The way to “never again” is Teshuva, Teffila, Utzeduka Maviren es rowe Hagizeira…All the guns wont stop a Gezeira
CascadeParticipantThe reason for not wanting a child of divorce as a potential daughter/son-in-law, aside from all the garbage that goes on, or even in an amicable divorce, is that the child grew up seeing the towel thrown in and therefore if something goes awry they are more likely to do so too. Though if the child grows up in a remarriage that works out nicely i dont see why this would be an issue.
January 18, 2023 4:16 am at 4:16 am in reply to: Shidduchim Between Litvish Girls and Chasidish Boys #2157353CascadeParticipantthe way i understand the Chasidishe shiduch issue is that as their girls marry so incredibly young to rather young boys. a girl who who reaches 20 is “old” and how old of a boy should she marry and so boys who havent married by the time they are 25-26 are old and passed up. i have read about this being their issue and while i do know of a few couples that are L girl marrying C boy it is usually when they are way older in their 30s
CascadeParticipantin 1923 it also took awhile..something about the number
CascadeParticipantRegarding the end of your comment- you banning your wife from speaking to her close friend- that should definitely create a hostile house for you to live in!!
CascadeParticipantThe two Telshe Yeshivos are at this point both strong Yeshivos but the Chicago branch may be a little bit more so, the Cleveland Yeshiva since the infighting ended is building itself back up and is a very strong if not as Elitist a Yeshivah for now-will have to see what the future brings
CascadeParticipanti grew up in the 70s in Boro Park where Yankel Feffercorn was a known person. He had social/mental issues but was rather harmless although when young boys picked on him he would sometimes get very upset (understandably). My father zl used to give him time and allow him to unload his heavy heart about situations in his life. We were always told to treat him as a mench.
CascadeParticipantLeah, I have noticed a few times where Israelis refer to Yidden outside of EY as Gulos Jews! Living in EY does not mean you arent a Gulos Jew as Moshiach has not come.. not even in EY!!
