While the Hatzalah placards doesn’t really bother me, even if is the wife’s car, after all she gives up a lot by not having her husband around, what bothers me is the following. You have plenty of cars that have the D.O.T. placards stating that they can park at meters for free, tying up a spot for days at time, no need to move during alternate side parking, causing the spot not being cleaned. The problem is that most these placards are giving to people in our community with pull with politicians. There is no reason why XYZ worth 100 million dollars should have one simply because he’s Buddy Buddy with _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _!!!

    EDITED

My husband has a chaver of his from his mesivta days, who is high up in the NYC Dept of Finance, he is the equivalent of a NYPD Lieutenant. He told my husband about the corruption of issuance of all these phoney placards being issued. He explained that some vehicles are registered under a handicapped relative, who has no connection with the vehicle, but is issued a handicapped placard. It goes on and on…..

Sam2: Thanks for explaining it. Noach did not have children until he was 500 years old, and assuming that Na’amah was his wife, she was well over 500 years old as she was born well before Noach.

As for who is the longest living person? The answer is Chirum Melech Tzur, who was rewarded by Hashem for having assisted Shlomo in building the Bais Hamikdash. He lived for a 1000 years and became so conceited that he believed himself to be a deity. For that, Hashem killed him.

To all who don’t like Nasi’s approach:

    WHAT’S YOUR APPROACH?

WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT IT?

    (other then complain)

That’s your response! Because people are not doing anything other then complain, which in of itself is untrue, as myriads of people are redting shidduchim on their own, we should give money for a possible money scam. Your reasoning in nothing less then absurd.

The Goq; We have no interest in them whats so ever. It is hard not to notice someone who sits 2 seats away from you. As for my husband, who serves as Gabbai Rishon and treasurer in our Bais Medrash, it hard not to notice especially when the son constantly approaches my husband with all his “complaints”.

The Goq; She is not conversing with Hashem. My husband tells me her husband who is 13 years older then her, and one of their sons who is divorced does the same thing. The divorced son starts talking to himself when something in shul annoys him. For example, if the Ba’al Tefilla is taking a little to long, etc.

Psychology 101: If you are talking to someone and during that time he/she is mouthing something, it is a supposed response to what you are saying without listing to what you are really saying.

They say talking to yourself is not a problem. It’s when you answer yourself you better start worrying.

Did you ever hear the one with the guy with multiple personalities goes to his shrink, and when asked to pay the bill responds; “He (one of my other personalities) will pay the bill”.

Seriously, I know of a middle aged woman in shul who carries on silent conversations with herself. It’s creepy and weird.

My Brothers and Sisters in Lakewood do not have internet. Or Blackberry’s. One doesn’t even have a radio in his home. If he wants to hear the news or weather, he goes into his car. Truth be told, you can see the Kedusha of those homes without internet as opposed to those with internet. Yes I know, I have internet!

Rav Moshe held that if you Daven in a Bais Medrash who’s nusach differ’s then you own, you can daven with your own nusach. The only thing that you must say in tandem with the rest of the minyan is the Kedusha in Chazoras Ha’shatz.

If I told you that your Rov and Posek, Rav Hershel Schachter, Shlita spends time in the CR, to either disseminate Torah, or pasken Shailos would you believe me? Of course not! At least I hope you wouldn’t believe it! I know my Rov and Posek, wouldn’t be caught dead here!!!

Rav Moshe, one of the biggest Ashkenazi posek, says that they should change to Ashkenaz.

If your going to quote Rav Moshe, do so correctly. Don’t be part of the 90% of people who say things in his name which is either untrue or skewed.

What Rav Moshe said was that if you daven Nusach Sefard you can permanently change to Nusach Ashkenaz. However if you daven Nusach Ashkenaz it is assur to permanently switch to Nusach Sefard.

Health, I originally posted against talking about him after the Old Man’s post. This Old Man has claimed and most believe him that he is an old time Poisek in EY.

Your naive for believing him. If he was whom he claimed to be, he would not be here in the CR.

soliek; Having a phobia does not mean a person is lacking in Emunah and Bitachon. I can bring you case histories of current and previous Gedolim who suffer(ed) from phobias, while being on the highest madreiga of Emunah and Bitachon. I am not going to mention his name, but one of the greatest Gedolim of the previous generation suffered from Ailurophobia, the fear of cats. I can name you a list of Gedolim and Poskim who are of the opinion that your Rov is dead wrong. Let him speak with any frum psychologist or psychiatrist.

Hashem implanted in every human being a liking to a particular profession, otherwise everyone would occupy themselves in the same field with no benefit to mankind. You realistically have to take stock in which field is best for you. While a personal shopper might sound glamorous to you at this stage of your life, it might be a dream and nothing more. in the meantime, be a teenager and enjoy life!

My husband since his mid teens knew what he wanted to do as an occupation. He self taught himself his profession while in Bais Medrash, was able to do it in the early morning and at night when he was in Kollel for 10 years and B”H he never looked back.

Brain chemicals, genetics and traumatic experiences also appear to influence the development of phobias.

It’s disgusting, repulsive and a real Chillul Hashem!
