Too vague to answer. Why is the person no longer in his life?
canineMemberI am in Mod 80’s boat and agree with him entirely. Unless there is not a single person of the opposite gender (within a reasonable age range) looking to get married, it IS ALWAYS possible to get married. (Barring very very exceptional circumstances i.e. a major health issue).
And that is always the case.
And, absolutely, a life of singlehood is immeasurably worse than a marriage to someone less than your “ideal” partner. To claim there isn’t a single qualified candidate to marry is completely preposterous.
canineMemberRabbeinu Gershom had no problem with the punishment for it.
canineMemberI saw a live video of him there sitting next to some priests.
canineMemberEVEN IF Obama was born in Kenya, he is a natural citizen of the U.S., a citizen from the moment he was born, as his mother was a U.S. Citizen at the time of his birth.
If your mother and grandparents and great-grandparents are all U.S. Born citizens, and your mother goes on a vacation overseas and gives birth to you early over there, you are a natural citizen from birth.
canineMembercommonsense, try davening in a minyan three times a day, having seder every day, working a full day on the job, the boss yelling at you every other day, customers insisting on reaching you at whatever hour, studying with the boys their Torah lessons every day, helping the wife every day, giving the wife the money she “needs” every day. commonsense, you may be young, but when you get a little more experience you will realize what I am telling you — not just realize but live it.
canineMembergenuk shoin!
canineMemberI am sorry but women work much harder in the frum world and all boy has to pay with is having a bris for a lifetime of easier treatment.
Easier than a learning seder of 9 am – 10 pm? Easier than a work day of 8 am – 7 pm (plus a learning schedule for himself and then with his sons)? Easier than davening with a minyan 3 times a day?
canineMemberWine.
canineMemberYou want me to post my rov (who so paskens)? It can only happen PRIVATELY to your rov. There is a whole ‘nother thread with the consensus being it inappropriate to ask for a rov’s name.
canineMemberYes. The “money” in the game is the problem.
canineMemberAs soon as you provide the name and contact information of your rov, I will call him and give him that exact info you request.
canineMemberbelieve that any sane and responsible rav
So you appreciate that we respect your religious opinion, and that is the kind of respect we get back?? You question the sanity and responsibility of our rabbonim shlit”a.
C’mon Wolf, you can do better than that.
canineMemberEven IF it isn’t halachicly allowed to copy a rental, that would only be strictly applicable to the ORIGINAL disc. Once it has already been copied (even wrongfully), making a copy of the copy, would not have the rental restrictions applicable to it.
canineMemberKensington is a bit more yeshivish than Flatbush. Marine Park is a bit more modern than Flatbush.
canineMemberWolf – Yes.
Now I understand there are some minority opinions that hold otherwise. And I fully support their adherents from following their opinion. Nevertheless, we ask for the same respect.
canineMemberMDG – the Shulchan Aruch says to get drunk on purim.
canineMemberClassic is one of the only goyish musics that’s okay.
canineMemberAd dlo yoda means becoming stone drunk.
canineMember“used to attend the opera together in Berlin.
After they became Gedolim they never again did so.
canineMemberYes.
canineMemberDo they clean it together with the coffee machines?
canineMemberDo you know if the cleaning agents they used to clean that is kosher?
canineMemberBeing Mechallel Shabbos (to ostensibly keep Shabbos) is never a step forward. Chillul Shabbos is NEVER justified (other than things like pekuach nefesh et al).
canineMemberIf YOUR Rov says Ad Dlo Yoda means exactly what Shulchan Aruch says, and you MUST get drunk Ad Dlo Yoda, YOU MUST get drunk Ad Dlo Yoda, and you may not follow “other” opinions.
That’s what MY Rov says. I WILL follow my Rov.
canineMemberDid they clean the keilim since your last visit?
canineMemberThe mitzvah in shulchan aruch is AD DLO YODA.
canineMemberIf your rov holds for whatever reasons it is okay not to follow the halacha written in SA to drink alcohol ad dlo yoda, no one here is telling you that you must follow our rabbonim who do hold one must drink as such. But on the same token, do not try to impose your rabbi’s opinion on us not to drink, when our rov does hold one must drink ad dlo yoda as halacha states.
canineMemberAccording to Shulchan Aruch, it definitely IS what the Torah asks from us.
canineMemberrebbitzen, or maybe not.
canineMembermw, That was about taking medicine on Shabbos. I still don’t understand why. Is there anything wrong with discussing (not paskening) a halachic issue? If so, perhaps no halacha should be discussed here.

canineMemberI thought you live in BP.

You’re very wrong.
canineMember(yes girls are michuyav in ad dilo yodah also).
No they’re not. In fact its assur for girls.
Third, one can be yotze ad dilo yodah just by drinking (slightly) more than what one usually does.
According to SOME shittas. Not everyone holds from that shitta.
canineMemberGetting married very young helps prevent society’s and the workplace’s corrupting influences from coming into before marriage.
canineMemberAnd the obligation is ad dlo yoda.
If you’re rabbi holds there are alternatives, fine. Mine does not. My family is obligated to drink ad dlo yoda from age 13 and up.
canineMemberThe OBLIGATION to drink starts at age 13.
canineMemberIs he the only one who thinks what Chazal say is true?
canineMemberThey may be attention grabbing. Also, she may think if she has leggings, her skirt doesn’t need to be long enough.
canineMemberOfcourse, you make a very good case for girls to marry long before age 21.
canineMemberAZ, how did those 2 factors only become a problem starting 15 years ago and not 30 years ago?
canineMemberAZ, what might have changed that the girls dating 15 years ago did not have an age gap problem, but todays girls do?
canineMember…or trying to post apikorsus. I remember one poster here who used to attacked the correctness of Chazal and minimized what the Gemora says. One Shabbos he posted in the CR when it was Shabbos (in all of the U.S., Europe, and Israel.) When confronted, he claimed he was in Hong Kong at the time lol. That was almost the only area in the world that it wasn’t Shabbos at that time. Problem for him was the mods saw he posted from a Northeastern U.S. ip address.
canineMemberIs RuffRuff us too?

canineMemberAZ, when did the age gap issue first develop as a problem in the frum communities shidduchim?

canineMemberToddlers use boosters? Boosters aren’t that difficult.
canineMemberWhen can you NOT take medicine on Shabbos?
