brotherofursParticipant
i think it should be,
after all it’s quite easy
even now, for me 🙂
brotherofursParticipantlets get the rules straight,
is there a winner for this?
is rhyming allowed?
brotherofursParticipantit’s very easy,
after you get used to it,
now it’s a habit,
brotherofursParticipanti like these haikus
some of these are very cool
especially mine 😉
brotherofursParticipantoh we had a blackskinned busdriver who’s last name was Mrs. Black, and she showed us her driver’s license and her last name used to be white!
brotherofursParticipanthmm my father is sephardic and he’s not like that at all , i think it depends on the person.
brotherofursParticipantr u gonna count all the ppl that looked now? 😉
brotherofursParticipantnever heard of the strawberry shortcake song but what about “Lemon on lime gotta be on time when the school bell rings at..”
Anyone now that one?? thats what i used to sing a lot
brotherofursParticipantlearn torah, do chesed or hang out with friends
brotherofursParticipanti think this is a Big issue and we should work on ourselves..
but i think we should really be dan lekaph zechut,
because we don’t know what could be happening in their lives at the moment,
maybe there was an emergency and someone had to run out without putting an item in the exact spot in the store,
or maybe they REally didnt realize it was a refrigerator,
or maybe the guy was eating sm in his car and it was burning hot and he quickly, without thinking, threw it out the window.. ANYTHING couldve happened.
brotherofursParticipanthmm.. middlepath , can’t you also think when your doing a mitzvah not only that ur getting reward but that Hashem asked this of us and we do it because of how much we love Hashem 😀
brotherofursParticipantwhen u married him u thought he was going to handle the children differently than he is now?
brotherofursParticipanti have another cousin who married an Ashkanaz man who is not like Sepharadim at All. And my cousin wasn’t really a typical Syrian Sephardic woman Beforrre she got married , so i wouldn’t say she changed to be like him either.
brotherofursParticipantmy uncle’s Ashkenaz and married my aunt who’s Sephardic, and all the time ppl say he acts just like a Syrian [ but maybe it was because he wasn’t religious when he was young so maybe culture didn’t make such an impact on him]
brotherofursParticipantuneeq- don’t forget about keke 🙂 [also grandmother’s nickname]
brotherofursParticipantben yom hashiviee lesheshet yemei hamaasei
brotherofursParticipantthat really worked? and the girls didn’t just always look at everyone else to see who it was that was talking?
brotherofursParticipanto thanks mods!
brotherofursParticipantreally?? 😀 i never heard that one .. and i knew emergency didnt really make sense 🙂 but it makes jump rope so much more fun
brotherofursParticipanti didnt really like rain, until one of my teachers told me that when it rains the Shamayim is open [for the rain to come down] and it’s a very good time to pray, so now i always think of that when it’s raining and i get excited 😀
August 17, 2011 12:28 am at 12:28 am in reply to: How well do u get along with your siblings? #798432brotherofursParticipantmy siblings and i are still all really kids, but we have b”H a good relationship with one another even though we have our MANY differences. We do have our arguments once in a while but in the end we just laugh and we know each other very well. But there are those siblings who i get along more with more than the others..
i hope in the future we’ll have an even better relationship with eachother b”H 🙂
brotherofursParticipantmine would be like 2 cartoon ppl holding hands 🙂
brotherofursParticipanti think its a good idea to let the mods do it, but adorable’s right, i feel bad for them :(.
Also if there are pics, they should all be like cartoon [like on aol when u IM] .. i feel like they cant be bad if theyre small little cartoons 🙂
brotherofursParticipant*oops mods can u plz change the title to a tinker a TAILOR instead 0of sailor twice? thanks!

brotherofursParticipanti think my parents the most, [may they live until 120 b”H]
because of their many acts of chesed and their knowledge of Torah.
brotherofursParticipantwell 9th grade was the hardest year of my life- i think. But it really all depends.
if ur like gong with a lot of your friends then it’ll probably be easier, and it depends how hard the school is, {in studies}.. but really it was also a great year of my life because u really end up learning stuff you’ll need for life and you can get closer relationships with teachers, and decide how you want to become..
(this is how it was for me but it might be different) give us more details , what r u scared of?
Its a lot of fun! dont worry 🙂
brotherofursParticipanto come on 😉
brotherofursParticipantIsrael? 🙂
brotherofursParticipanti dont blush our of embarassment but just today as i was walking i waved to a person i thought was some1 else and then when we were walking closer to each other it was soo awkward and embarassing!
brotherofursParticipantlol zeeskite, i know 1 person thinks like me! 😉
brotherofursParticipantthanks guyz this thread was very useful to me! 🙂
brotherofursParticipantThe chassidish/Ashkenazic accent drives me CRAZY!
I started listening to Israeli Sefardic non Jewish music – but that’s the same as the English non Jewish music, except in Hebrew
kylbdnr- what about Yaakov Shwekey!? 😀
August 8, 2011 6:14 pm at 6:14 pm in reply to: how do u find out on a date if the spouse is humble? #795447brotherofursParticipanthaleivi – lol i didnt know how else to say it 😉
brotherofursParticipantso what does everyone think about if the mezuzah is missing a letter or smething then sm bad can happen in ur home? does any1 believe this? and why? is it a superstition that’s making sm that’s a reminder for us into something magical?
brotherofursParticipanti know someone who everyone calls “Chicky” because her father called her a chicky when she was a baby.
i know someone who calls their kids Tony [short o sound] and ella, instead of netan-el and rephaella- just interesting
brotherofursParticipantthere’s a guy i know [i dont now if this really happened or its just a joke about him but..
The lady at the airport asked the guy
lady:what’s ur name?
Israel: Israel
Lady: last name?
Israel:Israel
Lady:Where do u come from?
Israel:Israel
Lady:THIS MAN IS CRAZY HE SHOULDN’T COME TO AMERICA
lolololol (he really did come from Israel too;)
brotherofursParticipantwe eat meat like 2/5 days [not counting Shabbat] and a lot of my famil are vegetarians so my mother makes parve food with the meat
brotherofursParticipantlol this stuff is so funny!
how about this?
READ THIS OUT LOUD:
I cnduo’t bvleiee taht I culod aulaclty uesdtannrd waht I was rdnaieg. Unisg the icndeblire pweor of the hmuan mnid, aocdcrnig to rseecrah at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it dseno’t mttaer in waht oderr the lterets in a wrod are, the olny irpoamtnt tihng is taht the frsit and lsat ltteer be in the rhgit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it whoutit a pboerlm. Tihs is bucseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey ltteer by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Aaznmig, huh?
brotherofursParticipantweird guess but maybe they really didn’t have eye problems , maybe its like from all the technology like tv’s, computers [ actually i’m thinking right now that many frum ppl have glasses but dont have that stuff] sooo it was worth a try..
brotherofursParticipanti don’t listen to accupela because to me- i get the same happiness out of that that i get out of regular music.. i’ve been singing though :), and i’m sort of trying to sing sad-ish songs beacuse it feels a little weird..
brotherofursParticipantwow i didn’t know this :o! thanks for the info 😉 should i send out a text to ppl i know and tell them??
brotherofursParticipantto make sure u don’t drink lard , we’ll make sure to hire a guard 🙂
brotherofursParticipantI think instead of posts trying to figure out how the two groups are different and never the twain shall meet, maybe we should look at what’s similar, try to learn Torah together and increase achdus amongst AM YISRAEL.
mommamia- definitaly! and i feel like we shouldnt make threads like “do u watch movies” because it points out people’s differences.. oh idk maybe that’s just all threads hmm..
brotherofursParticipantprincess 17- but i still feel weird watching those things, like they have the many Jewish films for women that teach good lessons but i still feel like i’m wasting time and could be doing sm better
August 1, 2011 9:10 pm at 9:10 pm in reply to: Would Anyone Here Be Old Enough to Be President??????????????? #793254brotherofursParticipantnope. goq was right . i cant vote.
brotherofursParticipantbrotherofursParticipantoh i also heard an opinion from someone that:
Ashkanazim usually live far away from their parents,[like in different states] many times and this is common .. when Syrians usually live a block away from their parents and mostly everyone lives in the same 10 block range and u see your extended family ALL the time, every Shabbat and their relationship is very close b”H.
*could be that my parnts did not want my brother to move away to another , or city, which can most likely happen in the Ashkanaz world
brotherofursParticipanti’m sephardic and syrian..i’m wondering if i know any of you cuz it narrows down the search a lil 🙂
i know that when my brother wanted to marry an ashkanazie girl my parents did not really like it..they wannted to know the family well, (they usually can find a connection to Any syrian family) and they wanted the girl to be accustomed to the minhagim, idk or maybe it was just cause she was different than us, way of talking , diffenret type of upbringing,
i’m not saying they were right, this is just how thy felt i think. (i also didn’t hear much about it cuz i was a little young).. but they for sure rather someone syrian , from the same community..
August 1, 2011 3:49 am at 3:49 am in reply to: Do you size people up when meeting them?
