nfgo3- why is everyone going on about my English???? i know how to spell!!! i know how to use grammar!!!! there is definitely no reason to blame my school! if you knew what school it was, you would definitely agree that my school is not lacking in academics! please believe me when i say that when it comes to what one wears the girls in my school don’t let it come in the way of academics! also, please don’t assume things about someone- it is quite rude! i on the one hand have an A+ in english since 1st grade!

yeshivaguy- r u serious??????? 1st of all if u read carefully enough u would notice i mentioned there are skewls that have a say in wat girls wear outside of skewl too!!!! i mean no denim- at all?!? wat else r u supposed to wear in camp?!?! and also it doesnt happen that way cuz once u start as clones and grow up that way- a) u dont know how to express urself b) at that point wear u dress yurself- ur just going to want to look like everyone else- its a girl thing so u wouldnt understand- once ur used to looking alike in skewl u think ur always supposed to look alike and then that peer pressure carries on thru out lif- whether u have a bugaboo carrige or not, the car u drive etc!

truthfully u dont know how much girls work in skewls these days!!!! the pressure is not normal especialyy cuz we hav to get top grades to get into the top seminary inorder to marry the top guy!!! and after those finals i think we deserve a break- no one is saying anyone has to go to florida and just cuz someone else is going doesnt mean u have to- ur adults stand up to the peer pressure- thats the reason why so many ppl fall victim to it cuz the ppl they look up to cant withstand it so why should they try- and btw for those who are saying all those things about florida- personally it shouldnt be any diff then here- Hashem is still there and watching u- oh and Bein Hasdorim-1) if u dont like it dont go 2) how much do u want to bet that more than 13.5 of them are maachon girls- u just cant tell cuz they are dressed very differently then wat u would think- and i’d like to see any of u take all those finals in a row two a day for a week- uld be going bonkers too!

also dont tell any one omg u look great- or u look like u lost weight- it messes with minds- be more specific- u look great in that dress- NEVER comment on someones weight- thats the start of eating disorders!!!!!

and now the students point of view: uniforms are good to an extent!!!!!!! yes telling the girls they have to wear exactly xy and z- does make girls resentful, not teach them how to dress, adn doesnt allow any indviduality!!!! we are NOT robots and u cant expect us to be!!!! *BUT* coming from a school where we have a choice of 4 diff. colored shirts, 2 diff colored skirts,school cardigan or vest- 2 diff. colors (with skewl emblem), valour or regular skewl sweatjacket, or senior sweatshirt from any year- they have no rule on how to wear our hair, or wat to wear in it- sure teachers might make comments but they cant make u take it off (maybe a hat they can) the only accesories they mention is too long earings- which they dont really enforce and nail polish and make up- which they are very strict on and i cant blame them– shoes wise they dont care it just cant be slipper, mule, or open toe (some skewls outlawed boots!!!) and sock wise- cant wear anklets socks and skirt must meet- knees must be covered at all times- they dont care wat color socks!!!!

now that is wat i call a good uniform- i have a freind in a kewl they dont let u wear denim out of skewl- not even a biz- wats it their bussiness the girls go crazy they cant do anything- and unfortunatley i no girls there that were very turned off by tznuis cuz the skewl even has tznuis police!!!!! then i have other friends who go to a skewl where all they have is a simple dress code and while its not meant to be a fashion show and the older girls stop caring- the younger girls start out making it a whole big deal! i think if there is a comprimise of both then it would be good! if the girls have some sort of outlet to express themselves like accessories or even shoes then it wouldnt be such a big deal!!!1 u can still look uniform but u shuld still look like u! its time to let people be themselves not be clones- and to tie everything toghther i no this is a bout uniforms but culd making everyone clones be the shidduch problem if every girl said wat they want and wat they are really like and not wat they were told to be like and want then maybe just maybe there would be a lot less availble girls cuz wat they are looking for would be more realistic

i just wanted to clarify- i never said i dont think i’m cute- i said beauty is in the eye of the beholder- but for the record i do think i’m cute- i just don’t want someone who’s priorites are the looks- looks is a side dish not the main course!!

and Pashutah Yid- notice reb chaim asked after and not in middle or before- obviously the rav wasn’t only asking altz looks first if the girl has great middos etc. then you can ask on looks….

now that i think about it it could be the same for the shidduch scene- but then girls deserve to get a picture of the guys! level the playing field! if i was crazy into looks why shouldn’t i only go out with a guy thats handsome/cute enough for me- girls have to have be apealed by the guys looks too if thats the reason you say as to y they ask for pictures

there is one in Far Rockaway- Machon Basya Rochel- from what i heard it is just like one in issrael but here! some of the ones here really arent that great but the teachers there are beyond amazing- i have heard a couple of their speeches and one of the teachers is my teacher! they are all really inspiring! if i was going to stay here that would be the one place i want to go- Rebbitzen Feiner is so inspiring- i am in awe of her- she is definetly someone to look up to

BYmeidel- if you happen to live in the farrockaway/ five towns area there are a couple of older girls in the neighborhood who used to have the same problem (now their busy with jobs and college) so they started a basketball game on motzei shabbos they had a panel last time i couldn’t go 🙁 but i heard it was great! if you want the info i’d be more than happy to give it to you!and even better its for the whole community so you girls not just from ur skewl! (not that there are that many high schools here!)

the guys not askin for a picture, his mother is- she wants to see if you’re: aidle, pretty, skinny, cute, etc. she also happens to show it to her son which if i may ask- is that tzneius? i mean i’m not one to talk about tzneius being i’m a teenage girl but then the guy is marrying her for her looks and isn’t that pretzus? to all the guys out there- GET YOUR PRIORITES STRAIGHT!!!! not every girl is 5″2-5″4, size 0-2, blonde hair, blue eyes, chesed head, g.o., popular!!! is what you want a trophy/ photograph or someone who understands you, cares about you etc.???? i for one would NEVER give a picture, if his mother is the one asking- i don’t want a mother in law who is so into looks- she should want a baalas chesed and middos tovos!! if he’s asking then i tell him go jump in a lake! ur obviusly conciete and full of yourself because you think you deserve someone who is practicly perfect- they make a little someone that pleases everyone- her name is BARBIE! she’s practically perfect and u can take her where ever you want- if someone asks for a pix maybe i’ll just give one of her- because it seems thats what everyone is looking for!!! and mothers- ur sons aren’t always the little perfect tzaddik/talmud chochom you think they are- u don’t want to no wat goes on in yeshivos!! (i only no this cuz i have brothers)shiddichum is now like a factory! the guy orders wat he wants- and a girl is made- straight out of sem!!! wat happened to the old way? before resumes? i have older siblings of who met their bashert without this factory way of shidduchim- someone knew someone who knew someone who had a cuzin who would be perfect for your son!!!! thats the way it went and it usually worked!

when they say trendy- it means:knows how to dress well and with it but tzniusdik! it is true flatbush is a B.C. type but there are many out of town girls as well as out of country! one might say they are Jappy- but it all depends on ur definition of a jap! also B.S. is more yeshivish while B.C. is not yeshivish, but not modern- i guess some would call it “normal” but B.C. has a more diverse group of girls than B.S.! i am so confused on the sem front! who thgt it would be this hard to find a skewl that fits!

TAG is an amazing school- they do not frown on taking girls from queens they frown on taking bkyln girls! because there are so many bklyn schools! every grade in the high school has anywhere from 5 to 10 girls! (estimate) there is a bus that provides transportation so she doesn’t have to take public transportation!This is my 14th year in TAG and I don’t have a single complaint! the teachers are the best! the girls are really nice! if you don’t believe me the open house is next week! come see for yourself!

I’m also looking into B.C. and i just wanted ot let you know that it isn’t the same as it used to be because mesores rachel took alot of their type of girls! Also last year B.C. had alot of mesilos type girls because mesilos closed down and B.C. had a gap tp fill because they had less girls than usual so they filled it woth them so to speak!
