I will agree with you on darchei binah, there are to many maohrs so I wont agree on that.
October 17, 2013 7:16 am at 7:16 am in reply to: Guy who knows everything here; ask me anything #1215186Burnt SteakParticipantmulti-part question coming up.
Who will win the Clemson – Florida State showdown, and will the winner be able to pass Bama or Oregon in the polls? Will the winner win the ACC? Will this game be better than the ACC title game? The BCS championship?
I expect answers from a person who “knows everything”.
I am not looking for answers that rag on sports. I want real opinion answers that have some basis to them.
I realize I sound like a teacher. Too bad. Begin the answering!
Burnt SteakParticipantA few great quotes to brighten your day!
“Men kick friendship around like a football, but it doesn’t seem to crack. Women treat it like glass and it goes to pieces.”
Anne Morrow Lindbergh
“I always wake up at the crack of ice.”
Joe E. Lewis
“A day without sunshine is like, you know, night.”
Steve Martin
“All right everyone, line up alphabetically according to your height.”
Casey Stengel
“I drank some boiling water because I wanted to whistle.”
Mitch Hedberg
“I failed to make the chess team because of my height.”
Woody Allen
Burnt SteakParticipantAlso, I don’t think it would be batampte for my daughter to go to a out of town, slow moving seminary with girls who are so comfortable and friendly that they have no standards.
Way to generalize!
I would advise Machon Mayan or Michlelet Esther
Burnt SteakParticipantI just realized I got one without asking =0
Mods, I’m wondering why it was that (don’t worry I like it and ain’t complaining) was it the post earlier where I said I’m a kitty cat ect…
yes
Burnt SteakParticipantI have no idea what btl means (bacon tomato lettuce?)
But I am suprised nobody mentioned YU
YU has a very good yeshiva program and they are a top 50 college.
They have all sorts of people and the beis is popping at night
Burnt SteakParticipantLook at me, I’m a kitty cat!
I wear a bowl of peanuts,? for a hat.
If I eat them all, I will get fat!
Eh blah blah blah
Imma kitty caaaaaattttttt
Burnt SteakParticipantI can’t say mine It would not be allowed by the mods.
But on shabbos I ducked under the first branch and got hit in the head by the second one.
Burnt SteakParticipantI love this weather. One of my favorite memories of sukkos was everyone eating in the sukkah while there was some snow on the ground.
Burnt SteakParticipantDouble post Sorry.
Burnt SteakParticipantI came out a bit too harsh. Just from personal experience, none of my relatives are religious and I had to “miss” my cousin’s marriage because they guy she married wasn’t a Jew.
The message I posted was sort of what I was told by my Rebbi. It still is awkward every time I see her. So I sort of know where you are coming from. Except my relatives way of dress doesn’t bother me too much.
And if I understand correctly your relatives look down on the orthodox way of life. That is tough. Only thing I can say to that is do your part by being nice and friendly and in the end they may reciprocate. Its not much but toughen your interior.
September 24, 2013 2:36 am at 2:36 am in reply to: Anyone went to college in Lakewood? And sem question. #976015Burnt SteakParticipantI see my post was blocked so I’ll tell you the part that was probably kosher, that you should check up on the university. Usa today does some rankings and breaks down class sizes and gender ratio.
Hatzlacha
Burnt SteakParticipantJust love them for who they are. You are lucky that you are able to hang out with relatives. Not everyone is able to do that.
Burnt SteakParticipanteclipse, I didn’t know we went to the same shul. I got to say that the last kidush the shul had was outstanding.
Burnt SteakParticipantThe one that I’m at.
Burnt SteakParticipantI love playing Axis and Allies, one of the greatest games, but Monopoly is always played.
I used to play Munchkin but the game grew too frustrating, when people stared to figure out loopholes and technicalities.
I also have memories of playing texas hold em poker. We had chips but never played for money. Looking back it probably was not the most appropriate game for Shabbos but we were 12-13 and didn’t know any better.
Burnt SteakParticipantDo the Cubbie diet/ workout plan! For every consecutive season the cubs don’t have a world series victory do that many push ups, squats, pull ups, and after all that run for the same number of minutes alternating between sprinting and jogging every 5 minutes.
The dieting part is to have a solid diet of turkey, salad, and tears.
September 23, 2013 7:13 pm at 7:13 pm in reply to: Anyone went to college in Lakewood? And sem question. #976010Burnt SteakParticipantIt has mostly women. Most of the class sizes are smaller. Shouldn’t be such a bad place for a single Jewish girl. It officially is Roman Catholic.
I can’t help you with the second part except tell you to do what is best for you and don’t care what other people think about you. You will meet the person you are intended for either way, so you might as well not let social pressures stress you out.
Burnt SteakParticipantJust want to say that the only thing New York City has going for it is YU. Other than that Manhattan is crowded and noisy.
Burnt SteakParticipantWell, it would’ve been, could’ve been worse than you would ever know.
Oh, the dashboard melted, but we still have the radio.
Oh, it should’ve been, could’ve been worse than you would ever know.
Well, you told me about nowhere well it sounds like someplace I’d like to go.
Oh, it could’ve been, should’ve been worse than you would ever know.
Well, the windshield was broken but I love the fresh air you know.
(The dashboard melted but we still have the radio)
Oh, it would’ve been, could’ve been worse than you would ever know, oh!
(The dashboard melted but we still have the radio)
Oh, we talked about nothing which was more than I wanted you to know-oh-oh-oh-oh.
Now here we go!
Oh! It would’ve been, could’ve been worse than it had even gone
Well, the car was on blocks, but I was already where I want.
(It was impossible, we ran it good, we ran it good)
Why should we ever even ever really even get to know?
(It was impossible, we ran it good, we ran it good)
Oh if the world don’t like us it’ll shake us just like we were a co-oh-oh-oh-old.
Now here we go!
Well we scheme and we scheme but we always blow it
We’ve yet to crash, but we still might as well tow it
Standing at a light switch to each east and west horizon,
Every dawn you’re surprising,
and in the evening one’s consoling
Saying “See it wasn’t quite as bad as”
Well, it would’ve been, could’ve been worse than you would ever know.
I was patiently erasing and recording the wrong episodes
After you had proved my point wrong,
It wasn’t like I’d let it go, oh-oh-oh. Oh-oh-oh.
I just wanted to catch the last laugh of this show.
Yeah, it would’ve been, could’ve been worse than you would ever know.
Oh, the dashboard melted, but we still have the radio.
(The dashboard melted, but we ran it good, we ran it good)
Hard-wired to conceive, so much we’d have to stow it
Even needs have needs, tiny giants made of tinier giants.
Don’t wear eyelids so I don’t miss the last laugh of this show.
(The dashboard melted but we still have the radio)
Oh, we could’ve been, should’ve been worse than you would ever know.

Burnt SteakParticipantPut together a very good salami sandwich. Put some garlic and pepper on it for added awesomeness. Topped it off with spicy mustard. I can say that it was superb.
Burnt SteakParticipantSukkot nights by shlock rock is the only one I can think of right now.
Burnt SteakParticipantWhat is the point of this thread? Sounds trollish
September 16, 2013 7:41 pm at 7:41 pm in reply to: At what point are you officially one side or the other? #983402Burnt SteakParticipantDaMoshe you beat me to asking him to provide some examples
ANONANO I think you are making some very good points
Burnt SteakParticipantyeshivaguy I am joking but all of those people actually are hired to give motivational speeches
Burnt SteakParticipantDisclaimer: not trying to say Koufax wasn’t great, just saying he isn’t the only one.
Sandy Koufax was not the first great Jewish ballplayer. Hank Greenberg also refused to play on Yom Kippur in 1934 when the Tigers were in the middle of a pennant race. He was also beloved by that generation of Jews.
Burnt SteakParticipantLove how the weather is getting colder. Speaking of weather, did anyone notice how Mexico is getting hit by 2 named storms? As of now they are Hurricane Ingrid and Tropical Depression Manuel. They are on different sides of mexico but are almost opposite of each other, north of Mexico City. Just wanted to point that out.
September 16, 2013 6:36 am at 6:36 am in reply to: Friend wants to marry girl he met online #1187453Burnt SteakParticipant“But the main problem is that they came over to my house last night and my kids saw them. Before we could discuss it, they told my children that they were engaged.”
I’m wondering what your kids would have thought if they saw a guy and girl coming together. Would they have thought that they were just friends, a relative, or dating?
Burnt SteakParticipantBy yeshiva, I assume you meant the Yeshiva (pronounced yi*SHIVA), Skokie, but I don’t think anyone there would call themself a bochur.
Another few people I will suggest Ron McLean, Bob Dole, and if you want a jewish one then Mark Cuban
Burnt SteakParticipantpopup one of the only reasons it was popular was because of the guys voice.
Burnt SteakParticipantTein Le Chow — great Chinese place in Chicago but its takeout Taboon grill is also very good.
Shallots (high-endish place) was always too expensive for me, but they make an amazing pineapple burger, the other food there is also excellent. (What you went to shallots to get a burger??? Yea I did because it was the only place open and I just came in on a flight.)
Burnt SteakParticipantThe game turned out to be good. =D
Burnt SteakParticipantRay Lewis
Burnt SteakParticipantWhen I’m feeling down I sometimes listen to secular music and it cheers me up. granted that the music is not always peppy music and it is sometimes singing about very depressing topics, but I like that type of music and I feel like it sucks away my sadness and pain.

“The term “dank” refers to a HIGHer quality.”
isn’t “dank” weed?
Posted 43 minutes ago #
dank isn’t weed but many people who use weed use it as an adjective to indicate good quality.
Burnt SteakParticipantby the way I got information off of a website that specializes in reviewing kitchen equipment

Burnt SteakParticipant“Yo bro dank munch there”
Took me some time to figure what the person meant.
Burnt SteakParticipant“Amazingly satisfying terrifying tough journey”
I’m not married but this is what it sounds like.
Burnt SteakParticipantI think you might be confusing hallacha with appropriate behavior. I never heard of anyone assuring talking to girls(of any type), but I did that it is not a thing a ben torah does. (obviously not including shidduchim)
I don’t see a big problem with talking to them. It helps families get together. I personally don’t talk much to my female cousin, but that is for completely different reasons.
September 12, 2013 3:56 am at 3:56 am in reply to: Is it unethical to get telephone partners in two or more sources? #976216Burnt SteakParticipantYou might as well try to find out their number and ask them. But since it’s torah I would guess that neither of the organizations would object if you do the free hour with both.
Also if you are interested in torah study you should try to contact a local synagog/kollel and see if they have a similar program. I think chabbad also has a program like Partners in Torah and Jnet.org.
Hatzlacha in your learning
Burnt SteakParticipantI remember hearing at recess. I was rounding 2nd base, kickball, and I heard my teacher yell, OH MY GOSH. Then she told us what had happened.
Burnt SteakParticipantCool beanz
Burnt SteakParticipantcant give characteristics.
But it is defiantly not derogatory.
September 10, 2013 11:49 pm at 11:49 pm in reply to: The five-phase cycle of a girl in shidduchim #995517Burnt SteakParticipantI feel kinda bad because I laughed after reading this.
But from what I’ve seen with relationships this also applies to guys although a much lesser state.
Burnt SteakParticipantThis seams to be a loaded question.
Depends who you ask and whom the kippa is meant for.

Burnt SteakParticipantI’m not near this rock, The Rock of Gibraltar, because it is too far away from the USA. =P
Burnt SteakParticipantVote for Pedro!
