson was a KKK member and Governor of Indiana. Clarence Morley was a KKK member and Governor of Colorado. Both were Republicans. Calvin Coolidge openly sought KKK support in 1924. William Howard Taft and Herbert Hoover actively tried to purge the Republican Party of Black’s, particularly in the South, and largely succeeded, in something called the “lily white movement”. Rutherford B. Hayes ended Reconstruction and allowed Jim Crow to proceed unabated. Not until 1936 would the Republican Party finally stop the racism, but it instead turned to anti-Semitism in the lead up to World War II. A miracle happened in 1940 when it nominated lifelong Democrat Wendell Willkie for President and endorsed Civil Rights but that ended in 1964 for good. Richard Nixon, who as late as 1960 had a good civil rights record, welcomed the racists into the Republican Party whom the Democrats had expelled. The last good thing a Republican president did for civil rights was when Nixon appointed Lewis Powell to the Supreme Court. Powell, an otherwise conservative corporate lawyer, was loved by Virginia civil rights activists. Lewis Powell was a Democrat, the last person to be nominates to the Supreme Court by a President of the opposite Party.
There were exceptions. My great grandfather was a big Republican activist in Kentucky a century ago. He helped to get Edwin Morrow elected Governor in 1919. Morrow got the legislature to enact an anti-lynching law, and he sent the National Guard to Lexington to prevent a lynching. The National Guard opened fire on the lynch mob, killing a number of them. That of course ended Morrow’s political career. 🙁
Republican apologists for their party’s terrible recent civil rights record rarely admit the party’s history. Only from 1940 to 1960 was it superior to the Democrats.
Read the clinical trial results. There has not been as dramatic a reduction on mortality of any medical intervention in over half a century. That is true for the Pfizer, Moderna, and J&J vaccines. Get vaccinated as soon as you are eligible. There are no really good treatments (hydroxychloroquine has been absolutely proven to be useless).

Furthermore the Democratic Party expelled its racists in the 1960s and 1970s. The Republican Party embraced them with open arms. Barry Goldwater, Ronald Reagan, and George H. W. Bush all opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which was unquestionably good for Jews. Like I said, learn some American history.

(Well I wish we did have Netanyahu as the US head of government rather than Trump, as Netanyahu has about 40 more IQ points and did a great job on COVID-19, unlike the venal Trump.} These are exactly the same memes for which Ilhan Omar correctly gets called out for anti-Semitism. Anyone calling out Omar but supporting Trump is a hypocrite whose interest is other than fighting anti-Semitism.
Trump said that “very fine people” marched with Nazis in Charlottesville. Absolutely no excuse for that. Unequivocably condemning Nazis should be the easist political position to take, but Trump had to make it like he was looking to get supporters on both sides. (Note that both David Duke and Louis Farrakhan had supported Trump in 2016. Three hatemongers — all birds of a feather.)

Actually they are very much Torah concepts, at least if you get your Torah through Moshe Rabbeinu rather than Ayn Rand. See the numerous agricultural tithes, the mandatory charity contributions that the Rabbis instituted to replace them when we ceased to be an agricutural people (and which were instituted in the diaspora as well as in Eretz Yisrael). Also see regarding business conduct the requirements for honesty and transparency, fair treatment of workers, fair competition, and prohibition of charging or paying interest. And note that you can get flogged and get your property confiscated if you decide that you don’t like your wealth being redistributed or yourself being controlled. Chazan and Rambam talk about this extensively, and in great detail. Regarding business conduct the Torah is arguably to the left of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren.

I’ve known numerous gun nut Democrats. My wife’s family are far left and love their guns. Go to Vermont and you will find that a lot of Bernie Sanders supporters are armed to the teeth. (Proud Boys better not try anything up there in the mountains.) I’ve been to Texas, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Alaska and I’ve never seen anyone other than a hunter or a law enforcement officer open carrying; I’ve seen it a lot in Vermont. Oh and you have never needed a permit to carry in Vermont.
Just looked at some election district by election district results. Biden carried every election district in Riverdale, Teaneck, Passaic, Skokie, and Toco Hills, usually by pretty big margins. The idea that orthodox Jews are automatically Trump supporters is not backed up by data. Still waiting on California data.
Never in the past 40 years would I have thought I would see a Democratic Congress vote to spend $2.75 billion on aid to non-public schools, and to have every single Republican vote against it. It has been almost a half century since there has been significant Democratic support for aid to non-public schools in large number.
