i think this is a Big issue and we should work on ourselves..

but i think we should really be dan lekaph zechut,

because we don’t know what could be happening in their lives at the moment,

maybe there was an emergency and someone had to run out without putting an item in the exact spot in the store,

or maybe they REally didnt realize it was a refrigerator,

or maybe the guy was eating sm in his car and it was burning hot and he quickly, without thinking, threw it out the window.. ANYTHING couldve happened.

i have another cousin who married an Ashkanaz man who is not like Sepharadim at All. And my cousin wasn’t really a typical Syrian Sephardic woman Beforrre she got married , so i wouldn’t say she changed to be like him either.

my uncle’s Ashkenaz and married my aunt who’s Sephardic, and all the time ppl say he acts just like a Syrian [ but maybe it was because he wasn’t religious when he was young so maybe culture didn’t make such an impact on him]

my siblings and i are still all really kids, but we have b”H a good relationship with one another even though we have our MANY differences. We do have our arguments once in a while but in the end we just laugh and we know each other very well. But there are those siblings who i get along more with more than the others..

i hope in the future we’ll have an even better relationship with eachother b”H 🙂

well 9th grade was the hardest year of my life- i think. But it really all depends.

if ur like gong with a lot of your friends then it’ll probably be easier, and it depends how hard the school is, {in studies}.. but really it was also a great year of my life because u really end up learning stuff you’ll need for life and you can get closer relationships with teachers, and decide how you want to become..

(this is how it was for me but it might be different) give us more details , what r u scared of?

Its a lot of fun! dont worry 🙂

I think instead of posts trying to figure out how the two groups are different and never the twain shall meet, maybe we should look at what’s similar, try to learn Torah together and increase achdus amongst AM YISRAEL.

mommamia- definitaly! and i feel like we shouldnt make threads like “do u watch movies” because it points out people’s differences.. oh idk maybe that’s just all threads hmm..

oh i also heard an opinion from someone that:

Ashkanazim usually live far away from their parents,[like in different states] many times and this is common .. when Syrians usually live a block away from their parents and mostly everyone lives in the same 10 block range and u see your extended family ALL the time, every Shabbat and their relationship is very close b”H.

*could be that my parnts did not want my brother to move away to another , or city, which can most likely happen in the Ashkanaz world

i’m sephardic and syrian..i’m wondering if i know any of you cuz it narrows down the search a lil 🙂

i know that when my brother wanted to marry an ashkanazie girl my parents did not really like it..they wannted to know the family well, (they usually can find a connection to Any syrian family) and they wanted the girl to be accustomed to the minhagim, idk or maybe it was just cause she was different than us, way of talking , diffenret type of upbringing,

i’m not saying they were right, this is just how thy felt i think. (i also didn’t hear much about it cuz i was a little young).. but they for sure rather someone syrian , from the same community..
