Sam2: I asked for specifics. How will reading any of the above mentioned books help most Yidden who read it?

Will reading Macbeth make you a kinder person? A more generous person? Something else?

Specifically how will reading any of the above mentioned books help any Yid in practical life?

Please explain (if there really is an answer).

Even aside from the rabbonim who said Tendler is a rasha, simple logic says that even if he had a right to his own shitta — no one is forcing him to perform MBP on his children — yet he clearly and absolutely has no right to force others — who b’shitta hold MBP is absolutely halachicly mandatory — to follow his “shitta” not to perform MBP.

And even far worse is his mesira of getting the government involved in his attempts to stop Yidden from following their halachic shitta that it is mandatory.

Whereas men tend to respond intellectually to situations, women more often respond emotionally.

This fact is not only acknowledged in the human sciences but is often alluded to in Torah sources.

Rambam Hichos Milah, perek 2, halacha 2:

    ????? ???? ???? ??????? ?? ????? ?????? ???:

Also, a known provocateur rabbi who regularly attacks anyone he considers too frum, who goes unto Har Habayis against the directions of Gedolei Yisroel ztl/shlita, and who in the past misrepresented positions of Rav Moshe (while he was alive no less!), is attempting to instigate Rockland County into banning MBP.

I noticed that when the enemies of the Torah community try to poo-poo metzitza b’peh, they attempt to portray a minimization of the segments of Orthodox Jewry that engage in this mitzvah. So they say something like only “some Hasidim” do it. Of course this is simply a falsehood as in fact most Chareidim, including most of the Yeshivish world do metzitza b’peh. I come from the Litvish side of things, and MBP has been used in the vast majority of Brisim I’ve seen in the Yeshivish world, not only at my own Yeshiva circles but at others as well.

The original sub-title can still be seen in the google cache. (And it may have the original sub-title in the print edition of the paper, as well.)

Also, she writes that she came to her atheistic beliefs already years ago. Meaning when she wrote her book pretending she was frum criticizing the frum community from within, in reality she was irreligious criticizing the Torah community.

No, Ms. Lchochma, I did not mention teshuva in my most recent comment. Hanging, drawing and quartering the malefactor very much exceeds and violates the Torah permitted penalty even without teshuva.

(besides co workers and religious authority figures)

You think Rabbonim are the only one who seek the Emes and want to address matters exclusively under a Torah framework? To your surprise, there are indeed many many “laymen” who seek the same.

Asking that any penalty not exceed what the Torah allows, is in no way a defense of what transpired. To those calling for the malefactor to be hung, drawn and quartered, that very much exceeds and violates the Torah.

You are not one who can make that decision. And no one who can, ever pronounced such a takana. So it is invalid. And prohibited.

    bubka,

from where do you take those directions?

ACS can obtain a court order and take away the children by force. In fact Slamming the door on them will give them more evidence that you are hiding something from them.

    2scents:

No they cannot without proving to a court the children are in immediate danger.

And you absolutely do have the absolute Constitutional right to keep them out of your home for any or no reason at all. It is called the Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution. And the right is absolute. You need not explain why you don’t want them in your home. And excersizing your right under the Constitution does not give them any thing to hold against you under the law.

They must go to a court and prove to a judge probably cause against you to get a warrant to do anything. Without them being able to demonstrate that to court, they are powerless. And you can keep them out of your home and refuse to talk to them.

Popa is 100% correct. And a punishment cannot be applied to an individual where the Torah doesn’t allow it, even if the purported purpose is to benefit society.

And Sam, halachicly that is only the case if there was an actual maaisa. Otherwise you are incorrect.

As far as protecting innocents, absolutely. But it cannot done in a manner that penalizes the person in a manner unauthorized by the Torah.

And, no matter what, once he served his time he has to live somewhere. And you cannot tell him to go live next to yenem so he is further from unzerer. (Kind of like no one wants the incinerator in their neighborhood — but its gotta be somewhere. And your neighborhood is just as qualified as the next guy’s neighborhood.)

The Torah has a different attitude and set of rules and laws than what you would like.

The Torah does not punish people based on predictive thinking of how he will act in the future. And the Torah does afford *anyone* the opportunity to *fully* repent.

In my religion (Judaism) we have a rule than *anyone* can do repentance (teshuva). And according to our Jewish religion, not only is anyone afforded the opportunity to repent, but once they sincerely demonstrate they have done so — and *everyone* is afforded that opportunity in the Jewish religion — we are mandated under Jewish law to treat them fully as members of the community and to never again remind them of their former sin.

    That’s the law.

And where exactly should they live anyways?

What’s that supposed to mean? Okay, you want “registered offenders” to be permanently branded with a hot iron so they can never live down their sin. That may be foreign to Judaism, but so be it. But they cannot live in the community after they served their time in the system? Where, exactly, should they live if not in your neighborhood? In the other guy’s neighborhood? Why — is the other guy less important than you?

Here is what to do if ACS, C’V, comes knocking at your door:

    A) Do not let them into your house. They cannot enter without your permission unless they show you a court warrant from a Judge. They generally will not have that. Letting them in is an invitation for them to mess your life up.

    B) Do not tell them anything or talk to them. Be polite and advise them you are unable to speak to them. Close your door.

According to the (majority) shittos that most or everyone will return in techiyas hameisim, will everyone live forever after they return to the living during techiyas hameisim? Or will they die a second time? And if they die a second time, where will they go after their second death?

And will the people still alive during techiyas hameisim die and return or simply just stick around?
