I do not see what is wrong with letters or invitations being addressed to Mr.& Mrs. that is how it is in the world we live in, or introducing a new couple, “for the first time as Mr.&Mrs.”, on the contrary it is a celebratory message, if anyone would make an issue, I think it would be more with the Hebrew/Yiddish referral on the invitation “Uriso”, which to me sounds much more like the woman being the shlep along (pardon me if I am wrong, I do not know where or why this began, or if has any Halachic source. For that matter I think Mar & Maras sounds better than “uriso”, if indeed some feel it’s a lack of tznius to mention the woman’s name, though I don’t understand it. In Tanach numerous women’s names are mentioned. Do our invitations have to be holier than the Tanach?? Please note also a friend/relative of “Mrs.” who knows her more than the husband may not even realize who the invitation is from – especially with a name like Cohen, and having the woman’s first name might clarify the experience for some.
In our early years of marriage we often spent Shabbos at my husband’s Rebbie’s house (this person was his Rebbie in High School – Mesivta, and my husband maintained a close kesher with him. He and his wife, used to sit next to one another in arm chairs, at the long side of the table further from the entrance to the dining room. I thought it a very nice way of doing things, and now being a Bubby, I still think so.

It is crucial not only to agree and give lipservice to this rule but to truly carry through. And even if you don’t have much in the pocketbook, put a vault lock on your mouth. I’ve seen total Destruction CHURBAN of a marriage/full size family CHURBAN of highest order CHURBAN HAMIKDASH caused by the mouth of a ________of a shvigger.

As an older parent of more than one special needs child, I’d recommend: getting as much therapy as possible, treating your child as much as possible like the others, YOU MUST BE YOUR CHILD’s CHIEF ADVOCATE AND TRY NOT TO GIVE UP THE FIGHT. At some point the legal terminology for special needs children became, “developmentally delayed”, flights that are delayed do get there with Hashem’s help and often with such an attitude by parents, teachers, therapists, and the world at large, and with Hashem’s help many more children with delays will eventually meet their mainstream peers’ abilities and accomplishments, or at least get much closer to their goals, and there will be IY’H many more success stories.
